1 AUCKLAND MOTORCYCLE CLUB INC In association with PLAY DAY ON TRACK LTD Proudly Presents The Hampton Downs 6 Hour Endurance Race ORGANISER: The Auckland Motorcycle Club Inc. will conduct a Motorcycle Race meeting for the second running of the The Hampton Downs 6 Hour Endurance Race at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park on Sunday 16 October 2016 The meeting will be run under M.N.Z Permit # RULES: The meeting will be conducted under Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. Manual of Motorcycle Sport and the following Supplementary Regulations. 1, The engines of competitors machines must not be started until clearance is given by the Clerk of the Course on the day. 2, Computer based lap timing will be proudly provided by James Watson. 3, Event Format There will be one event run over the course of the day. The event will be a tarmac only 6 hour timed, baton type relay race for one combined class named the Hampton Downs Endurance Class (HDEC) detailed in Clause 4 (below) of these Supplementary Regulations only, where one machine s uniquely numbered transponder will act as the baton. Teams each team will consist of three riders and three bikes with one Team transponder. Each rider must complete a minimum of 90 minutes over the length of the race (unless a rider crashes and cannot complete 90 minutes of riding) the remaining 180-minute session may be completed by any of the entered Team s riders at the team s discretion. The team transponder must be fitted to the bike that is on track at all times. At any one time there must only be one bike per team on track. No one man or Iron Man teams will be accepted. 3 A) If a rider falls from their machine & is unable to return to their pit area on the machine they started the session on safely & under its own power, to pass on the Team transponder to the next allocated rider in the team then the team transponder will be returned to the pit area by aerial drone or by foot providing the circuit is not crossed on foot at any time. It is the fallen rider s responsibility to return the transponder to their team at all times. The transponder will be passed to the next team rider and the crashed rider must return to the pit area for medical clearance. If the crashed bike can be returned to the pit area and pass machine examination, it can rejoin the event. In the event of you suffering machine trouble whilst on the circuit DO NOT continue to circulate. Exit the circuit at the earliest safe opportunity, do not cross the track at reduced speed, park your machine safely and remove yourself to the safe side of the barriers. DO NOT attempt to limp back to the pits at a reduced speed. 3 B) Re-fuelling will not be permitted within the pit-lane or garage areas. A re-fuelling area will be set aside on or near the skid-pad area and will be open to bikes after they have completed their race session. No Open type fuel containers will be permitted in the Pit or re-fuelling areas during the course of this event. All re-fuelling is to be completed via the use of approved, commercially available & clearly labelled fuel containers. Ignitions of all machines must be switched off or disabled before and during the re-fuelling process. No exceptions. 3 C) In the event the meeting is called Wet by the Officials, red flashing lights will be displayed at the Start / Finish line, waved red flags will also be displayed at all marshalling points around the circuit. Competitors are required to safely exit the circuit as soon as possible & form up on the dummy grid, a meeting official on the dummy grid will advise all riders present that the meeting has been declared Wet, riders may then return to their pit area & fit suitable wet type tyres this window will not exceed 25 (twenty-five) minutes. Prior to the restart a 5-minute call will be given over the Pit P.A followed by a 2-minute call. Once riders are released from the dummy grid Clause 8 below will take effect. Any rider that returns directly to their pit without first forming up on the dummy grid to receive further instruction from the meeting official at the dummy grid will be deemed to have disqualified themselves &/or their Team from the restart also see Clause 9 B below 3 D) In the event of an incident on track requiring emergency medical service(s) attendance, red flashing lights will be displayed at the Start / Finish line; waved red flags will also be displayed at all marshalling points around the circuit. Competitors are required to safely exit the circuit as soon as possible & form up on the dummy grid, a meeting official on the dummy grid will advise all riders present that they may return to their pit area. Prior to the restart a 5-minute call will be given over the Pit P.A followed by a 2-minute call using Air Horns (two quick successive blasts of no less than two seconds a piece) sounded from the Start / Finish line area. Once riders are released from the dummy grid Clause 8 below will take effect. Any rider that returns directly to their pit without first forming up on the dummy grid to receive further instruction from the meeting official at the dummy grid will be deemed to have disqualified themselves &/or their Team from the restart also see Clause 9 B below

