SHOW REGULATIONS DAIRY GOAT REGULATIONS 1. Dairy Goats must be penned by 9.00am. Judging starts 9.30am on Saturday, 17 October 2015 2. Classes marked with a * are Special Classes and goats entered in these classes must be exhibited in their appropriate breed classes. 3. Entry for stock vehicles is via Gate 6 St Albans Road, for delivery and collection of stock only. Parking is in the Members Carpark, Gate 4 Breakwater Road. Pedestrian Access is via Gate 3 Breakwater Road. 4. Exhibitors must wear white coats in the Judging Ring. 5. Classes may be amalgamated or separated at the Stewards or Judges discretion. 6. All goats must be registered in the Dairy Goat Society of Australia Herd Book as a Numbered or Appendix Section animal. 7. The Stewards reserve the right to inspect ear tattoos on exhibited stock at any time during the Show 8. Correct numbers for the stock exhibited must be worn in full view while in the show ring. 9. CAE and Johnes Disease negative show. Certificates, (less than 12 months old) must be supplied with entries. Goatlings & Bucklings to have at least one negative test and Kids under 12 months to go on dam s certificate. 10. DEFINITIONS: DOE: a female goat, any age, in milk, that has given birth to a kid. GOATLING: a female goat, unkidded, aged between 1 and 2 years at the date of the show. DOE KID: a female goat, unkidded, aged up to 1 year at the date of the show. BUCK: a male goat, over 2 years old at the date of the show. BUCKLING: a male goat, aged between 1 and 2 years old at the date of the show. BUCK KID: a male goat, aged up to 1 year old at the date of the show. GENERAL REGULATIONS 1. All Exhibits must be the bona-fide property of the Exhibitor at the close of entries. 2. All entries must be lodged on the Official Entry Form on or before the nominated closing date. 3. No Exhibit will be admitted onto the Showgrounds, unless Exhibitor Pass is presented at the gate. 4. Exhibitors will be required to place Exhibits as directed by the Stewards or the EO. 5. No Exhibitor will be allowed in the section of the building/yard (except by permission of RGAPS) in which the Exhibit is placed during adjudication; and it shall be the duty of Stewards to prevent any person interfering with the Judge, and if necessary, order the removal of such offenders. 6. No person, except Members and Non-Members, on payment of admission and those actually in charge of stock, implements or machinery, and for whom an authority must be obtained from the EO, will be permitted to remain in the yard during the judging, under any pretence whatsoever. The persons in charge must on no account leave their respective lots, or address the Judge, unless authorised by the Stewards. 7. Person(s) in charge of stock will be admitted free of charge on presentation at the gate of an Exhibitor(s) Pass, and they shall be subject to the order of the Stewards. 8. The Judge may award a Second prize instead of a First, or may withhold a prize altogether when he/she think there is not sufficient merit. Where only two Exhibits are entered prizes may be awarded if they think proper, to both Exhibits, provided such Exhibits are not the property of the same individual, unless otherwise specified. 9. Where Special prizes are offered in a Class, the First prize offered by RGAPS will be withdrawn unless otherwise specified. 10. If, in the opinion of the Judge, any exhibition of livestock is unsound, either temporary or otherwise, the opinion of the Honorary Veterinary Surgeon of RGAPS may be obtained before the prize is awarded. 11. The decision of the Judge as to the merits of Exhibits shall be final and without appeal. 12. Protests against awards based on non-compliance with the conditions of the Prize Schedule or the Regulations will be taken into consideration by RGAPS, if lodged with the EO by 3.00 pm on the day of the Show, or for Classes where a prize is not awarded on the first morning of Show, one hour after the Judge has made his award, together with $50 as a guarantee of the bona-fide of the protest. The money will be returned if the protest is found by RGAPS to be final and without appeal, excluding the dog section, which is affiliated with and controlled by the Rules of Dogs Victoria. 13. Exhibitors must give such information with regard to their Exhibits as RGAPS may require and submit Statutory Declarations with such information, and produce evidence if called upon by RGAPS. In case of non-compliance, the Exhibit may be disqualified and the prize withheld. RGAPS also has the right to refuse any entry and also refuse any Exhibit entered, the right to compete without giving any reason for same, provided the entrance money is returned. 14. RGAPS will not be responsible for Exhibits, but every reasonable care will be taken of the same. Page 7

15. No Exhibitor shall interfere with the Exhibits in ANYWAY whatsoever during the time the exhibition is open. Anyone interfering without the permission of the Stewards may be expelled from the Showgrounds. 16. No animals, implements etc. except those entered, will be allowed on the Showgrounds. 17. All vehicles bringing Exhibits to the yards must be removed from the yards after discharging their loads, or placed where directed by the Stewards of the Section. 18. No person shall have proprietorship for the time being in the pens that have been allotted to the stock entered by such person, and no one will be permitted to put any placard or advertisement on the ground without the consent of the Stewards. 19. Exhibitors must state as accurately as possible, at time of entry, the date of birth of all stock in classes where age is specified, and in all sheep classes, the time of last shearing. 20. Implements, machinery and commercial exhibits, livestock and general exhibits must be in their designated areas within the Showgrounds by 8.00am on the day of Show. 21. Any infringement of these Regulations may disqualify the Exhibitor from taking a prize. Any dispute as to the construction of these Regulations or the interpretation of the Prize Schedule shall be determined by RGAPS, whose decision is final and without appeal. 