3 STEP UP TO THE PLATE Thank you for signing up to host a Fish Supper for the RNLI! We re excited to have you onboard with this year s event as we raise vital funds that will help save more lives. From October, you can invite friends and family round for a night of delicious food, laughter and games. This pack has tips and recipes to make your night a big success, including a handy donation box to collect those all-important contributions. Don t worry if you can t host yours during the event weekend. You can hold a supper at any time just remember to send in your fundraising money by 25 November 2017.

4 Hope it all goes swimmingly! YOUR FISH SUPPER CHECKLIST Don t forget to ask about any allergies your guests may have. The RNLI and Fish Supper partners are here to support you every step of the way as you plan and host your supper. That s why we have put together a collection of handy tips to help you make a big splash when your guests arrive for supper. RIGHT NOW Invite your guests. Call up the usual suspects, there s a Fish Supper to be served! We ve provided invites in this pack. If you need more invites please visit our Get Inspired page on RNLI.org/FishSupper. 2 WEEKS BEFORE Confirm the final guest list and note any special dietary requirements, particularly relating to fish. Get inspired with our selection of mouth-watering recipe ideas. You ll find some here in your pack and even more at RNLI.org/FishSupper. 1 WEEK BEFORE Do a rigorous inventory of your tableware, cutlery, chairs and amusing anecdotes. Stock up as necessary. Make a shopping list and cooking schedule. 2 DAYS BEFORE Do your big shop, not forgetting the drinks. Vacuum the carpet, dust the picture frames, give the dog a makeover. Call your guests to remind them of your Fish Supper date, and check they can still make it. 1 DAY BEFORE Prepare any overnight marinades or sauces and refrigerate. Compile your exclusive Fish Supper playlist. Trawl your music collection for songs inspired by the sea or fish! Do a last-minute dash for any missing items forgotten in the big shop. THE DAY OF YOUR FISH SUPPER Thaw the fish, if frozen. Put the cat out, if watching, get cooking! Lay the table, light the candles, put out the place names, not forgetting the donation box. Put on the music, get dressed up, and have fun. THE DAY AFTER Thank your guests for coming and donating. Keep an eye out for your paying in reminder and send your donations by 25 November. 6 HOW TO ASK FOR CONTRIBUTIONS BEFORE YOUR SUPPER If your guests haven t already heard of RNLI Fish Supper, explain when you invite them that it s for a good cause and that you ll be collecting donations. Maybe even share with them the target you re hoping to reach for the evening. To show them how the funds help the RNLI, show them this book or point them to RNLI.org/FishSupper. COLLECTING DONATIONS ON THE NIGHT When everyone s been introduced and has a drink in their hand, say a few words about your inspiration behind hosting the evening, declare your Fish Supper open, and invite them to make their donations using the box included in this pack. SHARE YOUR FISH SUPPER If you want to share your culinary creations, we d love to see a slice of your supper.
