8 Brooke Ramsier had two assists in s SEC Tournament quarterfinal victory over South Carolina, providing the shot on frame that deflected back to Kristen Dodson for the first goal and then providing the great cross for the equalizer that fed to Logan Beal, who half-volleyed to Ellie Leek for the onetimer. Along with her three goals, Ramsier now has 10 assists, for 16 points, second on the team behind her sister Casie. Ramsier was the first player on the team to reach the 10-point plateau, marking her second-straight season of 10 points or more. Seven of her eight assists came in SEC play, the most of any player in the conference in Her 10 assists is already the most in a single-season for her career and her 16 points also sets a new career-high for points in a season. With now 10 assists, Ramsier is the 10th player ever with double-digit assists in a single-season. Ramsier had a hand in all three of s goals in a 3-1 victory over Tennessee. was able to score three times on a Tennessee squad that had only given up one goal before the match. With s first goal in the 21st minute, it broke a shutout streak of nearly 400 minutes the Volunteers had coming in. The goal came from a corner kick from Ramsier that was placed perfectly at the near post where senior Sophie Simantel finished home the header to give the early lead. Ramsier s three assists in the match is a new career-high for the Texas-native. Her three assists are not only a personal-high for a single game, but is the most in one game by an player this year. The three assists also ties for the most in one game by any SEC player this season. Ramsier joins Haley Pounds of Texas A&M and Natalia Gomez-Junco of LSU as the only players with three assists in a single game. CASIE RAMSIER NAMED SEC CO-SCHOLAR- ATHLETE OF YEAR, HEADLINING FOUR TIGERS NAMED ALL-SEC Junior Casie Ramsier was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year this afternoon along with three other Tiger soccer players, who were named All-SEC by the conference office. Joining Ramsier on the all-conference list are senior Kala Faulkner, freshman Taylor Troutman and redshirt freshman Sarah Le Beau. For the first time in her career, Ramsier was not only named to one of the high individual awards in the conference, but joins Faulkner on the All-SEC First Team. As for Faulkner, this marks her fourth-straight allconference selection and second time (2013) being named to the first team. Le Beau was named to both the All-SEC Second Team and SEC All-Freshman Team for her work between the pipes at goalkeeper, while Troutman emerged as one of the best freshman in the conference as she was also named to the All-Freshman team. The four players named all-conference this season is the most for since putting four on the prestigious lists in That year, Katy Frierson was named an All- SEC first teamer, while Rebecca Howell and Sammy Towne were put on the second team. Goalkeeper Amy Howard was named All- Freshman. With its four players this year, had the second-most players in the conference named All-SEC, behind just Florida and Texas A&M, who each put five on the all-conference lists. Going back to this year s players, Ramsier becomes the second player ever to be named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Former All-American Katy Frierson won the award back during her senior year in With her GPA in a double-major of Accounting and Finance, Ramsier is on track to graduate a full year early from the honors college and begin work on her master s degree next fall. PROTECTING HOME FIELD AT ALL COSTS was at home this season before its 1-0 loss to Georgia last Sunday. Even with the loss, the home regular-season record is still one of the best in history. The nine wins matches the most home wins in school history in one season (2002). The Tigers have never gone undefeated and untied upon through an entire season in program history. Only in 2002 and 2003 did come close, recording one tie. CASIE RAMSIER...NEVER SATISFIED With now 12 goals on the 2015 season, Casie Ramsier is on her way to one of the best seasons in history. Her 12 goals makes her the first 12-goal scorer in a season since Sarah Steinmann had 12 in It hasn t taken Ramsier long to reach the 10-goal plateau as most of her goal-scoring performances have come with more than one goal per game. In the seven matches she has scored in this year, five have been of the two goal variety. The five multi-goal games puts Ramsier in good company in the all-time ranks tying Tammy Waine who also had five games of two goals or more (2000) in one season since #MEGUHSTRONG For the last seven seasons, Megan Young has been the strength and conditioning coach for the Soccer team. Last month, Young was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and will be absent for the rest of the 2015 season. Young, a player-favorite over the years has touched many young female lives over her years on the staff and is the longest tenured current member on Coach Hoppa s support staff. A website has been created to help fund the medical expenses of Young, who will be getting treatment in Birmingham, Ala. The website is meguhstrong.mydagsite.com. With the large outpouring of support for Young in her fight, a hashtag has been established by the soccer team, #MeguhStrong. TROUTMAN WINS SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK HONORS AFTER WINNER AT ALABAMA After netting the biggest goal of her career, so far, soccer freshman Taylor Troutman was named the Southeastern Conference s Freshman of the Week. Troutman scored the game-winner in doubleovertime against in-state rival Alabama in the Iron Bowl of Soccer last Thursday, breaking a 1-1 tie to help give its fifth win in a row, fourth in conference play. After both teams battled to a 1-1 draw through the first 100 minutes of play, finally got a break in the tough winds that came through the Tuscaloosa area that night. Sophomore Hannah has been able to win when it matters most this season. The Tigers have been taken into doubleovertime four times this season, winning or advancing each time. (Last vs. S. Carolina - SEC Tourn. - Won in PKs).

