2 Situtated on a five acre campus in the heart of Douglas, our school has been a centre for learning for over 100 years. Our most important resource is our staff, the principal, class teachers, and learning support teachers. We also have in addition, classroom assistants, administrative and maintenance staff. Our aim is to help each pupil in our care to grow and develop in a stimulating and enriching environment, so that his full potential is realised. St. Columba s has a strong sporting tradition. Given the tradition of the GAA in the Douglas area and its importance to the local community, both hurling and football are developed by our talented teaching staff in partnership with Douglas GAA club.

I hope to play for Cork when I m older. My name is Rory Doyle. I am eleven years old. I have one brother and one sister and we live in Douglas. I play mid-field for St. Columba s. I also play hurling and soccer. My favourite TV show is south Park. My name is Oliver Murphy. I am eleven years old and I am in 6 th class. I have been training to make the school panel for four years. I play rugby with Cork Constitution. I also like to play hurling and basketball.

8 Message from the Principal I am very proud that once again we have reached a Sciath na Scol Roinn A Football Final. Sciath na Scol is a great competition and to reach the final is an added bonus. It gives the whole school community a great sense of pride and excitement. We have an outstanding record in this competition and hopefully this will continue on Wednesday 16 th November in Páirc Uí Rinn. I take this opportunity to thank our boys on the panel for their tremendous commitment and efforts in representing the school and reaching the final. Special thanks to our Deputy Principal, Mr. Bernard Lynch, Mr. O Connor, and Mr Eddie Murphy for their involvement in training the team.
