TOW BACK : Notwithstanding section 14 (c) or 14 (d) above, cars may be towed back to the Pits by the organisers if requested by the driver or team manager, where they may be worked on as required by the team. Any such tow back will be subject to a 2-lap penalty, which will be advised by the C.O.C to the team and the timekeepers and will be subtracted from the teams total laps by the timekeepers as soon as is practicable. This Tow Back rule will apply only up to 30 minutes before the end of the race after which time the organisers will only tow to a place of safety as in section 14 (d) above. The organisers reserve the right to prioritise tow backs as they occur for the overall good of the event or refuse to give one if they consider the car concerned too damaged and/or too difficult to move. 17. Refuelling must take place on the concrete apron in front of the pit garage. All work that constitutes a fire hazard (including welding, angle grinders etc) must take place in the paddock behind the fire lane behind the pit garages. All other work shall be performed in the pit garages themselves. d. During qualifying and racing, cars may enter and leave the paddock only by the top (tower end) or centre gate (beside garage 1&2) or through the garages. The gate beside garage 23/24 will not be in use at this event. e. Only one additional person to the team Manager may cross the pit lane to the barrier for signalling purposes. f. No umbrellas, chairs etc. may be used at the trackside barrier. g. When the LIGHTS ON sign is displayed at the start finish area, all competition cars MUST use their headlights. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES may any refuelling happen outside of the pit lane at any time. Engines must be switched OFF during refuelling and no other work may be carried out on the car See 26.l for additional information. No welding is permitted in the pits and officials may at any time ask that the car be taken into the paddock to be worked on if the work appears extensive or likely to disrupt the pits. Push starting of vehicles in the pits will only be allowed if it is under the direction of the pit marshals. i. As the pit lane will be very busy, The Pit Lane Speed limit for this event is 40KPH. The organisers will appoint a Pit Lane judge of fact who with the use of a radar gun will monitor car speeds in the Pit Lane. Where a car exceeds the 40KPH limit a penalty as per 12 (f) above will be applied. j. Pit Stops. An additional lane is being added in Pit Lane (Black Tarmac section) which will result in three distinct areas in the Pit Lane and these are; 1. The Through Lane (Tarmac and closest to Pit Wall). Cars in the Through Lane have right of way. 2. The Intermediate Lane (Tarmac and between the Through Lane and the Concrete Apron). This lane is used by cars crossing from the Through Lane to the Concrete Apron and vice versa. 3. The Concrete Apron. (The concrete area between the garages and the tarmac pit road). This lane is used for pit stops.

4 k. Pit Entry. When entering the pits stay in the left lane closest to the Pit Wall (Through Lane). You should proceed down this lane and cross to the lane on the right (Intermediate Lane) and on reaching your Pit Garage area on the concrete apron you should pull in nose first to the marked space. l. Pit Exit. Once a pit stop is complete the car is permitted to reverse at a snails pace ( snails pace = 5km/h or slower) from the Concrete Apron into the Intermediate Apron facing down pit lane. The competitor is then permitted to cross to the Through Lane when it is safe to do so. Remember, cars in the Through Lane have right of way, so you can only join this lane when it is safe to do so. The decision as to whether it was safe or not lies totally with the Pit Lane Judge and where they decide a teams re-joining was dangerous they will report this to the C.O.C. who will issue a Stop Go penalty to the team with the duration of the Stop dependent on the level of danger. m. Pit Lane Route for Penalties. Where the COC summons a car to the Stop/Go box adjacent to the Start Finish Line, the competitor should enter the pit lane and stay in the through Lane until reaching the Stop/Go box. It is not permitted to carry out any other work in the pits on the way to a Stop/Go Box. n. Any driver found removing or loosening seat belts or helmets before coming to a complete stop at their pit garage will be excluded from the event. 18. STARTERS/GRID FORMAT: A maximum of 48 cars will be permitted to start the event. A two-by-two rolling start will be used behind the safety car. Depending on track/weather conditions, the Safety Car may circulate for up to 3 laps at the start before pulling off into the pits. The starting grid formation and spacing must be maintained at all times. If the cars are correctly in formation, the safety car will peel off into the pit lane and the formation will continue around to the start-finish straight in formation and the race will start when the red lights go out. Overtaking is not permitted until the red lights go out. In the event that the formation is not maintained to a satisfactory degree, the safety car will lead the cars on another lap. A 3 lap penalty will be applied to cars failing to maintain formation. The race will start at 12 noon. Cars will form up on the grid in the order determined by their qualifying times. The pit lane will open at 11:30 to allow cars to make their way onto the grid. The pit lane will close at 11:50 following which no further cars will be allowed onto the grid. Any gaps on the grid shall NOT be closed. Any cars that do not manage to start from the grid will start from the pit lane. Pit lane opening and closing times shall be STRICTLY ENFORCED. 19. RADIOS: No use of any two-way communication between car/driver and pit/paddock is permitted during the event. If any number becomes obscure or difficult to read in the opinion of the organisers, they reserve the right to black flag the car concerned for rectification in the pits. All numbers must be in place during scrutineering. 21. SIGNALS: During the hours of darkness conventional signals will be replaced by illuminated signals as follows: a. Yellow Flag: illuminated yellow/orange flashing lights on turn1, turn 3 and the final corner. Elsewhere, Marshals will have hand held flashing orange lights at the various marshal s posts. b. Red Flag: Red light at turn 1, turn 3, the last corner and on the bridge. From the moment the race is stopped no work may be carried out on the cars unless specifically authorised by the Clerk of the Course. This includes cars already in the pits at the time the race is stopped. When the race is restarted it will be run to the timetable, unless conditions or force majeure dictate otherwise. Such conditions shall be decided by the Stewards in conjunction with the Clerk of the Course. The same driver who was racing at the time the race was stopped will continue at the restart, the period for which the race was stopped will count towards continuous driving times for the drivers in question. In the event of a prolonged stop the Clerk of the Course will provide specific instructions about driver change procedures. The grid for the restart will be in the order of general classification, one lap prior to the lap on which the red flag was displayed. 24. They will remain there for 30 minutes or at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course. 25. DRIVING TIME: No driver may drive longer than 50 minutes continuously and must rest for a period of 30 minutes between stints at the wheel. No driver may drive for longer than 3 hours in total.
