It seems we have had a couple months to enjoy this fine weather; there has been a ton of +27c days out here. Awesome cruising weather. With that said we have also had a couple wet days but that allows us to tinker or so I believe this will make our hobby better, improve or just finally repair that part that has been bugging you for the last week. Moving on, this month is a big month for us. We have our car show Mopar's and Muscle Cars on August 26th out in Stony Plain, I have to be honest, there has been a ton of people busting there back to make this show happen. The two people making this happen are Ed Holland and his amazing wife. They have done a ton of ground work and with that I know it will going to go off with a huge bang. Remember to show up with your ride, bring the family, bring some lawn chairs and spend the day it is going to be a blast and that I can promise you. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Address: Jubilee Park, 510 Grove Drive, Spruce Grove Mopar's & Muscle Cars, Show and Shine, August 26nd 10am till 4pm $20 Registration fee, ($15 pre-registration $10 with student ID), all makes/models welcome, silent auction, food trucks, Valve cover races Address: Memorial Comp High School, 50 westerra centre, Stony Plain Car Cruize & Car Show July 16th, checking the weather everything looked ok, there's a chance of rain but praying to the car gods please let it hold off. Well it did for most of the day, John Van Ginkel put together a mini cruise that started in Leduc, with 5 members then moved to the Rock N Wash picked up a couple more, headed out to Save-on foods in Sherwood Park a few more joined in, then to Highway 21 Esso for an awesome meal. Unfortunately the car gods could not hold off the rain any longer, as we were just finishing it started to come down, so the cruise ended prematurely, the next stop was going to be Leanne's in Millet. So instead of trying to go further we call it a awesome day and went our separate ways, it was great, to see a group get together and enjoy the day. Which by the way, the total was 18 members who showed up for this little outing. Way to go everyone.

3 July 28th (Friday) we also had a awesome car show over at the Wyndham Garden Edmonton Airport hotel located at 8016 Sparrow Drive in Leduc, this was in support of the hotel for their hosting of Alex Tagliani (number 18) Pinty's NASCAR Race Series. We had a total of 27 vehicles turn out. A good time was had by all which included live music, free hotdogs and juice for everyone and of course awesome conversations with everyone who attended. Wyndham Garden also gave us the opportunity to win some prizes, VIP meal and a couple of free drink tickets. Thank you to the members who attended, the Wyndham Garden Edmonton Airport was ecstatic and pleased with the respect and professionalism the association had while we put the show on. We will be back next year to help them carry this forward.

4 Future Business -We had our July meeting, and as of last week we are now at 90 members, congratulations everyone for making this a strong club. -Hats/t-shirts/hoodies can be paid via e-transfer now. -requiring some volunteers to help out on our August 26th car show out in stony plain, Mopar's and Muscle cars. -we are looking into doing a members BBQ for the end of the season to show appreciation to all our members. We may include a Cruise starting in Leduc and working our way to Iron Garage if the weather is favorable. -we are looking into making a calendar for 2018 featuring members rides, meeting dates, car show dates, and other miscellaneous information, if you would like to be a part of the calendar please get a hold of Jeff or Ed. -Members who do not have the Crosstown/ Grove Dodge numbers are asked to see Spencer at the end of each meeting to have the decal put onto their membership cards. Special Mention We are happy to announce the arrival of our newest member, Elvira Lynn Kurpe. She arrived June 30, 3:42 am, weighing in at 6 pounds 3 ounces. Miranda is recovering well and is now starting to book shoots for August. Please contact her to book your shots for next year's calendar..

5 Club Spotlight/ Ramblings Northern Alberta Corvette Owners Club (NACOC) With an ad in the Edmonton Journal on April 4, Wednesday night was chosen for the first meeting because Stedelbauer was open every night until 9pm, except Wednesdays. The Wednesday night meeting tradition continues to this day. Unfortunately Stedelbauer no longer exists but WE do, matured 40 plus years and still setting the pace! One of the club's first events was a Scavenger Hunt and Bavarian Feast held at the Students Union Building, U of A Campus on August 8. The cost was $7.00 per couple and that included everything. Event prices may have changed somewhat over 40 plus years and so may have some of our members, but our enthusiasm for the legendary Corvette sports car has not. In 1974 the Canadian Council of Corvette Clubs (CCCC - now Quad C), Western Region, was formed with considerable input from our Northern Alberta Corvette Owner s Club (NACOC) membership. It was not surprising then, that in 1975 NACOC was chosen to host the first CCCC Annual Convention with slalom racing at Speedway Park, two socials at the Oilfield Technical Society Park and door prizes for everyone! Edmonton s Mayor was even flown in by helicopter to the Saturday evening BBQ and awards presentation. NACOC has regularly hosted the Quad C Conventions since the Club's inception. In the years when NACOC was not hosting this Convention we were hosting our own very successful Northland Corvette Conference, which just happens to be the oldest annual Corvette meet in Canada. we would love to see you at a club meeting to get a face-to-face idea of what NACOC is all about. We meet the first Wednesday of each month at the Boston Pizza Calgary Trail NW (Edmonton) at 7:30 PM
