PRESIDENT S REPORT Well the 50 th celebration is over and what a night. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and from the positive emails I have personally received it seems that this was the case. I know Mike and his committee have also received many congratulations. The Easter Car Parking has gone off well and although we lost two days where we couldn't use the park and the fact that part was closed due to storm damage we have done pretty well. Our guest speaker on Tuesday was very interesting. Sharon gave a great talk and no doubt has got some of us off our backsides to ensure we have all bases covered. Our next guest speaker will be on May 16 th and will be from Beyond Blue an Organisation Lions Australia has an association with. The long awaited kitchen has arrived and under Ian McKay's guidance will be installed in the next few weeks. Also the concrete apron outside the shed is due to commence in the short term. We now have to look at replacing the roof on the Den and quotes are being sought for this. It will only get done if we can obtain a suitable grant. We have a Bunnings Sausage sizzle coming up on Saturday 6 May and thank you to those who have placed their name on the roster. Gary and the team will be busy on Anzac Day with all sale and donation proceeds going to Legacy. A big welcome to our transfers in from Peregian John Crossley, Ross Paine and Vivien Collins. Members Development day will be held at Cooroy Pomona Club rooms on Saturday 27 May and can be attended by anyone but in particular incoming President, incoming Secretary and incoming Treasurer and incoming Membership Chair President Dave Watts.

Watch These Spaces. The kitchen has arrived it is in pieces soon to be put together after we fix the leak over the old bench. Things are never as easy as some would like. When Council deposits the money into our account, work will begin on the concrete apron in front of the shed. Dinner Meeting 18-4-17 Lola introduced our guest speaker. Our guest speaker was Sharon Tregoning from Palliative Care. Sharon spoke of advance care planning. Her aim is to bring dying and death out of the closet and emphasized how important it
is to discuss your wishes with family. Plus planning re legal documents such as Enduring Power of Attorney and Advanced Health. When you win the raffle you have to tell a little story about yourself. Louise arrived from New Zealand approximately 20years ago and has been a Lion for ten years. She now has her hands full looking after Bill plus combined they have 9 children plus 22 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Easter Car Parking Bill and Louise seeing off their grandchildren Car parking at Easter was successful in spite of Debbie. We lost two days of parking and Council closed off part of the park but our average was still 30 cars up on last Easter and all Lions volunteers were kept busy. The best part of the project was the response to the roster with 39 members participating and no-one having to do more than 2 shifts. So a big thank you to all volunteer car park attendants. We also look like doing the car parking again for the Wine & Food event in May so watch out for the roster request from President David. I will be skiing in St Moritz (not really but I hope to have lunch there one day on my OS trip). Again thank you to the supervisors Peter O, Michael O B and Pres Dave Chief Car Parking Attendant Paul.
We had a most successful working session @ Grants today Thursday 27 th April. Luffy holding new wall up With the wonderful help of Ian McKay & John Pritchard we were able to close in the Eastern side of the carport & to make one return trips from the lockup with Grant s treasures. We have one more trip to the lockup tomorrow Friday @ 9am & this will complete the transfer of all gear back to Grant s home. (The lockup has been made possible with the wonderful assistance from Noosa Van Lines). The time slipped by today at a steady pace ably assisted by Grant who kept us entertained all morning with a rolling conversation & a good laugh. Grant also provided us with morning tea & ANZAC Biscuits. Talk about the ANZAC S, Grant is also a KIWI. Morning tea not quite up to the standard set by Camille but still most welcome. the spring. For the next working bee we decided that the front lawn looked quite tidy & no extra work is required now until Once again thank you to everyone for your help & best wishes. Another successful day accomplished. Kind regards Luffy Note: Luffy s poor little ute was overweight and it did a great job.
Anzac Day 25 th April. Thanks go to Bill and Luffy for bringing the van down to the park and setting up the power. Photo: Gary, Karl, Jan & Dagmar Unfortunately, Karl got ill and had to go home.
