CAPTAINS REPORT Spring Rally and Poker Run 11.09.2016 23 Riders including 1 from Manjimup, 3 from Mandurah and 1 from Busselton Glen Britza s Birthday. The Riders left the BREC Carpark and proceeded to old Coast Road and then onto Forrest Highway. They then turned off the Highway at Marriott Road, and followed Campbell Road, Partridge Road, and then into SW Highway. They then turned off SW Highway into Sandalwood Road, Martin Road, and then into Mornington Road where they drew the 2 nd poker card. 4

They then proceeded to Collie via Patstone Road, Atkinson Street and Forrest Street, stopping at the Good Shed Carpark for the 3 rd poker card and a 30 min break and refreshments. They then proceeded to Pile Road, Ferguson Road and into Dardanup stopping at the Dardanup Hall for the 4 th Poker Card. From Dardanup the riders followed Ferguson Road into Picton- Boyanup Road and finally Willinge Drive where the last card was drawn in the Truck Bay on Willinge Drive to complete the Poker hand. Thanks to Neville Green for organising the Run, Eddie Laing for providing Back-up and Ray & Beryl Jordan for handing out the Poker cards. Faye Carn Mid-week PM Run 14.09.2016 16 Riders and 2 Guests We started our ride from the Dolphin Centre on a beautiful cool but sunny Wednesday afternoon, with John Coleman our designated leader. We turned left onto Koombana Drive and then left again onto the Eelup Roundabout onto the Australind Bypass. We turned right into Hynes Road and then left into Clifton Road and proceeded along Clifton Road, and then we headed left at the T Junction onto SW Highway. We proceeded along SW highway and turned in to Waterloo Road and then Ferguson Road and Depiazzi Roads. We Turned off Depiazzi Road into Panizza Road which had about 1 kilometre of gravel, which wasn t so bad as far as gravel goes. We proceeded from there into Crooked Brook Road and then we turned right into Joshua Creek Road and this is where all the fun started with the 5 kilometres of loose horrible gravel (I know it was 5 kilometres because at the time it felt like 10 kilometres so I took a drive in the car just to see how much gravel there actually was). JC apologised profusely and said that when he planned the course the map said all roads were bitumen. It was a challenge for me, but I got through with me and bike unscathed. We then proceeded onto Boyanup Picton Road and then onto SW Highway and through Boyanup. Then we turned left into Lowrie Road, and meandered through Boundary Road, Gavins Road, East Road, Weld Road, Capel Drive, and finally Forrest Road ending up at the Capel Bakery for Afternoon Tea. Apart from the challenges some of us faced on the gravel it was a fantastic Ride, thanks to John Coleman. Faye Carn Busso Mid-week Ride 5 Oct 2016 Another good day for our mid-week ride considering the weather of late. We had 18 members turn up with a good contingence from Bunbury and one visitor. Phil lined up a ride to Nannup to see the much talked about wooden clock. Phil led us off along the Vasse Hwy to Nannup and out along Balingup Rd to the Master Clockmaker place where we were greeted by Kevin Bird and his wife, Kevin showed us the clock and gave us a talk about how he made it and how it worked, it truly is a master piece, well worth the visit. After, we were treated to coffee/tea, pikelets with jam and cream (very enjoyable) for a small fee which coved the entry fee as well. We then headed over to Balingup for lunch and fuel stop, we were a bit late getting there and we missed out on our favourite pies but what was 5

