Ride and re- ride sections, get line and technique advice, and get the course dialed for the weekend. All levels welcome! 2 PM start, 2 hour clinic. 3 45+ women series junior women cat 3 men cat 3 men series Elite races immediately following their finish Cat 4/5, Cat 4/5 35+, and Cat 4/5 juniors (men and women) where applicable will race together as one category, with a second set of results for the 35+ and junior riders. Riders entering the Elite Women, U23 Women, Elite Men, and U23 Men races MUST have a UCI/USCF International license. UCI rules apply. No flat bars or tires wider than 33mm. A domestic USA Cycling license is acceptable for other categories, and is run under USAC permit. Mountain bikes without bar ends are allowed in USAC classes This race is part of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC) Cyclocross Series. If you are a current full- time student at an ECCC school, you are eligible for competition in the series. Collegiate riders race within the Men's Elite, 3, or Cat 4 and Women's Elite and 3/4 races and will be scored both within those fields and within their corresponding collegiate categories. To be eligible for collegiate scoring, riders must register under their proper collegiate team name and race in their collegiate team kit. NOTE: You will be racing in a USAC race not a Collegiate race. Therefore you must have a USAC license, with the proper category noted, to race at Cycle- Smart International. If you do not have a current USAC license you may purchase one online at USACycling.org or on site. The cost of a USAC "add- on" license is $55. For separate starts, groups are staged with a gap, stay where they are on the line, and are started at 60- second intervals. Call Ups/Start Order: In all non- elite categories, race number will line up all riders. For UCI categories (Elite Men and Women), race numbers will be assigned by reserved top 20 ProCX numbers, then UCI points, then random drawing of lots. For USAC categories that score Verge Series points, race numbers will be assigned by Verge Series points for 8 riders/one row, then crossresults.com rankings, then order of registration. For the Cat 4/5 races, numbers will be assigned by crossresults.com rankings, then order of registration. 4 Pre- registration only for UCI classes. Race day registration is available for all other open fields, with a $10 late fee. Online registration closes on Wednesday, November 4th, at 12 Noon. Absolutely no refunds. Online service fee applied based on Bikereg standard service fee rates. Held under UCI and USAC Permits Please note you will be using the same set of numbers for both Saturday AND Sunday. So hang onto them! Number pick up opens at 6:30 am and closes 30 minutes before each event. Failure to pick up your number at least 30 minutes prior to your event will result in your number being reassigned. Kids races begin at 1:30PM in the expo area. Please register your kids so we know whom to expect. The races will be broken up into kids/ youth races 3-5, 6-8, and The kids/ youth races are FREE and will be 1-5 laps. We are limiting the field to 50 so be sure to register early. All kids bikes are allowed including pushbikes, bikes with training wheels, and pedal bikes. Helmets are required! Lodging: The Quality Inn is providing a great rate for racers attending NohoCX. Please call the hotel directly at the number below and ask for the Cycle- Smart Company Rate. The special NohoCX rate for the Quality Inn is $80.00 Sunday through Thursday and $99.00 on Friday and Saturday. Bridge Rd. ends at Look Park. Take a left on Rt. 9, and an immediate right into the park. Traveling north on I- 91, take exit 19 and continue straight on to Damon Rd., which becomes Bridge Rd. Bridge Rd. ends at Look Park. Take a left on Rt. 9, and an immediate right into the park. Showers: Showers are available at the JFK School Aquatic Center from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., anyone using the showers must be out of the building by 5:00. Access is from the

5 back of JFK near the tennis courts - through the glass triple doors. Racers must check in at the pool office. Rules: This event is held under UCI and USCF permits and governed by UCI and USCF rules. UCI rules can be downloaded here. Pit Passes will be distributed at registration to each competitor (one per entrant) in UCI events (Elite Men, U23, Elite Women, Juniors). In non- UCI events, common sense will be the rule. The Pit Official will have full authorization to deny access to any person who interferes or hinders operations in the pit. 6 Course: The course starts at the top of the course map, in the grass adjacent to Club Row, and enters the paved finish stretch both days. Day 1: Passing through the finish line on Day 1, the course loops around a small section of grass before heading to a steep loose run up to the top level of the course. On the top level the course skirts the top of the bluff, dips in front of the gazebo then turns diagonally down the slope of the bluff back to the lower level. The course then skirts the railroad tracks and heads into a straight sandpit, which may be a run. Exiting the sand, the course heads back towards the tracks then turns right into the main field area. A wide, 180- degree turn brings riders into pit 1. Passing through the pit the course crosses the railroad tracks, turns left, and follows the inside of the tracks to a series of turns, setting up for another railroad crossing and a steep hill that may be a ride or run depending on conditions. At the top of the hill riders enter a pine forest section with numerous bumps and roots. Winding through the trees the riders pass over gravel path, hard pack, and pavement, eventually paralleling the park road. Turning away from the park road the course descends a winding gravel path back towards the third and fastest rr crossing. Back on grass the course heads left to the main parking area and crosses the rr one last time. A sweeping left turn on grass brings the riders along the expo area and towards a single set of 40 cm planks, 5

7 meters apart. Passing the planks the course doubles back on itself with another sweeping 180- degree turn and heads back towards the railroad tracks. Turning to follow the tracks again a series of decreasing radius turns bring the riders to pit 2. Passing pit 2, the course bends towards the finish stretch but first goes through one last series of turns ending up at club row once again. Course distance is approximately 3.3km. Day 2: Day 2's course uses many of the same lanes, but with a single passage from the lower field to the upper section. Many sections of travel are reversed, and sections of the course are connected in different places for a course with similar feel but very different challenges. Course distance is approximately 3km. Club Row: Any club with riders registered in the race can also purchase a team tent area in Club Row, as noted on the Course Map page. Each spot includes premier parking along the start/finish stretch, one reserved parking spot, and a 10 x 10 area on grass directly in front of the parking spot. Clubs may purchase multiple spots on our Registration page. The price is $50 for the weekend, and spots are limited. Individual riders will not be prohibited from utilizing pop up tents as space allows adjacent to their vehicle in normal parking areas around the park.

8 Team Parking: For larger teams with a trailer or who need more space, team parking is available, and includes a 10 x 30 footprint, and parking for a truck and trailer, for $100. Expo Area: Businesses who wish to display and sell at the event can purchase a 10 x 10 area located in the expo area as noted on the Course Map page. The price is $250 for the weekend, and spots are limited. All options can be purchased directly on the event registration back on Bikereg.com.
