2 TOURNAMENT INFORMATION: The competition is open to Men, Women, and Children of all age groups and belt levels & experience. Kids (4 to 15 years old) White, Gray, Yellow, Orange, and Green Belts Junior (16 and 17 years old) White, Yellow, Orange, Green and Blue Belts Women (18 years and older) White, Blue, Purple, Brown, and Black Belts Men (18 years and older) White, Blue, Purple, Brown, and Black Belts Each competitor will be allowed to register in ONE WEIGHT DIVISION ONLY. Weight divisions may be combined to guarantee 2 matches. REGISTRATION DEADLINES & ENTRY FEES: Entrants KIDS REGISTRATION February 25, 2017 ADULT REGISTRATION February 25, 2017 SPECTATORS Kids 5 & Under FREE REGISTRATION DONATION FEES $40 $50 $5 Event Entry Stamp (is needed by both competitors and spectators to enter the event) REGISTER HERE: You can find the link to register ON When you register on line please retain a copy of your Individual Registration Confirmation for admission. Without a signed waiver of liability and/or registration confirmation, you will not be allowed to compete. The tournament will begin promptly at 10:00am with an opening ceremony. To insure the tournament runs smoothly we strongly recommend that all competitors and instructors MUST be at the Tournament ONE HOUR PRIOR to the start of their schedule. MATCH QUEUING: Kids 15 years old and under All belts and weight classes Begins at 10:00am White Belt Juniors 16 and 17 years old Male and Female Begins at 11:30am Blue Belt Juniors 16 and 17 years old Male and Female Begins at 11:30am White Belt (Novice) Adults Male and Female Begins at 1:00pm White Belt (Regular) Adults Male and Female Begins at 1:00pm Blue Belt Adults Male and Female Begins at 1:00pm Purple Belt Adults Male and Female Begins at 2:00pm Brown Belt Adults Male and Female Begins at 2:00pm Black Belt Adults Male and Female Begins at 12:00pm Choke Out Childhood Cancer, because Kids don t fight alone!

3 GENERAL RULES: 1. Each competitor must submit an on line registration form, sign the electronic waiver, and pay the entry fee. 2. Each Competitor will be allowed to register in ONE DIVISION ONLY. 3. This tournament will follow a Double Elimination format with a Consolation Bracket which guarantees at least 2 matches. If/when you lose your first match, you will be inserted into the Consolation Bracket to compete for 3rd place. The competitors that continue in the Winners Bracket who make it to the Championship Round will be competing for 1st and 2nd place. Two (2) person divisions will compete best 2 out of 3. Three (3) person divisions use a round robin format. * If there are no other competitors registered in your division you may be placed in another division in order for you to receive your guaranteed 2 matches. *We reserve the right to either subdivide or combine divisions, weight classes, or age classes the day of the event depending on the turnout. 4. We will do our best to pair up Kids according to weight and age no more than 2 years apart. For example ages groups may be (6 & 7) (8 & 9) (10 & 11) (12 & 13) (14 & 15). We will do our best to not mix girl and boy competitors, but it may be necessary. Kids need to be registered according to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Belt rankings (White, Grey, Yellow, Orange, Green).. Consult your Jiu Jitsu instructor before registering your child to avoid your child being entered into the wrong division. 5. Weigh In is with the GI ON will be conducted the day of the tournament before the first match. 6. It is the competitor s responsibility to find out when his/her match will take place. 7. Competitors will not be allowed in the competition area until it is time for their division. 8. Any competitor who does not show up before his/her match, will automatically forfeit the match and registration. 9. No advantages will be given. If the match is tied at the end of regulation the referee will decide the winner based on who showed the most aggressiveness during the match. 10. Any competitor who displays unsportsmanlike conduct before, during, or after the match will be immediately disqualified. 11. Any competitor receiving more than 1 penalty may be subject to disqualification. 12. All competitors must wear a Jiu Jitsu or Judo Gi with a standard collar size and thickness. 13. All competitors must wear a CLEAN Brazilian Jiu Jitsu GI (Kimono), all the same color. No mixing of tops and bottoms. Example; white pants and blue top or blue pants and white top, etc will NOT be allowed. Competitors will compete with regulation GIs only. A regulation GI is four fingers cuff clearance and sleeves are to be no shorter than 4 from wrist between wrist and sleeve of GI. 14. All male competitors are not allowed to wear clothing underneath the GI such as T Shirts, Rash Guard, Sweatpants, etc. Also, wrestling shoes are NOT allowed. 15. We reserve the right to refuse service. 16. This information may be amended or changed at any time.

