LOS ANGELES ANGELS PAGE SPRING TRAINING REVIEW CACTUS LEAGUE the Mariners completed Cactus League play with an record (.438) opened spring training in first 22 games, but 3-7 over the final 10 games ended the spring with consecutive wins over the Colorado Rockies in exhibition games posted a 10-6 record in home games and when the road team had a 3-1 record in night games, compared to a mark in day games. SPRING SHUTOUTS recorded a pair of shutouts during Cactus League play, 4-0 vs. Oakland (3/18) and 8-0 vs. Texas (3/22) marked the first time since 2011 to record multiple spring shutouts (had 3 in 2011). FIT FOR A TIE recorded a pair of ties, March 17 at Chicago White Sox (5-5) and March 20 at Texas (4-4) marks the seventh time in the last eight springs to record at least one tie the Mariners now have 30 ties in spring club history (2 in regular season). THE HITTERS ranked 10th among American League teams with a.265 batting average had the 5th-best slugging percentage (.439) and 7th-best OPS (.763) recorded double-digits in hits in 16 of 32 games. EXTRA-BASE HITS ranked 3rd among American League teams and 5th in the Cactus League (7th overall in MLB) with 107 extra-base hits recorded 59 doubles (10th in AL), 15 triples (1st in AL and 33 home runs (T3rd in AL).