2 4 A) The Hampton Downs Endurance Class will include the following M.N.Z approved classes POST CLASSIC PRE 82 SENIOR, POST CLASSIC PRE 89 F1 and POST CLASSIC PRE 89 F2 plus the following classes detailed later in this document - FORMULA 1, FORMULA 2 & FORMULA 3. All bikes must comply with the General Competition Rule s (including any class specific requirements) found in the Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. Manual of Motorcycle Sport. Please also see clauses 10 ~ 10F below. 4 B) TYRE LIMIT Riders are encouraged to use just one set of tyres per bike but if tyres need changing due to safety considerations, an extra set of tyres will be allowed per bike giving a maximum of 2 front and 2 rear tyres per machine. Changing tyres will incur a 3-minute time penalty to be added to that team s final result. All tyre changing must be completed in the designated tyre changing area within Garage #8. One set of wet weather tyres may be used if the race is declared wet. 5, Entry fees: $ per rider, plus $25.00 transponder hire if needed. Those paying their entries by Credit Card will attract a 5% transaction fee see Pre Race Entry Fee's for further details 6, Grid positions will be determined by lap times recorded within the preceding qualifying session. Qualifying time for each rider in this event must be below 1 minute 19 seconds in dry conditions or below the fastest qualifying time multiplied by 1.2 in wet conditions. It is very important that you note your grid position prior to your race starting and grid up accordingly. All competing riders are to be well versed with & completely understand General Competition Rule 14.3 (& clauses a through b ) please refer to the Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. Manual of Motorcycle Sport for further information. 7, The format for the starting grids will be by Le Mans start (refer rule 6.6 MNZ Manual of Motorcycle Sport). 8, All competitors are to be on the dummy grid prior when instructed by race control. The dummy grid will be released onto the circuit for 30 seconds and then the dummy grid will be closed. Any competitor that misses the 30 second window will start their race from the pit lane / dummy grid after the rest of the field has passed the track entry point. 9, Flags / Start Signals: The race will be started with a countdown style sequence of red lights followed very closely by all of them going out or a stationary held then dropped green flag. 9 A) Chequered: The race will be completed by a waved chequered flag shown at the Start / Finish line & also the inside of turn 1. 9 B) Flags / Stop Signals: In the event of a race stoppage, flashing red lights will be displayed at the start / finish line; red flags will be displayed at all marshalling points around the circuit. Competitors are then required to reduce speed and return to pit lane and re-form on the dummy grid in an orderly manner & await further instruction from the A.M.C.C officials 10, Machine examination: This will be conducted by the A.M.C.C appointed Machine Examiners who will examine all machines competing in the event prior to the event commencement. Machine Examination will take place in Garage 8 between the hours of 8.00 am to 9.00 am Sunday 16 Oct 2016 only. All machines that crash during the sighting & / or subsequent race and are able to be returned to the pit area must be delivered to the Machine Examiners for reexamination prior to re-entering the circuit. Spot machine examination may occur randomly during the event. For the purposes of this event a Crash is defined as: When a rider and machine become separated and or the machine has stopped moving and has any parts other than its tyres in contact with the circuit, ground or crash barriers and these parts are supporting the machine 10 A) Machines that are found to be in breach of any MNZ rules or are deemed to be unsafe will be instantly excluded from the meeting. 10 B) All competing machines must have a clearly visible Race Number(s) in accordance with the requirements of your specific class as outlined in the Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. Manual of Motorcycle Sport please refer to 10 A) above. 