Christmas Fest to Feature Ping Pong Prize Drop BAY MINETTE, Alabama An old favorite is returning to Christmas Fest this year as the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce plans a Ping Pong Prize Drop. The 31st annual Christmas Fest will be held Dec. 13-14 in downtown Bay Minette. Vendor booths are open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. On opening night, Santa Claus will arrive at 5:30 p.m. on top of the Bay Minette fire truck and will be tossing more than candy. Santa will drop 400 ping pong balls and those who collect numbered balls can redeem them for prizes. This will all happen during opening ceremonies of the festival. One hundred ping pong balls will be numbered, but the catch is you have to return to the festival on Saturday to claim your prize, said Ashley Jones, Marketing & Project Manager. This is one way we are bringing back a classic and encouraging more people to attend the festival on both days of the event. Jones said prizes range from bowling passes to a 1-year membership to North Baldwin Fitness Center. If you would like to make a donation for the prize drop, contact the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce at 251-937-5665. Christmas Fest weekend will be packed with activities and musical performances will be held both days. Other events planned include Pancakes with Santa, a 5K run and 1-Mile walk and a car show. The Christmas parade will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, beginning at Bay Minette Intermediate School.
