FDOT Broward County Traffic Report March 2 through March 9, 2018 FORT LAUDERDALE -- Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of March 2 through March 9. INTERSTATE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS 1.I-95 from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale Three northbound and three southbound lanes of I-95 between Broward Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed to all traffic Sunday night through Thursday night from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured off I-95 at Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to direct motorists. I-95 in both directions, from south of Davie Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard, will have intermittent shoulder and ramp shoulder closures, as needed, daily and nightly. The southbound I-95 exit ramp to Davie Boulevard will be closed Sunday night, March 11 through Thursday night, March 15 between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. One lane of the eastbound/westbound I-595 to northbound I-95 will be closed overnight Sunday, March 11 through Thursday night, March 15 between 11:30 p.m.and 5 a.m. each night. Advanced Notice: The southbound exit and entrance ramps at Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed intermittently11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 18 through Thursday, April 12. When closed, traffic will be detoured via I-95 to Sunrise Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

Advanced Notice: The southbound exit and entrance ramps at Sunrise Boulevard will be closed, as needed, 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 18 through Thursday, April 12. When closed traffic will be closed to either Broward Boulevard or Oakland Park Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Broward County. The scope of work includes adding a lane and converting the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to create two express lanes in each direction. Other work includes: installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and tolling equipment; widening bridges; and installing noise barrier walls at locations along I- 95 Southbound between Broward Boulevard and NW 6 th Street, and along I-95 Northbound between Powerline Road and Commercial Boulevard. Completion is expected in spring 2020. 2.I-95 from north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale to south of SW 10 th Street in Deerfield Beach Three northbound and three southbound lanes of I-95 between Commercial Boulevard and SW 10th Street will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. One lane in each direction of Atlantic Boulevard from Andrews Avenue to N. Dixie Highway will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. One lane in each direction of Copans Road between North Andrews Avenue and North Dixie Highway will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday One westbound lanes of Copans Road will be closed between North Andrews Avenue and North Dixie Highway Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. Sample Road at I-95 will be closed to all traffic overnight Sunday night through Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for bridge demolition and construction. Eastbound Sample Road traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Copans Road. Westbound Sample Road traffic will be detoured via I-95 and SW 10th Street. FHP will be on site to direct motorists Atlantic Boulevard at I-95 will be closed to all traffic overnight Sunday through Thursday night from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Eastbound Atlantic Boulevard traffic will be detoured via I-95 south to Cypress Creek Road. Westbound Atlantic Boulevard will be detoured via I- 95 north to Copans Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from westbound Atlantic Boulevard will be closed to all traffic overnight Sunday through Thursday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 to cypress Creek Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Atlantic Boulevard will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via N. Andrews Avenue. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. I-95 southbound exit ramp to Cypress Creek Road will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Cypress Creek Road will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound Atlantic Boulevard is completely closed through March 2018. Traffic is detoured to a temporary ramp just south of the closed ramp. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Andrews Avenue will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from north of Commercial Boulevard to south of SW 10 th Street in Broward County. The scope of work includes adding a lane and converting the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to create two express lanes in each direction. Completion is expected in spring 2020. 3.I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10th Street will be closed nightly, as needed, Sunday night through Thursday night through May between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured via Hillsboro Boulevard The outside lanes of southbound I-95 from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10th Street will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night with the first lane closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if necessary, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. Two westbound lanes of SW 10th Street at I-95 will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The sidewalk on the north side of SW 10th Street between SW 12th Avenue and SW Natura Boulevard is closed through February 2018. Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the south sidewalk Description: Construction on this 1.5-mile project began Monday, January 26, 2015. Work consists of widening southbound I-95 to add an auxiliary lane from the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance ramp to the SW 10 th Street exit ramp, widening the existing southbound I-95 exit ramp to SW 10 th Street, addition of a free flow right turn lane to westbound SW 10 th Street, widening of westbound SW 10 th Street to add an acceleration lane, utility relocation, milling and resurfacing, bridge widening, installation of barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs, signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, and retaining walls. This is the first of five interchange improvement projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Completion in spring 2018. 4.I-95 from south of SW 10 th Street in Deerfield Beach to south of Glades Road in Boca Raton I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound Hillsboro Bouelvard will be closed nightly 11 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 and Thursday, March 8. Traffic will be detoured via the I-95 northbound exit ramp to westbound Hillsboro Boulevard. Project Open House: FDOT and our project partners are holding a construction Open House to discuss new construction in this area that will extend the High Occupancy Tolled Express Lanes into south Palm Beach County. The Open House will be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Spanish River Library at 1501 Spanish River Boulevard, Boca Raton FL 33431. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from south of SW 10 th Street to south of Glades Road in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Scope of work includes widening and converting the existing I-95 HOV Lanes to Managed Lanes which will result in two tolled Express Lanes in each direction; the number of General Use lanes will remain the same. Other activities include reconstruction of I-95 on the northbound and southbound approaches to the Hillsboro Canal bridges, milling and resurfacing of I-95, construction of northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes between Hillsboro Boulevard and Palmetto Park Road, and construction of a northbound auxiliary lane between the SW 10 th Street entrance ramp and the Hillsboro Boulevard exit ramp. Other project improvements include: guardrail, barrier wall, attenuators, shoulder gutters, drainage, dredging of Hillsboro Canal, bridge widenings at Palmetto Park Road and Camino Real, bridge replacement at Hillsboro Canal, temporary and permanent retaining walls, noise wall construction, sign structures, portable traffic monitoring sites, toll gantry installation, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) installation, signing and pavement markings; Express Lane markers, lighting, ramp metering signals, utility relocation, and landscape relocation. Contract time for this $102 million project began Monday, July 10, 2017, with design activities currently underway. Construction began Monday, January 8, 2018. Completion is expected in spring 2022. 5.I-75 from NW 170 th Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County Segment A & B (NW 170 th Street in Miami-Dade County to South of Miramar Parkway in Broward County) Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be

closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed 10 p.m. Friday, March 2 to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 3. These lanes are also scheduled to close nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lanes will from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One northbound ramp lane of Florida s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One southbound ramp lane of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida s Turnpike will be closed daily Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The northbound ramp to I-75 from Florida s Turnpike will be closed 10 p.m. Monday, March 5 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 6. During this time, motorists wishing to use the northbound ramp to I-75 from Florida s Turnpike will be detoured to exit at US 27/Okeechobee Road (Exit 35), continue south on US 27/Okeechobee Road to NW 138th Street, and east on NW 138th Street to Hialeah Garden Boulevard to take the northbound entrance ramp to I-75. All northbound lanes on I-75 between Florida s Turnpike and Bass Creek Bridge will be closed 10 p.m. Monday, March 5 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 6. During this time, motorists wishing to travel northbound on I-75 between Florida s Turnpike and Bass Creek Bridge will be detoured to exit at Miami Gardens Drive (Exit 4), continue east on Miami Gardens Drive to Flamingo Road, north on Flamingo Road to Miramar Parkway, and west on Miramar Parkway to take the northbound entrance ramp to I-75. Segment C (South of Miramar Parkway to South of Sheridan Street) One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed nightly from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Pines Boulevard to north Pines Boulevard will be closed daily Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane

will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Pines Boulevard to north of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Pines Boulevard will be closed Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 3 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 7 a.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed daily Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of Miramar Parkway from west of I-75 to east of I-75 will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Segment D (South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road) One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road will be closed daily Saturday, March 3 through Saturday, March 10.