10 C) Any machine fitted with an internal Cartridge type oil filter is to have its oil filter cover / housing secured with nylock type locking nuts, where bolts are employed to secure this cover they are to be mechanically retained with a suitably approved locking wire. 10 D) Any competing machines Oil Filler cap &/or plug is to be mechanically retained with a suitably approved locking wire to an immoveable chassis or engine component. 10 F) All lower cowlings / fairings are to be removed prior to presenting machines for inspection if the oil filter, oil pan &/or gearbox drain plug(s), catch tanks &/or bottles cannot be clearly & easily seen from beside or beneath the machine. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this simple time saving requirement 11, Riding gear: Examination will be conducted by the Motorcycling New Zealand steward(s). Helmets will be checked prior to Riders Briefing and riding gear will be checked while waiting on the Dummy Grid. 11, A) Please note that back protectors are compulsory safety equipment for this venue no back protector, no racing, no exceptions... 12, Noise emission: Refer to Rule 10.6d of the MNZ Manual of Motorcycle Sport. 13, Entry to and from the Pits: Entry: Move to the right hand side of the circuit. Clearly indicate your intention to leave the circuit by raising either your left arm or foot. As riders proceed through the first section of the pit lane run off area, they will reduce speed to a maximum of 40 kph and proceed to their pit area in an orderly fashion. Exiting: Exiting the pits will be via the DUMMY GRID only. All riders exiting from the pits are under the control of A.M.C.C officials & must at all times follow their direction(s). An A.M.C.C official will indicate to the rider when it is safe to proceed down the track entry Slip Road, when safe to do so accelerate hard, staying to the inside of the circuits blend line (please also see & note clause 16 ). DO NOT HEAD ON TO THE RACING LINE until up to racing speed - this allows you, the rider to exit safely at high speed. 14, Pit lane: There is to be NO open toed footwear in Pit Lane for any competitor &/or their associates at any time during the course of this meeting.

3 14 A) There is to be no riding of any bicycle &/or motorcycle in the Pit Lane or Parc Ferme area(s) during the course of this meeting by any person without an approved safety helmet as per rule B) There are to be no animals bought into the Pit Lane or Parc Ferme areas by any competitors &/or their associates at any time during the course of this event. Any competitors &/or their associates found to be in breach of the above will be immediately asked to leave the venue. 14 C) Track crossing: Pedestrian access to the infield is via the approved underpass only. Vehicle access to and from the infield will be the approved road ways only. 14 D) Rubbish: Please ensure that you leave your pit area tidy by collecting all rubbish and disposing of it in the bins provided. 15, Licence / Logbooks: All competitors must produce their licence / log book at sign on or be excluded from the race meeting. *** Please do not forget to collect these again at the conclusion of the meeting... *** 16, Pit lane entry / exit yellow Blend lines Any rider crossing the yellow pit exit line on the circuit may be subject to exclusion from that event. Any rider riding to the right of the second half of the yellow pit entry line (i.e. after the white dotted line) for any reason (other than to enter the pits) will be excluded from the results. Riders entering the pits must remain at race pace until the white dotted line is passed. The "yellow pit entry line" refers to the inner of the two lines. Such exclusion to be advised at the completion of the event in which the offence occurred Competitors whose tyres cross the yellow circuit entry blend line will receive for their first infringement of the meeting a verbal warning by the meetings M.N.Z representative, a further infringement will result in instant exclusion from the remainder of the meeting. 17, Parking Restrictions: The tar sealed area immediately behind the pit garages, is to be kept free of all vehicles (including trailers) apart from the purposes of loading/unloading machines and equipment. Under no circumstances are electrical leads to be run out of the rear of the garages Sign on & machine inspection for the event will begin at 8.00 am. If you have any problems or questions, please ask an A.M.C.C or Play Day on Track Ltd official during the meeting at the Sign On Port-acom building. 4 FORMULA 1 ( F1 ) REGULATIONS F1 class will exist for 'formula' type machines. The Capacity Groups listed below allow modifications to the machines to be carried out while still keeping a similar level of performance between machines. 