left was good. It was decided to take the shortest route home as time was getting on, so we headed along South Western Hwy turned at Cundinup Rd, (Bunbury mob left us here to go straight home) Vasse Hwy arriving at Busselton about 3PM. A very good ride, with no mishaps or losing any one. Peter Mid-Week AM Run 28.09.2016 5 Riders road to Busselton to. Sensations Restaurant and met up with the Busso Boys. Quiz Ride 09.10.2016. 5 Riders and 1 Pillion passenger We arrived at the Dolphin Centre with the sky threatening a downpour, but we were lucky it did not happen and ended up being quite a nice day. Eddie Laing was our Back-up and Neville Green and Bert Sykes led the group in Neville s car reaching the stops first to ask the Quiz questions. I think this is usually done on Bikes; perhaps the weather had something to do with the change in plan. tea. We had questions 7 before leaving the Bakery and then travelled into Capel Drive, Weld Road, East Road, Elgin Road and Clark Road Then onto Railway Road and then turned right into South West Highway and travelled through Boyanup and then turned left into Shenton Road just before the Railway Crossing. Then we turned into Gwindinup Road, Hurst, Boyanup Picton, Dillon, Twomey, Crooked Brook Roads, and then onto Moore Road stopping at the Truck Bay on Bunbury Outer Ring Road for Questions 8 and 9. Then onto Willinge Road stopping at the Truck Bay just before Estuary Roundabout for the final Question. Thanks to Neville & Bert for mapping the course, Neville for preparing the questions, and Eddie for providing back-up. Great ride with only one mishap when Faye took the wrong Crooked Brook Road and ended up doing an extra few kilometres in the wrong direction, and had to turn around and meet up with the others at the end of the ride on Willinge Drive. Faye Carn We proceeded out of the Dolphin Centre, after having Questions 1 and 2, onto Koombana Drive and then out along Willinge Drive to the Outer Ring Road where we had Questions 3 and 4. Then onto Lillydale Road, Yalinda Drive, Eucalypt Drive Banksia Road, Woods Road, Brockway Drive, Calinup Road and across Bussell Highway and into Lakes Road. We followed Minninup Road which turns into Fisherman's Road and then Chislehurst Avenue, Venus Road, Bourne Loop, and then onto Boyanup West Road and Elgin Road stopping at the Elgin Hall For Questions 5 and 6. We proceeded along Gavins Road and ended up at the Capel Bakery for morning 6 The Wheatbelt Run Ross Eaton thanked the members who attended the Wheatbelt Run and made it such a memorable weekend and it was especially great to see Kate Coleman in attendance who is currently going through Chemo. There were 18 Bikes with one Pillion Passenger, Trike, 2 Cars and 3 passengers plus one dog. Ross thanked Lindsay for providing back-up at the last minute and Faye for doing the Route Sheets. The mileage on Day 1 was 470klm s, Day 2 was 346klm s, and

Day 3 was 299klm s which ended up being 1115klm s for the weekend. Watch this space for details closer to the date, which will be later in the year so that we get some good weather for a change. We didn t have much rain over the weekend but the weather was freezing. Ross Eaton Day 1 we left Bunbury through Ferguson Valley, Lowden, and Boyup Brook and stopped at Kojonup Bakery for Lunch which was well worth the stop, they have great pies and the biggest and best Vanilla Slices in the Wheatbelt. We journeyed on through Broome Hill, Katanning, Dumbleyung, and Lake Grace and ended up at the Kulin Hotel which was a welcome sight because the weather had been very cold all day. Day 2 we left the Kulin Pub and went through Kondinin to Narembeen, Bruce Rock, Corrigin, Quairading, and York and finally ended up at the Beverley Hotel for the night. This was a great venue with a fantastic Publican, who offered an evening meal, accommodation and breakfast next morning (which we helped cook and clean up afterwards) in return for a great packaged rate. Day 3 we left Beverley and proceeded onto Brookton, Pingelly, Boddington, Quindanning, Williams, Collie through Collie to Wellington Weir and on to Dardanup, Picton and Home. Some of the Riders took a different route home down the Brookton Highway to Armadale and then down the SW Highway. Ross said that he will change the date and the format of the Run next year because it clashes with The Motorcycle Extravaganza in Collie being run by the Ulysses Motorcycle Club over the September long weekend. 