CENTRAL DISTRICT JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW Payne County Expo Center Stillwater, Oklahoma February 3, 4, & 5, 2011 Please read the following information carefully. While there are few changes to the 2011 show, there were significant changes to the 2010 show last year. All shows: The late fee of the show is $10.00 per head. Breeding Doe Show: Due to the generous sponsorship from Outback Laboratories, we will continue the show with $300 for Supreme Champion and $200 for Reserve Supreme Champion! If an exhibitor is to show his/her doe in both shows, they must pay two entry fees. All goats will show by weight- No Papers! Market Goat Show: We will continue this show with no changes, wethers will show against does. If an exhibitor is to show his/her doe in both shows, they must pay two entry fees. All goats will show by weight- No Papers! Cattle Shows: The cattle show will be held inside the cattle stalling barn facility and will have more space than in previous years. The floor will also be dirt, rather than wood chips above concrete. Hog Shows: All hogs will be weighed prior to entering the ring. They must not weigh more than 10 pounds over the heaviest hog in the class when they enter the ring. No watering of hogs from the time they enter the holding area until the class is done showing. Hogs are not allowed on the grounds unless the pseudo papers have been checked. Please have all Premise I.D. numbers available, as that information will be required on the entry card. Food from Boosters/Parent Groups: Please do not allow your groups to bring in food to feed your students. Everyone has to realize that hosting livestock shows depend upon concession sales. Recent show schedule changes: 5:00pm-7:00pm, Friday- Check Beef Heifer Registration Papers and Steer Weights Turned In (no Saturday check-in) 7:00pm Friday- Weights In For Saturday s Market Hog Show (no Saturday check-in) The Goat Show has been moved to Friday and Does will have their own show with added money!

CENTRAL DISTRICT JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW Payne County Expo Center Stillwater, Oklahoma February 3, 4, & 5, 2011 Heated indoor wash racks and a heated show ring for sheep and goats are just two of the advantages of the Payne County Expo Center. Once again, Dr. Kenny Beams, Superintendent of Ripley Public Schools will serve as our General Livestock Superintendent. The show is open to any 4H or FFA member aged 9-18 in the Central Agriculture Education District in Oklahoma. This includes the following counties: Payne, Oklahoma, Cleveland, Pottawatomie, McLain, Garvin, Stephens, Murray, Jefferson, Carter, Love & Lincoln. In addition, the beef cattle show has extended an invitation to the 4H and FFA members from the counties, which border Payne County, but are not in the Central FFA District. They are: Creek, Pawnee, Noble and Logan. Any breed of prospect steers, market steers, market lambs, barrows or market hogs not having at least 4 head represented will not have a breed show and will show in the appropriate classification of crossbred or other breeds. Please help everyone have an enjoyable show by following a few guidelines: Entries: The entry fees for the show shall be $30.00 per head for prospect steers, market steers and beef heifers. The fee for market lambs, barrows, market hogs & goats will be $20.00 per head. If barrows wish to show as barrows and market hogs, they must pay for each show. Entry deadline is Jan. 28. All late entries will be assessed a late fee of $10.00, cash only on show day! Payback: Class premiums will be paid to the top 1/3 of the class plus one extra placing. Breed champions will be paid $1.00 per head of that breed, with a $25.00 minimum. Reserve breed champions will receive $.50 per head of that breed, with a $15.00 minimum. Grand champions will be paid $1.00 per head of the particular show and reserve grand champions will receive $.50 per head of the particular show. Awards: Grand champions and reserve grand champions will receive trophies. Breed Champions will receive plaques. Bedding: Exhibitors must furnish wood chips for the bedding of the animals. Wood chips will be available for purchase at the show. No straw allowed in the barns. Tie outs will be available north of the facility for cattle and straw may be used out there. Pen Assignment: Pre-entries received will be given preference for stall assignments. Two pigs per pen and three lambs per pen, please. All pens, stalls and tie rail space will be assigned by the show management. Livestock Unloading: All sheep, goats & hogs will be loaded and unloaded on the North end of the facility only. Cattle will be loaded and unloaded along the alley on the east side of the facility. Generators: Must be kept outside of the barns. Food: By order of the County and State Health Department, no food may be prepared and served inside the barns. There will be food vendors available for you to purchase food from. Health Requirements: All swine must be tested negative for pseudorabies after December 1, 2010 and test record or health papers will be checked. Please do not bring livestock with fungus, ringworm, lice or any other communicable disease to the show. A veterinarian will be on the

grounds and any infectious livestock that he observes will be sent home. All ewe lambs should have a scrapie identification tag in their ear. Protests: Any protest must be made in writing and a $100.00 deposit must be included. The deposit will be forfeited if the protest is not sustained. The committee decision will be final. Judges placings cannot be protested. Release: All animals are released as soon as they are through showing. No livestock can be loaded out of the South end of the facility. Liability: The Ripley, Stillwater and Cushing FFA chapters as well as the Payne County Fairboard are not responsible for any loss, damage or injury to person or property. MARKET LAMBS- Judge: Vince McGolden, Fairview Wether lambs and ewe lambs will show together, yearlings or rams will not be allowed to show. No weight limit and the top three lambs of each class must weigh back within 5 pounds of the heaviest lamb in the class. Market lambs are to be slick shorn. Ewe lambs must have a scrapie tag. The following breeds may be shown: Southdown, Dorset, Shropshire, Speckle-faced, Hampshire, Natural Colored, Suffolk and Crossbreds. There must be at least four head of each breed in order for the breed to have its own show. Otherwise, they will show as crossbreds. BARROWS- Judge: Brian Anderson, Caney, Kansas The barrows must weigh 150-270 pounds and will be weighed prior to entering the ring. They must not weigh more than 10 pounds over the heaviest barrow in the class when they enter the ring. No watering of hogs from the time they enter the holding area until the class is done showing. Registration papers will not be required to show as purebreds. The following breeds may be shown: Berkshire, Chester, Duroc, Hampshire, Poland, Spot, York and Crossbreds. Water only on the hogs, no oil or other products, please. MARKET HOGS- Judge: TBA Barrows and gilts will show together as market hogs. Boars will not be allowed to show. If an exhibitor is to show his/her barrow in both shows, they must pay two entry fees The hogs must weigh 150-270 pounds and will be weighed prior to entering the ring. Heifers will show by age and registration papers will be checked Friday from 5-7pm only. Commercial heifers will show by weight and weight cards must be turned in by 7:00pm on Friday. Prospect and Market Steer cards must also be turned in by 7:00pm on Friday. Show order will be alphabetical with AOB showing last. The show management will reweigh any steer receiving premium money, allowing 5% for fill. All beef shows will be Blow & Show (No glue allowed) MARKET GOAT SHOW and BREEDING DOE SHOW- Judge: TBA Wethers & does will show together in the Market Show, bucks will not be allowed to show. Does will have their separate show with $300 added for Supreme Champion and $200 for Reserve Supreme Breeding Does! If an exhibitor is to show his/her doe in both shows, they must pay two entry fees.