9 Alspach sent in a ball to the far post in the 103rd minute, where Troutman raced in untouched to head the ball in beautifully, giving the opposing keeper no chance to stop it. For Troutman, it was her third goal of the year and first game-winner of her career. Troutman becomes the fourth player and only freshman with three or more goals this season, joining Casie and Brooke Ramsier along with Kristen Dodson. With the honor, it also breaks the program record for number of players named conference player of the week in a singleseason. In the 2003 and 2004 seasons, won four player of the week awards. This year, the team has accumulated five of the weekly honors, most out of any team in the SEC. TIGERS GETTING IT DONE IN OVERTIME After winning 2-1 in double-overtime at Alabama, has proven it knows how to win after regulation. The win at Alabama was the Tigers third double-overtime victory joining the likes of a 1-0 win at Long Beach State and a 3-2 win in its SEC home opener against LSU. This is the first time in s history that the Tigers have won three games in a season in double-overtime. Even though s first tie of the year was recorded Wednesday night with South Carolina, still came out on the winning side, defeating the Gamecocks 5-3 on penalty kicks to advance to the SEC Tournament semifinals. Game-winners in each have been scored by Brooke Ramsier (LBSU), Casie Ramsier (LSU) and Taylor Troutman (Alabama). AUBURN SOCCER ACHIEVES HIGHEST RANKING IN PROGRAM HISTORY AT NO. 8 With late wins over LSU and No. 9 Florida last week, the soccer team was expecting a rise in the national polls. When the polls were released, was No. 8 in the country according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Tigers dropped in this week s polls after a loss at No. 10 South Carolina and a win at home over No. 17 Texas A&M to 10th in the NSCAA poll and 12th in the Top Drawer Soccer poll. The No. 8 ranking sets a new highest ranking ever achieved by the soccer program in its history. This year, has been ranked for the past eight weeks, reaching No. 9 nearly three weeks ago before the SEC opener, which was the previous high. Before this year, had only reached the top-ten once back in 2004, en route to a 15-win season, which is still a school record for wins in a season. CASIE RAMSIER NAMED NATIONAL AND CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Still just a few days removed from helping to a thrilling 3-2 victory over No. 9 Florida on her winning goal in the final 30 seconds, junior Casie Ramsier raked in another weekly honor as she was named the National Player of the Week by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Ramsier was crucial in s thrilling wins over LSU and Florida this past weekend, both by scores of 3-2. The win over Florida was s first over the Gators since 2011 and first over a top-ten team since the same year. The national honor for Ramsier makes her only the second player to ever be named the National Player of the Week. Former All-American Katy Frierson was named National Player of the Week twice in her career, each in the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Ramsier scored two goals in both wins, both game-winners; the winning goal over LSU coming minutes into the second overtime period and the winner against Florida coming s Casie Ramsier has 12 goals on the year, making her the first player with 12 or more goals in a year since 2002 (Sarah Steinmann). The 12 goals is three more than her entire total freshman year (9, 2013). in the final 30 seconds of regulation. AUBURN CLAIMS 100 SEC VICTORIES IN PROGRAM HISTORY WITH WIN OVER TENNESSEE Entering its 22nd year of existence the women s soccer program has been the since the beginning of SEC Women s Soccer. When the SEC adopted women s soccer as a recognized conference sport in 1993, was one of the first four schools to field a team that year. AUBURN GOES UNDEFEATED IN NON- CONFERENCE PLAY FOR FIRST TIME IN PROGRAM HISTORY With its 2-1 win over in-state rival South Alabama, the Tigers finished the nonconference portion of their 2015 schedule with a perfect record. The perfect record marked the first time that had ever gone through the nonconference portion of their schedule with all wins and no ties since the team s inception in The last time an team ever came close to going undefeated and untied in nonconference play was in 2000, as the Tigers went overall, losing to just Dayton, 3-1. LAST TIME OUT: AUBURN FALLS IN SEC TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS TO TOP-SEEDED FLORIDA After two Florida goals in the first half, the 19th-ranked soccer team fought valiantly to try and make its second two-goal comeback in as many games, but could not get anything to hit the back of the net, falling 2-0 to No. 5 Florida Friday night in the SEC Tournament semifinals. Florida s Christen Westphal and Savannah Jordan provided the goals for the Gators within the first 18 minutes of regulation, but the Tigers were able to control much of the possession for the remainder of the game, getting many good looks at the goal, but getting nothing to fall. It was seemingly a tale of two halves between the Tigers and Gators. Florida controlled the possession game in the first 45 minutes, outshooting 6-3, but when the Tigers came out in the second half, it was that went on the offensive. Seven shots were put up by the Tigers in the second half, compared to Florida s one. Juniors Brooke and Casie Ramsier were doing everything they could to try and create something through the midfield, but each time Florida s back line was able to clear the ball or force a wayward shot.

