3 NENY PGA Hall of Fame: Eligibility & Nomination Info The NENY Section PGA Hall of Fame recognizes extraordinary careers by paying tribute to those individuals who have served the Section in an exemplary manner, set standards for promoting the game, are recognized as outstanding players and/or have contributed in a special way to the growth and heritage of the Section as well as to their own communities. Following are the eligibility and procedure requirements to follow when nominating an individual for the NENY PGA Hall of Fame. ELIGIBILITY A nominee must be at least 50 years old, may be male or female, may be from either the United States or another country and may or may not now be active in golf. A nominee need not necessarily be or have been an outstanding player and an individual s overall contribution to golf may be considered as a valid reason for nomination. A nominee should be, or have been, a member in good standing in the NENY Section for a minimum of 10 CONSECUTIVE years. If nominated on the basis of his or her playing record only, it is recommended nominations be made only on the basis of having won a minimum of three major competitions, which would include the Section Stroke Play Championship, Section Match Play Championship, NY State Open, Low Qualifier in the Section USGA Open or NY State Amateur. PROCEDURE 1. A nominee may be proposed, in writing, to the NENY Section Office (418 Consaul Road, Schenectady, NY 12304), by any member of the NENY Section. 2. The name and qualifications of each nominee will be forwarded by the Section Office staff to the Section Officers, all members of the Executive Committee, and all living members of the Hall of Fame. 3. Voting will be secret. No one entitled to vote will receive more than one ballot. The votes will be returned to the Section Office staff. The Section Office staff will tabulate the votes. 4. Any nominee who receives two-thirds or more of the total votes cast by a specified date will be considered to be elected. 5. Induction ceremony will take place at the Section s Fall Banquet. Tentative Timeline: Deadline for Nominations: June/July Voting by Committee: August Hall of Fame Election Ceremony: October (Fall Meeting)
