SECTION 2 - TRACK REGULATIONS: 2.1 GENERAL Drivers are responsible for their cars at all times During all sessions, drivers are to merge onto the track off of turn two for all ovals, except Daytona/Talladega. Any driver caught merging unsafely and causing an incident, will be subject to the penalties as listed in section No passing below the double yellow line at Daytona/Talladega. Drivers must yield the position(s) gained within half a lap or face a drive-through penalty. If the driver finishes the race ahead of the position gained below the line, they will receive an EOL in the final race results. Lapped cars are expected to give way to lead lap cars. It is acceptable to race with the leader to stay on the lead lap, but once you have been lapped, it is your responsibility to be as little hindrance to the rest of the field as possible. 2.2 PRACTICE Be mindful of other drivers during practice. 2.3 QUALIFYING Be mindful of other drivers that are on a hot lap and do not pull out on track in front of them If you wreck during your qualifying run, remove your car from the racing groove as soon as possible. 2.4 RACE INITIAL START On the initial start, the car in pole position has lane choice The race will start ON GREEN RESTARTS On restarts, the lead car has lane choice The leader must maintain pace speed until they accelerate to start the race. OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 5! OF! 20

SECTION 2 - TRACK REGULATIONS CONTINUED: No rabbit starts or brake checking will be allowed Any leader caught improperly restarting a race, will receive a warning for the first offense. Further offenses will result in a black flag, which must be served under green The leader can accelerate anytime within the restart zone The restart zone AT ALL TRACKS is determined to be the period between when the pace car leaves the track (and is off the racing surface) and when the green flag flies. Any leader caught accelerating before the pace car leaves, will receive a warning. Further offenses will result in a black flag, that must be served under green BLACK FLAGS Black flags given by the administrators will not be cleared Erroneous black flags given by the iracing system will be cleared, but only for the following offences: Black flag received as a result of spinning through the grass and onto pit road Avoiding a wreck by coming onto pit road Passing under yellow due to a slow/damaged car which could not make it to their correct spot in line. Pitting while pit road is closed will be cleared, so long as it is not used to gain an advantage. Any driver that has their black flag cleared, and is later determined by the administrators to have correctly received the black flag, will be penalized with an EOL after the conclusion of the event PIT ROAD When entering pit road under green, it is best to alert those around you by calling your intentions over the radio. This avoids confusion and possible contact with other drivers. All cars must stay in a single line on the far right side of pit road (or left when pit road requires) when entering and driving on pit road A driver may pull down when they are no more than 5 pit stalls away from their box Upon exiting pit road, a driver must stay on the apron until the exit of turn two where they are allowed to merge. This rule does not apply at road courses. Cars must exit according to the exit line and not come out directly into oncoming traffic. This rule does not apply to Daytona/Talladega. Cars are permitted to merge before turn one ONLY if they are clear to do so. OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 6! OF! 20

SECTION 2 - TRACK REGULATIONS CONTINUED: Any driver merging in front of a pack when it is unsafe to do so, will receive a black flag CAUTIONS Cautions are to be treated with respect towards your fellow competitors In the event of a spin or loss of control, a driver should do their best to regain control without involving any other drivers. This means holding their brakes to Lock it Down so that fellow drivers have a better idea of where your car will be headed. Use of Alt-F4 while spinning or to avoid a spin is strictly prohibited. Any driver doing this will be parked for the remainder of the event. In the event that the track becomes blocked or multiple cars are involved in an accident and iracing doesn't throw the caution the administrative team has the right to manually throw a caution. For a manual caution to be thrown the following criteria must be met: There must be at least two cars involved that make damaging contact. (This does not mean one car spins another and continues. Instead, this means both cars must make contact, their pace must be slowed, and present a danger to further oncoming traffic) There must be confirmations from multiple drivers that they believe a caution needs to be thrown. All admin thrown cautions will still follow the penalty points incident system and drivers will be allowed to claim an admin thrown caution and if not it will be reviewed. All admin thrown cautions will be reviewed by the admins to determine if the situation met the criteria outlined above as being a caution. If it is determined a caution was thrown when the above criteria was not met penalty points will be handed out after the race. OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 7! OF! 20

