5 Attachment 2.1 3. Subcommittee Reports Youth Council Meeting 3.1 Ms. Rohde provided a verbal report. Action: staff to investigate cost of bowler hats for youth at the Youth Council Meeting. Kick Off Event 3.2 Councillor Gerry Nuttall provided a verbal report. The budget was approved as presented. Changes to the plan include: no additional performers; canned music will be sourced; a second 10 x 10 heated tent will be rented. Action: Councillor Nuttall to download additional music. Action: Staff to add a stage to the rental package. Action: Staff to pay SOCAN fees for event. Special Council Meeting Parade Web Presence Update 3.3 No report. 3.4 No report. Aboriginal Day 3.5 Councillor Gerry Nuttall provided a verbal update. A deadline of January 15, 2013 was decided for determining if event would take place. First Nations Public Art 3.6 Councillor Gerry Nuttall provided a verbal update. Action: Melissa Hyndes to provide contact for SD43 Aboriginal Educator as a resource for connecting to Kwikwetlem First Nations artists. Moved, seconded and CARRIED THAT the First Nations Public Art Project be referred to the Arts and Culture Committee for input. Modular Train Display 3.7 Devin Jain Mr. Jain provided a verbal update. No dates have been set at this time. CPR Event 3.8 Councillor Gerry Nuttall provided a verbal update. Mr. Simons left the meeting. Yarillo Concert 3.11 Mr. Spence provided a verbal report and requested additional funds for the event should some become available. Block Parties 3.12 Ms. Jasienczyk provided an updated planning template for the block parties. 4. New Business Fireworks Proposal Review and Approval 4.1 Moved, seconded and CARRIED THAT this portion of the meeting be closed to the public pursuant to section 90(1)(k) of the Community Charter. Historical Highlights 4.2 Action: Staff to confirm that the Historical Highlights will continue to the end of 2013. Search for a Port Moody Centenarian 4.3 Moved, seconded and carried: That the Committee start the search, by means of advertising, for a Port Moody resident born in or prior to 1913. Colonel Moody 4.4 David Spence will portray Colonel Moody at various events throughout 2013. Tri-City News Advertising Opportunity 4.5 Moved, seconded and CARRIED THAT this portion of the meeting be closed to the public pursuant to section 90(1)(k) of the Community Charter. 5. Name of Event: 8 Attachment 6.2 Inlet Skating Club Ice Show "Happy Birthday Port MOody: Celebrating 100 Years of the City of the Art Description of Event: A 2-hour ice show that will take spectators through the last one hundred years of Port Moody history and popular music. Purpose/Goal of event: To celebrate and showcase the talent of the skating club, which has members of all ages, from children just learning to experienced teens to adults. To celebrate Port Moody's history. To celebrate from a musical and historical perspective the "City of the Arts." Describe how you will accomplish this: Each piece in the ice show will be linked by a narrative that will describe Port Moody's history during a given era (ex. talk about the railroad before children skate a piece that is choreographed to "I've been working on the railroad.")
