WesCom also produces a range of state of the art gas pressure generators, both for civil and military applications. Since the beginning, the company, which was founded on its present site in Bremerhaven, Germany has specialised in the broad spectrum of pyrotechnic products and services and this expertise continues to drive customer satisfaction as it has always done. Using applied pyro-technology, paired with mechanical engineering, a fundamental knowledge of inner and outer ballistics and the chemical engineering of effect, delay, propulsion and ejection compositions, the company has developed an extensive range of technologically advanced and innovative products. Company History In 1920 Friedrich Wilhelm Sander took over the company founded in 1853 by H.G. Cordes in Bremerhaven-Geestemünde, which developed and produced canons for whaling. In 1930 he opened new industrial premises at Vieländer Weg primarily for testing and proving but also to comply with the increased demand of pyrotechnic signal munitions the factory was taken over by the DONAR GmbH the site was acquired by Industriewerke Karlsruhe Augsburg the company was bought by the Diehl Group Chemring Group Plc. acquired the factory. August 2012 Chemring Group Plc. sold the company to Drew Marine USA. January 2017 Drew Defence GmbH was merged into Drew Marine Signal & Safety. October 2017 Name change to WesCom Signal & Rescue.

4 Signal & Illumination Communication between combat forces and battlefield reconnaissance at night is an essential element in operation. Our scope of products for signal and illumination provide effective means for said purpose. WesCom Defence uses automated production techniques to ensure not only high cost effectiveness but also reliable quality products. Reconnaissance of ground forces during night operations is a prerequisite. Parachute Illumination Cartridges/Rockets provide appropriate visibility during missions at night. Besides the illumination in the visual range, infra-red illumination flares enhance the capability of night vision goggles. Signal Flares in a variety of colours and configurations provide also an appropriate means of communication on the battle field. 6 19mm Signal Cartridge Single Star Red, Green, White Application Communications between combat forces and battlefield reconnaissance at night are essential elements in operations. The 19mm Signal Cartridges offer an autarkic means for this purpose and is also used as personnel distress signal. The 19mm Signal Cartridge is fired from the HK EFL 19 Flare Launcher and provides short range signalling and illumination. For special fore field illumination missions, the single star is also available with near infrared light. Operation: In preparation of firing the 19mm cartridges are loaded into the magazine of the HK EFL 19 (Notsignalgerät FHK Kaliber 6/19x36mm). The parachute Signal Cartridge provides sufficient visibility during missions at night. The 26.5mm Parachute Signal Cartridge is used for medium range illumination. 47 Surface-to-Air Missile Simulator ManPADS M 176 Application: Shoulder launched, man-portable surface to air missiles (ManPADS) are a serious threat to helicopters and other low flying aircrafts. With an identified incoming missile, pilots are required to carry out escape manoeuvres besides the usage of the on board decoy systems. To visualise the threat scenario is essential during training.