1. Capacity Groups: (Refer to rule 5 below for specifications and restrictions within a capacity group) cc maximum displacement, 4-8 cylinders, 4-stroke cc maximum displacement 3 cylinders 4-stroke cc to open twin cylinder four stroke cc maximum displacement, 4 cylinders, 2-stroke cc maximum displacement 2-3 cylinders 2-stroke 2. Number Plate Colours and placement: Refer to Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. Manual of Motorcycle Sport (will be as per Superbike) 3. Fuel: Refer of Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. Manual of Motorcycle Sport 4. Machine Specifications (General): 1. All machines must comply with the relevant Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. Manual of Motorcycle Sport Rules such as Chapter Machines with re-bored cylinders must remain within the appropriate capacity limit. 3. Be fitted with clip-on or road style handlebars. No MX, Motard, Enduro or trail/dual purpose style of handle bars will be allowed. 5. Engine Specifications: 1. Any aftermarket or race piston and ring set may be fitted provided the cylinder remains within the capacity limit. 2. The original carburettor/fuel injection may be replaced by any brand or type 3. No turbocharging. 4. No supercharging. 5. No nitrous or other performance enhancing add on s of this type. 6. No oval piston engines. 6. Modifications permitted: Provided all the previous requirements are met and the machine complies with the relevant General Competition Rules, all other items are unrestricted. FORMULA 2 ( F2 ) REGULATIONS F2 class will exist for 'formula' type machines. The Capacity Groups listed below allow modifications to the machines to be carried out while still keeping a similar level of performance between machines. 1. 5 FORMULA 3 (F3) REGULATIONS F3 class will exist for formula type machines. The class listed below (1-1 to 1-5) allows modifications to the machines to be carried out while still keeping a similar level of performance between machines. 1 Capacity Groups: (Refer to rule 5 below for specifications and restrictions within a capacity group) 1.1 Multi-cylinder four Stroke up to 450cc 1.1a the working displacement of a 3 or 4 cylinder 4 Stroke (cylinders producing power) shall be no more than 450cc. 1.1 Multi-cylinder production based two strokes up to 400cc valve (per cylinder) twin cylinder, air cooled, four stroke up to 750cc 1.3 Single cylinder four stroke 251cc - Open Capacity 1.4 Single cylinder two stroke 200cc - 500cc 1.5 Twin cylinder, 2 or more valves, water cooled 4 Stroke up to 660cc 2 Number Plate Colours and placement: Refer to rule 10.2a 3 Fuel: Refer to rule Machine Specifications (General): All machines must comply with the relevant General Competition Rules such as Chapter 10. Machines with re-bored cylinders must remain within the appropriate capacity limit. 4.1 Multi-cylinder four stroke machines eligible under rule 1.1 shall only be limited to the capacity, and fuel requirements above. 4.2 The specifications for up to 400cc two stroke Production based machines eligible under 1.2 are described in rule Twin cylinder four strokes shall be limited as follows: a) Up to 500cc, no restrictions apart from fuel as above. b) Over 500cc, two valves per cylinder are restricted to 750cc and must be air cooled, fuel as per rule 3, c) Over 500cc, two or more valves per cylinder and water cooled are restricted to 650cc, fuel as per rule 3, Additionally these machines must retain the standard OEM air box/cleaner assembly in its entirety, air filter element and carburettor (with the exception of removable jets or throttle body, including injector). 4.4 Single cylinder four stroke machines eligible under rule 1.4 shall only be limited to the fuel requirements as per rule 3. Capacity is unrestricted. 4.5 Single cylinder two stroke machines eligible under rule 1.5 shall be limited to the capacity and fuel requirements as per rule Be fitted with clip-on style bars (no MX, Motard, and Enduro or trail/dual purpose style of handle bars) 5 Specifications for up to 400cc two stroke production based machines: The machine must be based on a production motorcycle. No homologation is necessary however the Road Race Commission or Technical Steward shall have the power to rule whether or not a machine is eligible. 5.1 Capacity: Must not exceed 400cc. Machines with re-bored cylinders must remain within the capacity limit. 5.2 Engine Specifications: a) The crankcase must be from a road going motorcycle and may be examined to ensure compliance, but may be modified without further restriction. b) Any aftermarket or race piston and ring set may be fitted provided the cylinder remains within the capacity limit. c) The original carburettor may be replaced by any brand or type 6 Modifications permitted: Provided all the previous requirements are met and the machine complies with the relevant General Competition Rules, all other items are unrestricted 6.1 Quick shifters may be used Lap timing and data logging equipment is allowed