Remember! in the weight list the Gi weight is already added, so make sure you are in the correct division. Competitors who do not make their weight division will be automatically disqualified. You MUST bring a valid form of identification at the time of weigh in. Each competitor must have a separate Individual Registration Confirmation. Without a proof of of registration, you will not be allowed to compete. NO EXCEPTIONS!

5 SCORING SYSTEM: In order to receive the points the competitor must have control of your opponent for 3 seconds. Once you have the opponent controlled you will receive points. It is very important that the competitors keep an eye on the scoreboard and the time so that the competitors can keep track of the fight. Sudden Death overtime is 2 minutes for White, Blue, and Purple Belts, and 3 minutes for Brown and Black Belts. During the Sudden Death overtime, the fighter to score the FIRST POINT of any type is declared the immediate winner and the match is over. If no score is made by either fighter during the Sudden Death Overtime, then the referee will then determine and declare the winner of the match. The competitor is declared the immediate winner. ** SUDDEN DEATH applies if score is tied at the end of match (see above for Sudden Death definition) ** This rule applies to all junior and adult male and female divisions, and belt ranks in the tournament. 6 REGULATION INFORMATION: Only Competitors and Staff will be allowed in the competition area. Competitors must obey the referee s commands at all times. Failure to follow these rules may result in PENALTY and/or DISQUALIFICATION of the COMPETITOR! Any complaints regarding referees should be directed to the Chief Referee after the match. ILLEGAL TECHNIQUES for ALL (All Ages & Divisions) NO Striking of any kind NO Slamming NO Biting, Hair pulling or Eye Gouging NO fingers to the throat NO Small Joint Manipulation (Fingers, Toes, etc) NO Pressure points NO Knees or Elbows in the face NO Stalling or running from the fight NO Swearing or obscene gestures NO Scissor Take Down NO Cervical Lock/Neck Crank NO Heel Hooks or Twisting Bent Knee Locks of any kind Illegal Techniques for WHITE & BLUE BELTS Illegal Techniques for All plus the following: NO Knee Bars NO Toe Hold ankle locks (Figure 4) NO Wrist Locks NO Calf Locks NO Biceps Locks NO Pulling the head while in the Guard (Can Opener) Only Straight Foot Locks are ALLOWED (can t twist inward or wrap leg over) Illegal Techniques for ALL BROWN BELTS Please see Illegal Techniques for ALL above Penalties: Stalling: Holding or running away from the fight, or holding both sleeves with a closed guard. (more than 30 seconds) 1st incident warning 2nd incident 2 points to your opponent 3rd incident disqualification Taking down your opponent and running away from the fight on the ground 1st incident warning 2nd incident 2 points to your opponent 3rd incident disqualification Illegal Techniques for KIDS up to 15 years old Illegal Techniques for ALL plus the following: NO Attacks below the waist (i.e. NO Foot Locks, Heel Hooks, Knee Bars, Toe holds) NO Pulling the head while in the Guard (Can Opener) NO Wrist Locks NO Calf Locks NO Biceps Locks Illegal Techniques for PURPLE BELTS Illegal Techniques for ALL plus the following: NO Knee Bars NO Toe Hold ankle locks (Figure 4) NO Calf Locks NO Biceps Lock Only Straight Foot Locks are ALLOWED (can t twist inward or wrap leg over) Illegal Techniques for ALL BLACK BELTS Please see Illegal Techniques for ALL above Immediate Disqualification: The following will result in immediate disqualification: Applying illegal techniques Picking up your opponent while on the ground and slamming them Unsportsmanlike conduct from the competitor, their coach, team mates or associates against the other competitor, referee, coach, or public Arguing with the referee (all disputes must be taken to the head table) Fleeing the mat to avoid submission
