GRNSW Lic No. ( the Owner ) Definitions Controlling Body Greyhound Greyhound Racing Rules Lien Owner The legislated body having control of greyhound racing, in New South Wales Greyhound Racing New South Wales (GRNSW). A dog or a bitch registered or licensed pursuant to the Rules of GRNSW. 1 or more of the whole of the Greyhound Australasia Rules of greyhound racing which together with the Local GRNSW Rules form and are the Rules of greyhound racing for a controlling body. The right to hold the property of another as security for the payment of a debt. The registered owner of the greyhound (in the sense of being the owner of the greyhound as personal property). When the greyhound is owned by a syndicate or partnership the managing owner is authorized to act on behalf of each and all the owners of the greyhound. Prize money Trainer Training Facility Includes any monies, rewards, trophies or consideration whatsoever for competing in an event. A person registered by GRNSW to train a greyhound for a purpose pursuant to the Greyhound Racing Rules. Any place or premises used for the training and accommodation of a greyhound by the Trainer and includes a vehicle used for the transportation of greyhounds. Trainer Initials... Owner Initials

3 Agreement Whereby the Trainer agrees to train the Owner s greyhound or greyhounds identified below ( the greyhound ) at the Training Facility located at on the conditions set out as below. 1. The Owner agrees to pay the Trainer, all Training and other charges as detailed in this agreement which will be rendered and payable monthly. Interest at..% is payable on accounts overdue 30 days. 2. The Owner remains responsible for the greyhound at all times. It is the Owners responsibility to insure the greyhound against risks while they are in the Trainers care and custody or being transported to and from the Trainer. The Trainer shall not be responsible for any disease, accident, illness or injury however caused or arising to the greyhound(s) whilst Training the greyhound. 3. The Trainer must notify the Owner immediately the Trainer becomes aware that the greyhound has suffered an injury or has been in contact with any significant canine disease. Emergency veterinary services to relieve pain, suffering and distress for the greyhound may be provided at the discretion of the Trainer in consultation with the Trainer s veterinarian at the Owner s expense. 4. Pursuant to clause 3 any ongoing veterinary care is to be agreed in consultation between the Trainer and Owner with the Owner to pay all agreed veterinary and other charges incurred while the greyhound(s) is in the care of the Trainer. 5. The Trainer is to provide the Owner with regular, timely and accurate information in relation to the greyhound(s) training progress or as reasonably required by the Owner. 6. The Trainer is to advise the Owner of the nomination of the greyhound(s) for any event. 7. The Trainer is to abide by the Greyhound Racing Rules and or any direction from the Controlling Body. 8. The Owner reserves the right to transfer the greyhound from the Trainer at anytime: a. provided all fees pursuant to clause 1 have been paid in full; or b. if prize money due to the Owner remains unpaid by the Trainer for a period of 30 days. 9. The Trainer may offset any prizemoney received in respect of the greyhound against any invoice to the Owner unpaid for 30 days. 10. Subject to clause 11, the Owner gives the Trainer a lien over the greyhound for payment of the training fees and all other charges that the Owner is required to pay under this Agreement. This means the Owner may not remove the greyhound from the Trainer property while any part of this Agreement is NOT fulfilled. In the event that the Owner fails to pay any invoice for charges within 60 days of the Trainer sending the invoice, the Trainer may, after providing 7 days written notice to the Owner, enforce his lien by selling the greyhound, For the purpose of enforcing the lien: a. the Trainer may, subject to the approval of the Controlling Body, transfer or sell the greyhound at auction or by public sale to recover any monies as defined in this agreement; Trainer Initials... 4 b. the Owner irrevocably appoints the Trainer as the Owner s attorney with power to sell the greyhound and to sign all transfers and other documents and do everything necessary to effect and complete the sale and to receive the purchase price and credit it towards the cost of sale and payment of all monies owning, with any surplus to be paid to the Owner. 11. The Trainer s lien is unenforceable where: a. the Trainer has been suspended or disqualified for a breach of the Greyhound Racing Rules b. directed otherwise by the Controlling Body c. neglect on the part of the Trainer is proven to the reasonable satisfaction of the Controlling Body. 12.