22. Dogs must be registered under the Regulations adopted by Dogs Victoria. 23. Water will be provided for stock exhibited, but Exhibitors must provide their own fodder. 24. RGAPS will not be held responsible in cases where wrong Class tickets have been given to Exhibitors after judging has commenced. It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to check section tickets with the Prize Schedule prior to the Show. 25. If, in the opinion of the Stewards, the conduct of any Exhibitor or any other person shall be such as to demand such a course, they shall have the power to forfeit any or all prizes such Exhibitors may have won, and may further cause such person or Exhibitor and Exhibit to be removed from the Showgrounds. 26. Beverages/Food brought onto the Showgrounds in glass containers is strictly forbidden. 27. If due to unforeseen circumstances sponsorship is not forthcoming for any sponsored class, the prizemoney/ prize may not be provided by RGAPS. 28. ENTRY FEES, PRIZEMONEY & OTHER CHARGES All entry fees as specified in Schedule must be paid at time of entry. Prizemoney is GST inclusive. If you are registered for GST, the onus is on the Exhibitor to remit GST to the ATO and provide RGAPS with a Tax Invoice. Any prize (trophy, voucher, etc.) awarded by RGAPS at any of their competitions and left unclaimed for a period of six months, will be forfeited and cancelled by the RGAPS Management Council. Any prizemoney cheques not presented within fifteen (15) months from the date of the Show will be cancelled by the RGAPS Management Council. 29. REFUND OF ENTRY FEES Entry fees for various categories are listed within Section Regulations. RGAPS will NOT refund monies overpaid by $10 or less. 30. ACCESS Access to/from Geelong Showgrounds after 9.00pm on each day of the Show: Pedestrian access is available for personnel exiting the Geelong Showgrounds from all gates between the hours of 9.00pm and 11.00pm. Vehicle access will be available to exit the Showgrounds, from Gate 6 between the hours of 9.00pm and 11.00pm, and thereafter, only from Gate 2 (Breakwater Road). No vehicle is permitted entry after 9.00am, except where appropriate vehicle passes have been provided and attached to the windscreen of the vehicle, otherwise entry will be refused. Gate instructions must be strictly adhered to. Security and Show Gate personnel have the right to enforce all Regulations in regard to gate access to the Geelong Showgrounds. 31. CONDUCT ON THE GEELONG SHOWGROUNDS Security and Show personnel have the right to enforce all Regulations and control in regard to people s behaviour and remove those persons as determined. Alcohol is not permitted to be brought into the Geelong Showgrounds. 32. PASSES FOR ATTENDANTS As many attendants as RGAPS may deem necessary will be allowed into the yards free to take charge of Exhibits, and passes will be issued on application to the EO. Passes are to be presented and officially marked at entrance gates. Page 8

33. INSURANCE Primary Producers who show their animals are required to have Public Liability Insurance. IMPORTANT NOTE The Royal Geelong Agricultural & Pastoral Society Inc will not be held liable for any injuries that may be suffered by a person or persons taking part in functions on behalf of an Exhibitor. RGAPS has the sole responsibility to supply attendants to take charge and control of all his/her entries. It is the owner s responsibility to provide security to ensure their animals are kept safe and secure for the duration of their time on the Geelong Showgrounds SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR EXHIBITORS 1. DUTY OF CARE: All Exhibitors have a Duty of Care to avoid exposing themselves or other people to situations that could lead to injury. This Duty of Care extends to the prevention of damage to property. 2. EMERGENCY INFORMATION: Emergency information and maps showing Emergency Assembly Points are located in the various animal pavilions and buildings. Exhibitors should be familiar with these plans. 4. FIRST AID: During the Royal Geelong Show, Event First Aid Services provides First Aid Services. 5. EMERGENCY FACILITIES: Fire fighting and other emergency equipment must not be removed or used for any other purpose. Missing or unserviceable equipment should be reported to Section/Pavilion Supervisor or Administration immediately. 6. HAZARD & INCIDENT REPORTING: Exhibitors must notify the Section/Pavilion Supervisor or Administration immediately of any hazards detected or incidents. Hazards or incidents are any situation that could result or has resulted in: (a) the injury, illness or death of any person or animal (b) the damage, destruction or loss of property. 7. WASTE DISPOSAL: All waste, including liquids, must be disposed of responsibly. Storm drains must not be used for the disposal of waste. 8. HOUSEKEEPING: All areas must be kept clean and tidy with clearly defined and available access and exit routes at all times. Build up of combustible waste must be avoided at all times. 9. SLIPS, TRIPS & FALLS: Care must be taken to minimize trip hazards and obstacles that people may walk into. Avoid laying unprotected cables or pipes on or above paths, walkways or roads 10. MEDIA COMMENTS: Media comment about matters involving RGAPS or the Showgrounds is coordinated by the EO. 11. SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted inside buildings, within 10m of a building entrance, around combustibles, during public performances or while handling hazardous materials. 12. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT Exhibitors should supply their own Safety Switch (RCD) for installation at each power outlet they use. Extension cords must be earthed and all electrical appliances must be earthed or double insulated. Appliances must be in a sound working order. The use of double adapters is strictly prohibited. Power boards must be fitted with current overload protection. Radiant electric or gas heaters are prohibited. Light sockets must not be used for any other purpose than for lighting. No naked flames are permitted. All Exhibitor electrical items, including leads must have a current safety compliance tag. Page 9
