2 Minnesota Elections 2016 Electoral College Assembly On December 19, 2016, Minnesota s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party electors met in St. Paul to cast their votes for Hillary Clinton of New York for president and Tim of Virginia for vice president. This assembly was the fortieth time Minnesota electors have cast votes for president. Pictured are (L to ): Fred Knudsen, oger Gehrke, aymond Hess, Marge Hoffa, Secretary of Steve Simon, Jill Garcia, Betsy O Berry, Mike Wammer, Mary Murphy, Sherrie Pugh, and Jules Goldstein. Muhammad Abdurrahman, the elector originally designated from Congressional 5, was replaced by Jill Garcia after he failed to cast his ballot for the candidate to whom he was pledged, which is required under Minnesota law.
