2 Ten80 Miami Spring Invitational, March 15 th, 2016 Thank You all for participating in the Ten80 Miami Spring Invitational 2016 at MDC Wolfson Campus. We enjoyed hosting this event for our teams! Congratulations to all the teams that participated! The student teams were quite competitive this year because the teams arrived well prepared! Our students exemplified all that we hope our next generation will be: professional, courteous, kind, hard-working, and innovative. However, we did have some rough racing that resulted in penalties. Please keep in mind fair races depend on our teams following the rules and guidelines set in our Ten80 handbook and in the event guide. Ten80 officials do not like assigning penalties. We try to be fair, but we will never be able to see every violation in every race. The track officials try to warn and remind first. However, if after we have issued a warning, a track official sees a penalty, we have to deduct points, laps, or time from your race. Often an observer is missing some subtle rule that the official knows. Other times the official is just doing his or her best and misses something the observer sees. This is the nature of sport and it is at times, unfair. The fun and competition continues fairly only if all teams race fairly. Please keep up the hard work!
