Cognitive (1); Affective (1); Psychomotor/ Fitness (3) Assessment for each objective must be included 30 sec 1 min (Whistle) Stop jogging and come sit on the far court. Set Induction: Good afternoon! Today we are going to be playing a couple of small games of 2 on 2 and 3 on 3. These games are quick, fast, and fun and require lots of effort. Last time you were assigned to groups to make it easier to get things started and organized. If you can quickly and efficiently get in groups and get lined up for the games, you will be allowed to pick your own groups today.

Time 1 min 45 sec 8 min 2 on 2 Explanation: Explain the rules to the students for 2 on 2 volleyball. Demonstrate how the game is played and how rotations occur. Check for understanding. Have the students pick partners. Find a partner. Once you have a partner, stand on a court ready for play. After everyone is ready, the volleyballs will be distributed and you can begin. 2 on 2: Students begin playing 2 on 2 volleyball while teacher observes. Check for correct scoring and rules. Blow whistle every minute to rotate to a new court. 2 on 2 Rules: -Serve does not have to be at the baseline -Alternate which partner serves -Team who scores the point serves -West side of gym rotates on whistle Cognitive (1); Affective (1); Psychomotor/ Fitness (3) Assessment for each objective must be included Affective: SWBAT find a partner and get into position before the whistle blows. Assessment: Teacher will keep track of the number of students who are not able to get in position. If students are off task, assign groups yourself. 2 min (Whistle) Take your volleyballs and bring them to me, everyone have a seat on the far court. King of the Court Explanation: Demonstrate and explain the rules of King of the Court. Show how groups rotate, have groups demonstrate rotating. Review scoring for the game also. Since students have played before, review should be quick. Check for understanding. King of the Court Rules: -Serving always occurs from west side -Normal volleyball rules apply. -Groups keep track of their own point totals -Losing group exits on the sideline -If serving team scores a point, they go under the net to the other side -Groups may go to any court to challenge Cognitive: SWBAT repeat all of the instructions for King of the Court when questioned at the end of the explanation of the game. Assessment: Teacher will listen to students feedback when the question is posed.

Time I need 6 groups to be on the court, everyone else get with your group and wait in a line for the next game. Cognitive (1); Affective (1); Psychomotor/ Fitness (3) Assessment for each objective must be included 18 min King of the Court: Students play the mini-game. Teacher walks around the courts, looking for student organization and correctness of the rules. Give feedback. Stop the group to offer correction if needed. (Whistle) Grab all of the volleyballs and jog over to the door and wait to be dismissed. King of the Court Rules: -Serving always occurs from west side -Normal volleyball rules apply. -Groups keep track of their own point totals -Losing group exits on the sideline -If serving team scores a point, they go under the net to the other side -Groups may go to any court to challenge Psychomotor: SWBAT score at least 5 points per team during the King of the Court game play. Assessment: Teacher will record scores at the end of class during the closure. 1 min Closure: Was everyone able to score at least 5 points? Did you like choosing your own groups to play with?
