Introduction Welcome to the 2018 Bears Handbook. This is a guide for all newcomers to the club and in addition to this all members who would like information on the 2018 season. Please keep this throughout the year as a record of information for your use. A copy of this handbook will be available on the website. Who are we? South Tweed Junior Rugby League (the Bears) is one of the leading junior rugby league clubs in the Tweed Heads district which houses from the ages of 5-17. Our club has had a major impact in the development of rugby league in the Tweed Heads community since established in 1980. The club history and culture is rich and diverse with even some of our junior players going on to play at the top level in ARL/NRL. The South Tweed Bears are committed to helping the young people of the Tweed Heads region, not just into good football players but disciplined and well-mannered people of our community. We have had one of the biggest junior bases in the Group 18 Junior Rugby League competition over the last 10 years and are continually striving to improve on our skills and previous year s results.