7 LIBRARIAN S REPORT Nil to Report PUBLICITY OFFICERS REPORT Bill Pike on leave PROPERTY OFFICERS REPORT The Shed was broken into sometime on Sunday evening the 25/9/16 or early on Monday morning. I was away on the Wheatbelt Run so Richard kindly took the call and checked the damage. The roller doors on the next shed were significantly damaged again, but our shed only needed a new Hasp & Staple and a bigger padlock which Richard replaced. On inspection of the Shed on Monday there was nothing taken but the Polystyrene Boxes had holes punched in them to display the contents. Ride. The Bags containing the Gazebos had also been opened to display the contents. While doing the stock check we found the 4 missing no Smoking signs, which were on top of the filing cabinet. Ross Carn. LICENSING LIAISON OFFICERS REPORT Jeff Smith on Sick Leave. WEBSITE MANAGER REPORT John Presland on leave GENERAL BUSINESS Richard said that he has had an email from Leith who has asked if riders are going to attend a sausage sizzle lunch, morning tea etc. after a ride,

that they let the Ride organisers know for catering purposes, because sometimes it gets a bit difficult to know how much food is required. John Coleman had HAIRY HATS for sale for $10.00 each with the proceeds going to the Cancer Research at the Royal Perth Hospital. Murray Rudler said after a request to take a gentleman on a ride for his 95 th Birthday, which was scheduled for Sunday 01/10/2016 the weather turned out to be not really suitable. Murray rang the Gentleman s daughter to see if they could put it off until the weather was better, but she said that he was going and nothing, even a hurricane was going to stop him from having his Birthday Ride. Murray and JC took him in 2 different sidecars for a total of about 20klms, and then transferred him into a car before it bucketed down. Thanks Muzza for organising the Birthday Ride. Bernie McCormack then auctioned some motorcycle parts donated by Colin Batley. Royal Enfield Battery cover and stand, Murray Rudler $20.00 2 Triumph heads, Murray Rudler $10.00 GZ Carbi cover and primary cover, Glen Britza $11.00 This netted the Club $41.00. The meeting closed at 8.45 pm NEW MEMBER NOMINATIONS The following people have applied for membership to our club. Ladies are asked to remember this is a Secret Santa occasion and are encouraged to bring with them on the night a gift to the value of $10/$15 to exchange with other Ladies of the Club. It would be greatly appreciated if Ladies considering attending this wonderful get together could convey their intentions and pay $25.00 in advance, remembering this evening has always been subsidized by the Indian Harley Club (Bunbury) Inc., in appreciation and recognition of your continually hard work, efforts and support throughout the year. Class B A moderate speed ride (70 90 Kms), generally of between 80 and 160 Kms total with a mix of back roads with some highway use. Suitable for most historic motorcycles. Class C A higher speed ride (within speed limits), generally of between 100 and 200 Kms total with back roads used when possible but with a high use of highways. Suitable for late model historic and modern motorcycles. Class D A special event e.g. overnight or long rides, where the full description must be published in Classic Vibrations prior to the event being run. Whilst any member should be able to ride any machine, the above classifications enable the member to choose a suitable machine or to decide whether to ride or not. Please contact one of the ladies mentioned below before December 2 nd (Friday) cutoff date. Hope you can make it Ladies!!! Faye (Club Secretary) P/# 97 971 709 - Leith (Club Captain) P/# 97 252 835 - Sharon (Co-ordinator Pre-48 s) P/# 97 315 406 or Glenda (Club Treasurer) P/# 0417 018 225. RIDE CLASSIFICATIONS Class A. A low speed ride, generally of less than 80 Kms total held on predominately quiet back roads with minimal use of major highways. Suitable for Veteran and older or small capacity historic motorcycles. There have been some instances that I am aware of where members have turned up for a ride and been disappointed that they were riding an unsuitable machine. The club should ensure that there are a variety of rides during the year of all classifications to enable all members to participate.