10 did have a few unlucky breaks during the second half. In the 52nd minute, got what looked to be a key corner kick from Brooke Ramsier. Ramsier placed the ball perfectly in the middle of the box, where it was deflected right to Casie near the left post. Casie fired a shot that bounced off the Florida goalkeeper and in, but was called offsides. Just a minute later, Casie Ramsier again came up with a big play intercepting the back pass from Florida in the right side of the box and was able to get Florida keeper Kaylan Marckese in a 1v1. Ramsier shot far post, but it was just tipped by Marckese and rolled just wide of the post. Casie and Brooke Ramsier ended up with five shots combined, one each on goal. Samantha Solaru, Hannah Alspach and Kala Faulkner also provided a shot on goal in the match, forcing Marckese to make five saves for Florida. LEEK RACKING UP THE ASSIST NUMBERS Although still scoreless this year, sophomore Ellie Leek has found a way to contribute anyway, posting five assists so far this season, good for second on the team. Leek notched two assists in each of the matches against Furman (8/30) and South Alabama (9/13), which is a new single-game high for the Wales-native. She also had an assist against Samford (9/4), along with four shots, one being on goal. Leek has become a staple on the front line for the Tigers, creating multiple scoring opportunities off counter-attacks this season. SIMANTEL STEPS UP After teammate Haley Gerken went down with a season-ending knee injury, senior Sophie Simantel was called upon by head coach Karen Hoppa to fill the gap in the back. Simantel started the next five matches on s back line after Gerken s injury, logging 70 minutes or more in four of the last five contests Before this season, Simantel had only played a full 90 minutes four times in her career. This year she has logged 90 minutes against Samford (9/4) and South Alabama (9/13). Out of the five matches she s started this season, she has helped to two shutouts, Samford and Old Dominion (9/6). Le Beau earned the win and shutout in both matches of opening weekend, turning away a combined nine shots on goal vs. UC-Irvine and Long Beach State. Her performance netted her the SEC Defensive Player of the Week honor, just the sixth AU goalkeeper to do so. Le Beau has made eight saves in a game twice so far this season (Missouri, 9/11) (Long Beach State, 8/23), which ties for the secondmost in a game by any SEC goalkeeper this year. THE BELGIAN SENSATION: CHARLOTTE VAN ISHOVEN Freshman and Belgian international Charlotte Van Ishoven didn t waste any time making her presence in America after scoring on a header Friday against UCI, the game-winning goal in that match. Van Ishoven only played two minutes in that match, the final two minutes of the first half, but found herself in the right place in the box after a deflection, which ended up being the gamewinner. Van Ishoven played a combined 15 minutes in the opening weekend and should see more playing time as the season progresses. ONE ISN T ALWAYS THE LONLIEST NUMBER The 1-0 wins over UCI and Long Beach State were impressive starts for in their own right, but it was also the first time ever started a season with two 1-0 victories. The Tigers went on to face Florida Gulf Coast in the first round and advanced to round two with a 1-0 victory. It was the sixth time in its history that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers did not make the NCAA Tournament field in 2013, but Hoppa continued her streak of SEC Tournament appearances, stretching now to 13 years, going back to With six matches remaining in the regular-season, found themselves on the outside looking in, needing to record a point in each of the remaining matches to stay mathematically eligible for the postseason. The Tigers rattled off a win or a tie in each of the final six matches, which included three-straight ties, something had never done. The Orange and Blue made the 2013 SEC Tournament field and recorded a 1-0 win over LSU in overtime after a penalty kick found the back of the net from senior Bianca Sierra. Hoppa guided the 2012 Tigers to yet another appearance in the NCAA Tournament, as advanced to the second round for the second consecutive season. Picked to finish third in the division in the preseason, the Tigers posted a record against SEC West opponents for a second place finish. Hoppa worked her SEC Tournament magic yet again, leading the Tigers to the championship match for the fifth time. Highlighting the 2012 season was senior goalkeeper Amy Howard. Howard ended the year leading the nation in minutes played (2298:56) and eighth in total saves (130). Hoppa has also seen a trio of her players earn CoSIDA Academic All- America recognition in Katy Frierson (2011), Jenn Johnson (2007 & 2008) and Erin Hinson (2003) while Frierson was named the NSCAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year in In 2014, sophomore Casie Ramsier was honored as a Capital One Academic All-District.
