TEACHERS JOEL EDWARDS Joel studied at QUT (B. Arts Dance Performance) and Brent Street School of Performing Arts (Cert IV Perf. Arts). He also trained with Sue-Ellen Chester, Robert Sturrock, Jane Beckett and John Noble at On Camera Connections. Joel was a member of the Australian cast of Disney's Lion King, and performed in Mystic Rhythms at Tokyo Disney Sea. In addition to corporate and television credits locally and internationally, Joel has danced regularly with Opera Australia in various productions also touring with the company. Joel teaches Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz. ANGELA BLAKE Trained at the Brent School of Performing Arts and then at The New York Film Academy. She is a versatile performer with experience in dancing, acting and musical theatre and her credits include L.A Haunted Hayride, Dora the Explorer live on stage, Barney s Musical Castle World Tour, Barney s Lets Imagine Asian Tour, Pulse 8 Dance Company Cartoonival World Tour and Princess Cruises. Her Film credits include, Directors Cut, Crime School, Portraits of a Serial killer, Angela teaches Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Acrobatics KRISTY WALKER An accomplished entertainer and performer, Kristy has Trained jazz, classical ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, singing, drama, musical theatre, and modeling. As an avid dance student since the tender age of 3 years, Kristy later attended The McDonald College of Performing Arts where she learnt the foundations of dance, singing and acting. Kristy s credentials range from touring with a live children s entertainment show to winning numerous awards at eisteddfods, performing at the Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony, starring on television in Crime Scene Investigation Australia and numerous television commercials and appeared as the lead in Art Vs Science 'Finally See our Way' Film Clip. Kristy is an energetic and enthusiastic young professional with a love and passion for the performing arts. SCOTT POKORNY Scott grew up in the Northern Beaches of Sydney and began his training at Northern Districts School of Ballet. He commenced his full time training at the Australian Ballet School from 2008-2011. Scott has worked with numerous contemporary companies including Vertical Shadows, Industry Dance Company, JACK Productions and Rickstix Productions. He also danced in The Australian Ballet s Season of Coppelia and competed on the 2012 season of Australia s Got Talent. Scott currently teaches for Jason Coleman s Ministry of Dance in Melbourne.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AGE GROUPS AND LEVELS. Please book in according to age groups. All groups are for experienced dancers. WHAT DO I WEAR AND WHAT SHOES DO I BRING. Please make sure you bring appropriate comfortable clothing to dance in. Classical ballet leotard, tights and ballet shoes, and pointe shoes for the advanced levels. Jazz ballet shoes, jazz skirt, bike pants or jazz pants, leotard, tight tee shirt. WHAT ELSE DO I BRING? Water bottle, hair accessories, brush, change of clothes, towel, theraband, pointe shoes, tissues and a game or book. FOOD AND SNACKS Lane Cove is a vibrant area with many shops in the plaza for you to buy your lunch. Alternatively pack your healthy lunch and small snacks. VALUABLES AND LOST PROPERTY. Please take your valuables with you into the studio or alternatively don t bring them at all. CLASS BEHAVIOUR It is important that all students are respectful towards teachers and comply with any requests made by the teacher, as the well being of the entire class is the teachers responsibility. STAFF SUPERVISON Students will be supervised by our teachers and office staff at all times and also during lunch breaks. Please ensure that students are collected on time after the final class at 4 pm. Supervision will end 20 minutes after the final class and Lane Cove Dance Academy cannot be responsible for students after this time. It you are running late please call the office on 94187338 CHILD SAFETY CHECK All teachers at Lane Cove Dance Academy have undergone the working with children s check and are aware of their obligations under the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998 PERFORMANCE.
