I live in Hollywoodland on the border of Griffith P ark and closely follow wildlife activity in my surrounding neighborhood. P-22 lives close to my neighborhood, as do bobcats and rattlers and an entire ecosystem of interesting creatures and plants. As wild habitats around here disappear in the face of neighborhood development and increasing public access to Griffith Park, I'm increasingly aware of the importance of wildlife corridors in our community. The linkage between wild areas becomes more and more tenuous. We have lived in the Hollywood Dell (above Hollywood and Vine) for almost 51 years. In that time we have seen the building in this area at least double and the size of the houses triple. We are now living with deer and coyotes in our yard. We have encountered a bobcat and P22 has passed through the Dell. These animals have lost their habitats and ability to travel for food and breeding. This motion for a wildlife habitat linkage is of vital importance and should be passed as soon as possible.
