2 WELCOME TO UTAH! On behalf of the Utah Olympic Oval Organizing Committee and US Speedskating, we are thrilled to be hosting the ISU World Cup Speed Skating Final competition. We extend a warm Utah welcome as 120 participants from 25 different countries descend upon the Utah Olympic Oval, home to the Fastest Ice On Earth. These events would not be possible without the support and guidance of the International Skating Union, the governing body of our sport, and we thank them for their trust and confidence in our venue, staff and volunteers over the years. We appreciate the continued support we receive from local spectators, community representatives and our sponsors. Our continued success is a direct byproduct of the passion and countless hours donated by our volunteers. A special thank you to our technical volunteer team who commit hours to ensuring this event s success. 7 ABOUT THE OLYMPIC OVAL Utah Olympic Oval is a place of inspiration and accomplishment, where junior and elite athletes from around the world come together to train. Today, Utah Olympic Oval is an Official U.S. Olympic Training Site, dedicated to the growth and development of ice sports. The Olympic Oval offers close to five acres of training space featuring a 400m oval, two international-sized ice sheets as well as a 442-meter state of the art running track with eight 110-meter sprint lanes. From international competitions to year-round youth and adult sport programs, Utah s Olympic legacy continues as we share our love for winter recreation. Utah Olympic Oval welcomes visitors with public skate sessions, opportunities to learn-to-skate, play ice hockey and try curling, as well as gather with ample meeting space. We grow and nurture a sport where all ages can experience the thrill of speed and the camaraderie of the skating community. US Speedskating is responsible for the development of speed skating from grassroots to the highest elite racing programs. US Speedskating is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and the International Skating Union as the governing body for the sport of speed skating in the United States.
