4 The South Carolina Independent School Association 2016 State High School Baseball Play-offs Baseball Play-off Reminders: Home Team shall contact the visiting team to provide directions and game information. Game Time - Both schools can mutually agree to a game time. - Scheduled Double-Header: schools may mutually agree to a start time. If not, Game #1 shall be scheduled for 4:00 PM. Game #2 to follow. The Home Team will need to secure a field with lights for the Double-header. If you split the DH, game #3 is at the lower seed. - Home/Home/Neutral Series: schools may mutually agree to a start time. If they disagree, the Home Team can declare an afternoon game (5:00) or a night game (6:00). It is highly recommended that the Home Team take into consideration possible rain delays or extra innings when establishing game time. Schools using fields without lights may subject the visiting team to travel hardships due to the lack of lights in these cases. Games played on field without lights must start before 6:00 PM. DH = Double-Header. Both games shall be 7 innings. All Speed-up Rules are in effect, including 15 and 10-Run Rule. In the Double-Header, the Home Team is the Home Team for Both Games. Pitching Restriction for the Best of Three Series beginning with the Double Header only: No pitcher may pitch more than 8 innings in two consecutive days. Home/Away/Neutral. Pitching Restriction: 10 innings in three consecutive calendar days. The schools may mutually decide on the third game neutral site or SCISA will select a site. In case of rain, the game will be played the next playable day. Note that the next round of the play-offs will not be pushed back due to one rain-out. It shall be considered a complete game after either 4 1/2 innings (if the home team is ahead) or after 5 complete innings, if the contest is stopped for rain, darkness (not for a mechanical problem). If a game is stopped due to weather conditions before the 4 1/2 or 5 inning rule, then a suspended game shall be called. The contest will be resumed from the point it was suspended.. Home Teams shall file a Financial Statement for each Home Game, all rounds. SPORTSMANSHIP: Coaches are reminded to make sure that chatter from their team bench is positive and supporting their team not taunting the other team. Designated Reps should introduce themselves to each other and be proactive during the game.
