Lost Creek Country Club Golf Course Frost Delay Policy One of the challenges of the winter season is FROST. Frost on the greens will require the course to remain closed until the course warms up enough to melt the frost. Frost in an indication that the grass blades are frozen, and should not be walked on, mowed, or driven on until the frost is gone. If we mow or drive on the grass before the frost melts, the grass blades will break off, leaving the grass dead instead of alive and pliable. Also, remember that we will need time to set up the course and mow after the frost has melted. This will require us to delay play for approximately ½ hour after the frost is gone. Please be patient and allow us this time to adequately prepare the course for play. The Golf Course Superintendent, or his Assistant, will make the decision as to when the course is officially ready for play, depending on the soil temperature. If frost closes the course, MISSED TEE TIMES WILL BE CANCELED. Any player whose tee time is canceled may ask to be put on an in-person waiting list for the next available spot to play. The waiting list will be conducted in the order in which the missed tee times were originally booked. Please note, in the winter season where the frost is possible, early tee times are in the FROST DANGER ZONE! If you wish to avoid frost cancellations, the Golf Staff strongly suggests making tee times later in the day. Although there is no completely equitable system to deal with this occurrence, we believe this policy will inconvenience the FEWEST amount of golfers. The Golf Shop Staff can keep you informed on cold mornings as to the status of the course. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION, UNDERSTANDING, AND PATIENCE WITH THIS POLICY!!!! 13
