4 016 Skills Competition Hitting Rules Hitting Skill - All s (Boys and Girls) 1 Each player is allowed four hits for distance from a stationary tee. Players or Parents may adjust the height of the tee. 3 The balls used must be supplied by the SBL 4 Softballs are for girls who play softball. Baseballs are for Tball and baseball players. Girls Baseball Softball Size Size Tball 1, 9" PW 1, 9" 10" Minor 1, 9" 11" Major 1,, 3 9" 11" Confirm the player's division by their score sheet or via the coach/player Use the correct ball per division. 6 016 Skills Competition Running Rules Running Skill - All s (Boys & Girls) 1 Each player will be timed running from a designated starting line per each division to home plate. Ensure the player is at the correct station and is starting from the correct line The running distances are as follows: Majors = 160 feet Minors = 140 feet PeeWee = 10 feet TBall = 10 feet 3 Each player must start behind the starting line. If a throw down base is used to designate the starting line, the player must start behind the base. The player may not start or lead off on the base like a runner in a game. 4 Each player is allowed ONE false start. nd false start results in a score of 40 points. After a player starts successfully they must complete the course for their time. If a player falls or trips they must complete the course for their time. A second run is not allowed. 5 Each player must touch the bases in the base path between the starting line and home plate. A one second penalty will be added for each missed base. 6 NO SLIDING ALLOWED! 7 Total time will be posted on the score sheet and converted to a point total Scoring: the raw time will be converted to a score per a scoring table for final scoring. Stop Watch operators need to be very careful to start the clock on "Go" and stop the clock when the player touches home plate! Be consistent! Really fast times can result in really high scores Please be consistent and accurate to assure fairness and please write legibly.