SECTION 3 - RACE NIGHT PROCEDURE: 3.1 SERVERS UpperEdge makes use of the iracing Leagues function to host its races. All races will be shown under the League Sessions tab. In the event UpperEdge uses a hosted server, all league drivers will be notified of the password. 3.2 PRACTICE On any night during an official race, the server will open forty-five (45) minutes prior to the drivers meeting for final practice The last five (5) minutes of practice will be shortened and used for the driver s meeting Drivers failing to make the driver s meeting will receive an EOL to start the race. 3.3 QUALIFYING GENERAL Qualifying will utilize the knock out style, with all cars permitted on track, which are on the current round. Drivers are not allowed to leave their pit stalls until the qualifying round has officially started. Drivers leaving before the session is officially green will be parked for the remainder of the qualifying session. Drivers are not allowed to park on pit road. Once they pull away from their pit stall, they are required to enter the track. Drivers caught parking on pit road will forfeit the remainder of the qualifying session. There is absolutely no resetting during qualifying. Any driver that resets will forfeit the rest of the qualifying session If a driver resets and proceeds to run more laps, they will be given an EOL to start the race Drivers are permitted to change tires during qualifying only by coming down pit road Driver s qualifying times will carry over between rounds. Drivers advancing have a chance to improve their current time and position Once the round is over, all cars are to return to pit road Any driver that started a lap before the official end of the session, will be allowed to complete the lap. OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 8! OF! 20

SECTION 3 - RACE NIGHT PROCEDURE CONTINUED: Any driver starting and completing a qualifying lap after the session has ended, will receive an EOL. Any driver absent for race night will receive a provisional. - A provisional will be worth five (5) points. - A driver is only allowed two provisionals throughout the season OVAL PROCEDURE Qualifying will consist of two rounds The first round will be eight (8) minutes At the conclusion of the first round, the top eight (8) drivers will move on to round two. There will be a two (2) minute break between rounds one and two. The second round will be four (4) minutes long and only the eight advancing drivers will be allowed on track. Any driver running in round two, which has not advanced, will be given an EOL for the start of the race. This section (3.3.2) applies to all oval tracks EXCEPT SUPERSPEEDWAYS. Superspeedway qualifying will be single car qualifying with two (2) timed laps ROAD COURSE PROCEDURE Qualifying will consist of two rounds The first round will be ten (10) minutes long where all cars are allowed on track and the top 10 at the end of the round will move on to the second round There will be a five (5) minute break between rounds The second round will be five (5) minutes long. Only the cars that advanced will be allowed on track. 3.4 RACE 3.41 Following the conclusion of qualifying, drivers are to grid immediately If a driver is experiencing connection issues on the grid, they can request an EOL to start the race. If the connection is severe enough, an official can also give the driver an EOL as a penalty. Races that are rescheduled due to iracing outages, server lag, disconnection issues or any other type of issue will be rescheduled during an off week on the schedule. OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 9! OF! 20

SECTION 3 - RACE NIGHT PROCEDURE CONTINUED: Races that are stopped due to server issues but are at least 50% completed will be considered official and scored as a completed race. 4.1 GENERAL OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 10! OF! 20

SECTION 4 - PENALTY POINT SYSTEM: The penalty points system has been implemented in order to encourage clean and competitive racing. If you are truly at fault for an incident, it is better to claim it during the race. Claiming it during the race gives you time to recover and clears you of any post race penalties. Not claiming a caution and leaving it for the administrator panel results in severe consequences. if you are found at fault, this can result in a loss of points, loss of position on track, and more penalty points earned for the incident. If an on track official is involved in an unclaimed caution, after review, that official will be replaced in the voting by the overtrack official. If two or more on track officials were involved then the vote will be at the sole discretion of the overtrack official. In the event that there is no overtrack official, team owners will be pulled in to make the ruling. 4.2 PENALTY POINTS SYSTEM Each claimed caution will add one penalty point to the driver s total. That driver will receive an EOL for the restart. Each unclaimed caution will be up for review by the administrators, where two penalty points will be assigned. 3-0 vote means two penalty points are given to the driver receiving three votes. This driver will also receive an EOL in the final race standings. 2-1 vote means 1.5 penalty points are given to the driver receiving two votes and 0.5 penalty points are given to the driver receiving one vote. The driver receiving two votes will also receive a points EOL in the final race standings. If a majority of the administrators believe it is a split fault incident and vote split fault then each driver in the incident will receive one point. If a majority of the administrators believe the incident was a result of netcode, then it will be assigned as a no fault incident and no points will be handed out Netcode will be determined by the administrators and is subject to their discretion A claimed self spin resulting in a caution will add 1.5 points to a driver s penalty point total Not lifting for a wreck and making it worse will add.5 a point to a driver s penalty point total The first clean race with no caused cautions or penalty points earned reduces a driver s penalty point total by 0.5 point. Any further clean races after the first for a driver removes 1 penalty point from the driver s total Penalty points can only be reduced to zero. No negative points storing allowed Once a driver s penalty point total reaches 3.5 points or above, they will be suspended for one race. The missed race will reduce his total by two points. OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 11! OF 20!

