3 1. INTRODUCTION Woodside Energy (Myanmar) Pte Ltd (Woodside) is the Operator of Block A-7, with equity interests of 45%, in a joint venture with BG Exploration & Production (Myanmar) Pte Ltd (45%), and Myanmar Petroleum Exploration & Production Co. Ltd (1%). As Operator, Woodside conducted multiple marine surveys in block A-7 over a period between 8 December 215 and 11 April 216. These activities included the Thazin 3D Marine Seismic Survey (Thazin MSS), Sabae 2D Marine Seismic Survey (Sabae MSS) and the A-7 Seafloor Sampling Survey (A-7 SSS). The Thazin MSS acquired data over blocks AD-5, A-7, and A-6, however, the scope of this report is limited to block A-7. Marine fauna observations and fishing vessel sightings reported will include observations made across blocks AD-5 and A-7. The A-7 Initial Environmental Examination s (IEE) Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) was successfully implemented and all activities are now complete. 1.1 Purpose This End of Survey Environmental Report has been prepared by Woodside for submission to Myanmar Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC) to fulfil the requirement for an End of Survey Environment Report and MMO Final Report detailed in the A-7 IEE. 2. Section 4 provides a summary of Marine fauna observations, and Section 5 for fishing vessel sightings recorded during the survey. As this was not a seismic survey, no marine fauna observers (MFOs) were required onboard the vessel. Section 5 provides a summary of fishing vessel sightings recorded during the survey. Contact Person Daniel Clery Daniel.clery@woodside.com.au THAZIN MSS MFO MITIGATION SUMMARY 3.1 Summary information The first soft start was prior to the first shot of sequence 1 of the Thazin MSS, which started at 19:36 UTC on the 8 th December 215 ( N, E). Two Marine Fauna Observers (MFO) and two Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) operators were responsible for mitigation monitoring and compliance in relation to Woodside s commitment to manage marine noise. The MFO and PAM operators employed during the MSS had more than two years professional field experience with MFO/PAM, and a degree or post-graduate qualification in Environmental Science or Marine Science, or were Certified Marine Mammal Observers, or both. Commitments implemented included voluntary adoption of best practice procedures, as outlined in the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) Guidelines (August 21), and a shutdown protocol for whales, dugongs, sea turtles and whale sharks observed within 5 metres (m) of the active acoustic source. The PAM system was monitored 24 hours/day and one MFO was on duty at all times during daylight hours. No marine fauna injuries or fatalities occurred as a result of the Thazin MSS. The MFOs concluded their watch at 4:34 UTC on 11 April 215 ( N, E), once the vessel had left the acquisition area. 3.2 Weather conditions Overall, visibility conditions were good (i.e. visibility extending more than 5 km) 94% of the survey time, moderate (i.e. 1-5 km) 3.7% of the survey time and poor (i.e. less than 1 km) 2.3% of the survey time. The majority of the poor conditions were because of low light when observations were conducted in the early morning (23:-:3 UTC), or late evening (11:4-12:15 UTC). Only four minutes of effort were conducted in poor conditions during daylight hours because of heavy precipitation, and no marine fauna observations were made all day on either of those two occasions (4/12/15: 1:26-1:28 and 2/2/16: 12:8-12:1). 3.3 Mitigation actions There were no shutdowns during seismic acquisition, and no delayed soft starts reported during the Thazin MSS, which ranged across blocks A-7 and AD-5. A total of 227 different marine fauna groups were observed/detected. Of these, 134 groups were observed/detected whilst the seismic source was active (i.e. 128 observations during full power, six observations during soft start) and 93 visual observations whilst there was no seismic source activity (e.g. during a line change) Page 4 of 3

5 3.4 Location, time and distance of marine fauna sightings The date, time, range and species of all Thazin MSS marine fauna sightings are provided in Appendix 2. The MSS resulted in four new cetacean occurrence records for Myanmar waters. Overall, the vast majority of sightings during the survey were of dolphins (Figure 1). The number of sightings varied over the MSS. However, based on the data collected, it cannot be concluded if this is due to a spatial or temporal effect, or both (Figure 2). A seismic vessel is constantly moving while acquiring data. Therefore observations only occur in the immediate vicinity of the vessel at one time. The MFO data represents observations at a single point in time in the block. It cannot be interpreted if an increase in sightings was due to marine fauna presence increasing or decreasing over time, or due to the presence of marine fauna in a particular section of block A-7. SABAE MSS MFO MITIGATION SUMMARY 4.1 Summary information Marine mammal monitoring was carried out on board the seismic vessel and chase vessels of the Sabae MSS from 1 April 216 to 24 April 216. Two Marine Fauna Observers (MFO) and one Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) operator were responsible for mitigation monitoring and compliance in relation to Woodside s commitment to manage marine noise. The MFO and PAM operators employed during the MSS had more than four years professional field experience with MFO/PAM, and a degree or post-graduate qualification in Environmental Science or Marine Science, or were Certified Marine Mammal Observers, or both. No marine fauna injuries or fatalities occurred as a result of the MSS. 4.2 Weather conditions Conditions for visual observations were generally excellent, with low winds, resulting in predominantly slight seas and a low swell for the majority of the survey. 4.3 Mitigation actions A total of 46 source initiations occurred during the MSS, with 2 test firings and 26 full survey lines. Twenty-eight soft-starts were initiated, with all reaching full power. Compliance with total soft start time (start of soft start to full power) was excellent; all soft-start operations were within the minimum required 2-4 minutes. A single mitigation was required, when a gun test was delayed by 1 minutes by the presence of unidentified dolphins, detected acoustically. 4.4 Location, time and distance of marine fauna sightings The date, time, range and species of all Sabae MSS marine fauna sightings are provided in Appendix 1. Overall, the vast majority of sightings during the survey were of dolphins (Figure 3). The number of sightings varied over the MSS. However, based on the data collected, it cannot be concluded if this is due to a spatial or temporal effect, or both (Figure 4). A seismic vessel is constantly moving while acquiring data. Therefore observations only occur in the immediate vicinity of the vessel at one time. The MFO data represents observations at a single point in time in the block. It cannot be interpreted if an increase in sightings was due to marine fauna presence increasing or decreasing over time, or due to the presence of marine fauna in a particular section of block A Page 8 of 3

SUMMARY OF FISHING VESSEL SIGHTINGS RECORDED During the Thazin and Sabae MSS, and A-7 SSS, there were 31 fishing vessel and fishing gear sightings recorded within and near block A-7 (Figure 12). No grievances were recorded. The majority of fishing equipment was found drifting in the ocean, with no apparent owner. Through consultation, it was determined that most vessels originated from Dawei, Tha Mote Sike, or Maung Ma Kan, and were fishing for tuna Page 11 of 3

13 6. STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT Woodside, on behalf of the joint venture, conducted extensive consultation in accordance with the A-7 IEE. Stakeholders were identified at three levels Union (country/national level), regional (Ayeyarwady region) and Local (town and village-tract levels). Stakeholder groups included Government, civil society and institutions and potentially affected people in local communities. Consultation occurred across all key phases; to inform the IEE, to gather baseline data and for disclosure of the IEE. Information about activities, including key safety requirements was provided as part of community consultations and throughout the activity (See Figure 13 below). During the activity, Woodside had a community liaison officer and a grievance mechanism in place. No grievances were recorded.
