Effective control is achieved with up to 40-60 g or 1½ to 2 oz. of product per rat and 10-15 g or 1 /3 or ½ oz. per mouse. The way rodents absorb water through their lower gut is quite different to other animals, including humans and birds. This coating of the fine hairs in the lower gut, called villi, disrupts the message system to the rodents brain causing it to stop drinking. This leads to dehydration, blood thickening, kidney failure, coma and eventual death. How much does it take to kill them? Between 40 to 60 g per rat and 10 to 15 g per mouse.
