4 Coaching Staff Matilda Mossman Head Coach Western Kentucky, th Year Matilda Mossman is in her fourth season at The University of Tulsa after being appointed as the head women s basketball coach on March 22, Mossman took over a five-win team and in just her second year won a conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. In her first season at the helm of the program, the Hurricane posted 13 wins, finished league play with an 8-8 record and a sixth-place league finish, which was the best since A year later, the program took another big step forward as the Hurricane captured the Conference USA tournament title, advanced to the NCAA Tournament and posted the first non-losing record (17-17) since She coached two-time all-conference USA performer Taleya Mayberry, and helped Kelsee Grovey earn C-USA All- Freshman team accolades, as well as Mayberry, Grovey and Tiffani Couisnard receive C-USA All-Tournament team recognition. During the season, TU posted a overall record, including a 6-10 mark in Conference USA. Mossman coached sophomore Ashley Clark to all-c-usa second team accolades. In 11 years as a collegiate head coach, Mossman has registered an overall record. She had a mark at Arkansas ( ), an mark at Kansas State ( ), and has a record in three seasons at Tulsa. She has served as a head collegiate coach for 11 years, while coaching on the high school level for nine seasons. In 20 years as a head coach, Mossman has compiled a record for a.667 winning percentage. In 2013, Mossman was one of three collegiate head coaches invited to be a court coach for the 2013 USA Basketball Women s U19 World Championship and World University Games Team Trials. Mossman was also one of 32 collegiate coaches invited to attend the 2013 Women s Basketball Coaches Association s (WBCA) Center for Coaching Excellence (CCE) program at Columbia University in New York City. More than 125 college women s basketball coaches have completed the program since its inception in The CCE, which was developed by Dr. M. Dianne Murphy, Director, Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education in partnership with the WBCA, is an elite leadership-training program that focuses on providing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the importance of ethics and integrity in college women s basketball. Prior to her appointment at Tulsa, Mossman served as the head basketball coach at Norman High School from , where her teams compiled an overall record for a.796 winning percentage. Her teams qualified for the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Association (OSSAA) Class 6A state tournament in the last eight of her nine seasons at NHS, and won eight straight regional championships. Mossman led Norman High School to the state title in 2005, and a runner-up performance in She was named the conference coach of the year three times, while earning regional and district coach of the year accolades twice. Mossman coached various players at Norman High School who earned college scholarships, including Division I student-athletes Sarah Gayler (New Orleans), Sade Morris (Kansas), Kara Vaughan (Tulsa), Taylor Hardeman (Oklahoma State), Ashley Bruner (South Carolina), Lacy Ramon (Mercer) and Kamra King (Texas-San Antonio). Before her appointment at Norman High School, Mossman spent one year as the assistant girls basketball coach at Norman North High School, and that team completed the season with a 22-4 record and advanced to the Class 6A state semifinals. Before moving to Norman, Mossman spent seven years ( ) as a health & physical education teacher and girls basketball coach at Normal (Ill.) Community High School. Mossman began her coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at her alma mater, Western Kentucky University, in The next season, Mossman served as an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas. A year later, at age 24, Mossman was promoted to the head coaching position at Arkansas, where she served for three seasons. She was a member of the same athletic department staff with athletic director Frank Broyles, head football coach Lou Holtz and men s basketball coach Eddie Sutton. With three freshmen starters, Mossman s first Lady Razorback squad in compiled a record and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the final AIAW National Tournament. It was the first of three straight 20-win seasons at Arkansas. Mossman then served as the head coach at Kansas State ( ), where she posted four winning seasons in five years. Her 1987 Wildcat team won the Big Eight Conference Championship and posted an overall 22-9 record, and for her efforts she was named the Big Eight Conference Coach of the Year. Following her stint at Kansas State, Mossman served as an assistant coach at Illinois State under WBCA Hall of Fame Coach Jill Hutchison for three seasons ( ). She left the collegiate coaching profession following the season to spend time raising her two sons, while also teaching and coaching in Illinois. Mossman earned a bachelor s degree in physical education in 1979 and her graduate degree in education in 1980, both from Western Kentucky. She has two sons, Scott and Matt.

Before his appointment, Coffey served 11 seasons as the head girl s basketball coach at Edmond Memorial High School. He compiled an overall record while leading eight of his teams to the regional championship. Coffey s teams advanced to the state quarterfinals six times (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2010 and 2011) and moved into the semifinals in four of those seasons. Coffey was named the Regional Coach of the Year three times and twice was selected as the Mid-State Conference Coach of the Year. He helped 24 of his players earn college scholarships, including five at Division I schools. Previously, Coffey served as the assistant boy s basketball coach at Edmond Memorial High School for four years ( ) and was the head boy s coach at Edmond Central Middle School for two seasons ( ). Coffey received his bachelor s degree in social sciences and education from Oklahoma State in He and his wife, Kerri, have a son, Hayden, and a daughter, Emersyn. Britney Brown Recruiting Coordinator Oklahoma, th Year Britney Brown is in her fourth season at The University of Tulsa. Brown came to Tulsa after serving two years ( ) as an assistant basketball coach at Putnam City West High School. Before that, Brown was the video coordinator/ film exchange coach for the women s basketball team at the University of Oklahoma for two years ( ), and coached individual basketball lessons and camps while earning her graduate degree. Brown was a four-year letterwinner at Oklahoma, playing in 129 games and starting 59 contests. During her career, she led OU to five combined Big 12 Conference regular season and tournament championships, including a perfect 19-0 record in league play as a junior. Brown also helped lead Oklahoma to four NCAA Tournament berths, including a Sweet 16 appearance during her junior and senior campaigns. For her efforts, she earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades in A 2007 Oklahoma graduate, Brown was a camp instructor at the OU women s basketball summer camps from 2003 through A native of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Brown played prep basketball at Norman North High School, where she finished her career as the school s all-time scoring and assists leader. Brown earned her bachelor s degree in communication in 2007 and a master s degree in human relations in 2009, both from the University of Oklahoma.

