it is more than just an Empty Saturday at the Dome. It is a football program that has not been able to reach its full potential. The university has increased its financial support of Tulane Athletics and Tulane Football is a significant beneficiary. It is time for our support base to come together and do their part a gift to The Playbook Campaign directly supports Tulane Football. We can and will make this program more than it s ever been we can make it a consistent winner and a point of pride for Tulanians across the country.
Your Support Drives Us! There are multiple variables that determine our ability to resource our football program, such as Conference USA revenue distributions, university financial support, and gifts to our overarching fundraising arm, the Tulane Athletics Fund (TAF). Each of those are critical and have an impact on Tulane Football. However, The Playbook Campaign is focused on two areas that have an immediate and profound impact on Tulane Football. Your total gift will be split evenly between the Football Excellence Fund (FEF) and Football Season Tickets or Grow Up Green. Your support of these critical elements directly benefits Tulane Football in more ways than one. How Being a Playmaker Impacts Tulane Football Football Excellence Fund Proceeds to FEF go directly to Tulane Football and serve as a much-needed supplement to the program s budget. Since its inception in late 2007, FEF has provided support in the areas of additional summer school opportunities, recruiting budget growth and travel and equipment enhancements. * Football Season Tickets Following the review in 2003, leading up the 2005 season, and when Coach Bob Toledo was hired in 2007, season ticket sales for Tulane Football were on the incline. Since that time, however, through the combination of our support base facing their own personal rebuilding challenges, along with a lack of consistent success on the field, and playing in an increasingly sterile environment in the Superdome, ticket sales have slowly declined. Now is the time to put a halt to this trend and grow our season ticket base to levels never seen before. Growth in season ticket sales revenues will enable us to grow the football budget to even higher levels and will result in a more competitive home field advantage. *You may also decline receiving season tickets as part of your contribution and redirect the proceeds to Grow Up Green.
Grow Up Green Tulane Athletics and the Kate and Bob Devlin S-AFE Center are pleased to offer alumni, fans and friends across the country an opportunity to support Green Wave Athletics and the youth of New Orleans through the Grow Up Green program. Grow Up Green introduces the area youth to the college experience through attending games on campus and at the Superdome, spending time with Tulane student-athletes who act as mentors and learning how to prepare for college. How it works? 1 2 3 4 Donate the season ticket portion of your Playbook contribution to the Grow Up Green program The proceeds are used to support the Devlin S-AFE Center programs. Receive credit for a tax-deductible donation along with Tulane Athletics Fund (TAF) benefits. Frequently Asked Questions What if I already donate to the Football Excellence Fund (FEF) or buy football season tickets? We greatly appreciate your support of FEF and your purchase of season tickets. Your support allows us to take the next step forward. However, The Playbook Campaign is intended to create support above and beyond current levels. We hope you will continue to make your annual gift to FEF and renew your season tickets, but also urge you to make a separate gift to The Playbook Campaign. What is the Football Excellence Fund? The Football Excellence Fund (FEF) is a component of the Tulane Athletics Fund (TAF), which directly benefits Tulane Football. The Football Excellence Fund supplements Tulane Football s budget and enables key enhancements in such areas as recruiting, travel and summer school opportunities. Does the FEF portion of The Playbook Campaign directly benefit TU Football? Yes. 100% of the proceeds raised for the Football Excellence Fund are used to enhance Tulane Football. How is FEF different from TAF? All gifts to FEF are processed by the Tulane Athletics Fund, the fundraising arm for Tulane Athletics. While the Tulane Athletics Fund raises money for the improvement of all sports programs at Tulane University, FEF focuses specifically on improving the quality of our football program. Am I eligible for benefits? Yes, the portion of your gift that is allocated to FEF is eligible for benefits. Please visit www.tulaneathleticsfund.com for more information regarding FEF benefits. Where are the tickets located and when will they be mailed? If you already purchase season tickets, we will do our best to seat your additional tickets as close as possible to your currents seats. If you do not currently have season tickets and your Playbook Campaign gift includes sideline seats, the seats will be located on the lower level between the 30-yard line on the Tulane sideline. If your gift includes endzone seats, they will be located on the lower level in the corner or endzone. Your tickets will be mailed along with all other season tickets in August. If I already have season tickets or do not have a need for additional season tickets, can I donate my Playbook football season tickets back to the athletic department? Yes, you may donate your Playbook tickets back to Tulane Athletics through the Grow Up Green program. This program utilizes donated tickets to achieve the department's mission of bringing area youth to Green Wave athletic contests. Your tickets will be put to great use and you will receive tax-deductible credit as a gift to the Tulane Athletics Fund (TAF). What portion of my gift is tax-deductible? Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your gift to TAF Football Excellence Fund. General Rule: Your gift is deductible only to the extent the amount of your gift exceeds the value of any benefits you are entitled to in return for the gift. In order to make your gift 100% tax deductible, you must decline all benefits at the time of the gift by checking the appropriate box on the commitment form. In addition, you must donate your tickets to Tulane Athletics through the Grow Up Green program. If you do accept the season tickets, the maximum deductibility is 80% of your Football Excellence Fund gift. How can I make a donation to Tulane Athletics that will impact all student-athletes and programs?
