1 To: Chavez Community From: Alison Zgainer, Chief Accountability Officer : June 18, 2018 Re: Lead Testing Results Like you, we consider the health and safety of our students to be our foremost priority. Water sources in each building had filters installed by SALUT, and in April 2018, the water was tested for lead in a variety of water outlets throughout each of the three buildings to ensure its safety. Capitol Hill, Chavez Prep and Parkside Middle results came back and no additional action was needed because the water was deemed healthy for consumption. There was one location (food prep sink) at Parkside High School that had higher lead levels that was shut off and the filter was replaced. After SALUT replaced the filter, it was re-tested and confirmed that the water from that outlet was also safe for consumption by the Chavez community.