7 Tulsa Women s WoMen s Basketball Coaching Prospectus Staff Megan Robbins Assistant Coach Oklahoma State, nd Year Megan Byford is in her second year at The University of Tulsa. In her first season, TU posted a overall record, including a 6-10 mark in Conference USA. Byford came to Tulsa following one season as a graduate assistant coach at Oklahoma State. She assisted with post player development, helped with in-practice drills and assisted the recruiting coordinator in daily responsibilities. Prior to coaching at Oklahoma State, Byford served as a graduate assistant coach at Pittsburg State for one season ( ) and as an assistant coach at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid for one season ( ). She helped Pitt State reach the NCAA Division II Elite 8 in 2012 and a year earlier helped Northern Oklahoma JC advance to the NJCAA Final Four. Byford played at OSU for three seasons ( ), where she was a starting post player for two years and served as team captain as a senior. She helped guide the Cowgirls to three-straight postseason tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 showing in 2008, the WNIT Second Round in 2009, and a No. 3 seed and NCAA Second Round performance in Byford led the Cowgirls in field goal percentage all three years, and finished her career ranked fourth in field goal percentage and sixth in blocked shots. Amanda Sorrier Dir. of Basketball Operations Kansas, th Year Amanda Sorrier is in her fourth season as Director of Operations with the women s basketball team. She is responsible for team scheduling, office administration, travel accommodations and summer camp administration, as well as serving as the liaison with marketing and media relations. Sorrier came to Tulsa after serving as the administrative assistant for the Arizona women s basketball team and head coach Niya Butts for two seasons ( ). Her duties included overseeing all aspects of the women s basketball office, maintaining day-to-day calendars, assisting the recruiting coordinator with official visits and coordinating travel itineraries, serving as the assistant director of summer camps, and assisting with the marketing efforts for fan events. Sorrier s experience with collegiate women s basketball began during her tenure as Head Manager for the Kansas women s basketball team from She coordinated and supervised all entry-level managers, was responsible for the equipment for all road trips, aided the administrative assistant with daily practice activities, including statistics, and assisted the coaches and staff in all aspects of the program. A native of Stilwell, Kansas, Sorrier earned her degree in communication studies from the University of Kansas in Byford began her college career at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, where she was named a third-team NJCAA All-American and led the nation in field goal percentage at 71.4-percent. Byford, a native of Bray, Okla., earned her bachelor s degree in journalism and broadcasting from Oklahoma State in 2009, a master s degree in athletic and leisure management from Pittsburg State in 2012, and a master s degree in education from Oklahoma State in 2013.

8 Tulsa WoMen s Basketball Coaching Staff Chelsea Turner Director of Player Development/Team Manager Cameron, nd Year Chelsea Turner is in her second season as Director of Player Development/Team Manager with the women s basketball team. Turner served as a basketball coach for the University of Oklahoma Women s Basketball Summer Camps from 2007 to 2012, where she worked directly with the youth on basketball fundamentals, as well as other aspects of the game. Turner was a four-year letterwinner at Cameron University from , serving as the team captain as a junior and senior. Turner earned her bachelor s degree in human ecology in May 2007 from Cameron, and her master s degree in human relations in 2009 from Oklahoma. Logan Froese Graduate Manager Rogers State, st Year Logan Froese is in her first year as the Graduate Manager with the women s basketball team. Froese served as a student coach and manager from at Rogers State, where she helped with game and travel preparation. Froese was a four-year letterwinner at Rogers State from She holds school records for points (1,188), rebounds (782) and games played (129), as well as field goals made, free throws made, free throws attempted, offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds. Froese was a two-time all-state selection at Claremore High School. Froese earned her bachelor s degree in sport management in 2014 from RSU. Christine Elliott Video Coordinator SMU, st Year Christine Elliott is in her first year as the Video Coordinator, after serving as the Graduate Manager during the season with the women s basketball team. Elliott came to Tulsa from Butler Community College where she was an assistant basketball coach during the season. Elliott was a four-year letterwinner at SMU from , playing in 121 games. During her career, she scored 1,167 points and pulled down 900 rebounds, and set two records for most rebounds by a freshman (224) and most rebounds in a game (21). Elliott was named to the Conference USA All-Tournament Team as a senior in 2012 and to the C-USA All-Freshman Team in Elliott earned her bachelor s degree in sociology in 2012 from SMU.