SECTION 4 - PENALTY POINT SYSTEM CONTINUED: A driver totalling 2.5 points or above after the race, will receive a written warning notifying them of their potential suspension, if they are involved in an incident in the next race. All drivers penalty points accumulations will be tallied by the administrators and posted on the website, so that a driver knows exactly where they stand. 4.3 RECEIVING PENALTY POINTS / CAUTION PROCEDURE After a caution, if a driver believes they are at fault and would like to claim the caution, they must do so by either typing a C in the chat box or claiming it over voice chat. By doing this they take responsibility for the caution and will receive an EOL for the restart and one penalty point. If a caution comes out and no one claims the caution it will be reviewed by the administrators after the race has concluded. The administrators will each vote on who they feel is at fault or whether it was split fault or netcode. Penalty points, EOLs, and Points EOLs will be issued based on the administrator s votes according to section The administrators will be looking for the cause of the caution and not necessarily who the caution was for. Ex. 1. Driver1 and Driver2 are at Bristol. Driver1 is following Driver2 and going into turn 3 gives him a shot. Driver2 hits the wall and then spins down the track and the caution comes out for Driver2. However, Driver1 would be at fault because had the shot not been given, no caution would have happened. Ex. 2. Driver1 and Driver2 are battling at Atlanta. Driver1 is crowding Driver2 down hard. Driver2 washes up and gets into Driver1. The caution comes out for Driver1. This scenario would be a split fault with Driver2 receiving a 2-1 vote. Ultimately, it was Driver2 who moved up and made contact, but Driver1 crowding didn t help the situation. A wreck on the last lap of the event, which would normally result in a caution, will still be treated as a caution, with the driver being allowed to claim it. If not, it will go to administrative panel for review. Ex 1. Driver1 and Driver2 are racing for the win at Martinsville. Driver2 dives into turn 3 and gives Driver1 a bump and run. He bumps Driver1 up the track and wins the race. This would not bring out a caution normally and no action would be taken on Driver2. Ex 2. Driver1 and Driver2 are racing at Texas. Driver1 gets loose on the bottom and drifts up into Driver2 on exit. Driver2 is turned into the inside wall and wrecked. This would normally bring out a caution and thus is a caution. Driver1 has a chance to claim it and be EOL d. If he doesn t then the administrators will review and determine Driver1 was at fault and will still be EOL d. Any driver that does not check up for a wreck and flies into it making it worse will receive 0.5 penalty point This will be upon administrator review and determination Aggressive driving will earn a driver 0.5 penalty point. OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 12! OF! 20

SECTION 4 - PENALTY POINT SYSTEM CONTINUED: This will be upon administrator review and determination Any driver determined to be the cause of two cautions in one race will be parked after the second caution. Ex 1. A driver claims two cautions with his second one being on lap 50 of 125. He will be parked on lap 50. Ex 2. A driver claims his first caution, but not his second on lap 100 of 200 and finishes the race in third. His unclaimed caution is reviewed and it is determined 3-0 his fault. His scoring then stops on lap 100 and he finishes the race 100 laps down wherever that would put him. A deliberate retaliation, as determined by the administrators, stops your scoring on the lap it occurred, and is subject to other penalties at the discretion of the administrators. Purposely causing a caution that manipulates the outcome of the race will earn a driver 2.5 penalty points and an EOL. Any driver that merges in an unsafe manner, which causes a caution, will receive 2 penalty points. Any driver receiving 16 or more incident points for a single race will receive a.5 penalty point. 4.4 REMOVING PENALTY POINTS / CLEAN RACING The first clean race with no caused cautions or penalty points earned will reduce a driver s penalty point total by 0.5 point. This does not mean a driver has no incident points or is not involved in any incidents. This means that the driver did not claim a caution, was determined the cause of a caution by the administrators, or was not assigned any penalty points by the administrators. The second clean race in a row will remove a full one penalty point from the driver s penalty point total. A driver s penalty points can only be reduced to zero. No negative points can be accumulated. 5.1 GENERAL OFFICIAL UPPEREDGE RULES COPYRIGHT 2016 PAGE 13! OF! 20
