2 LaDawn Bisson 2014 Measures of central tendency: a measure used to describe data; the mean, median, and mode are measures of central tendency Mean: the sum of all the data, divided by the number of data (the average) Median: the middle number in a set of data when the data are arranged in order; if there are two middle numbers, add and divide by two Mode: the number that occurs most often in a set of data (There can be more than one mode or no mode.) Range: the difference between the largest number and the smallest number in a set of data
