1 Issue 37 November 2016 Book Review: Took Adriana D. & Sophia C. The book Took starts off with Daniel and his sister, Erica moving from Conneticut to West Virginia. Daniel and his sister hear a story about a witch who lives up their hill and had kidnapped a girl named Selena 50 years ago. They didn t believe the stories, and everything was normal for a while. Soon Erica hears her name in the wind and only talkes to her beloved doll, Little Erica about hearing her name being called. It actually wasn t the wind and her doll couldn t really talk. It turned out to be the old witch that they had heard about in those stories that was talking to Erica. The witch Took Erica! Daniel was the first person to realize it. Can he save Erica from the old witch named Auntie or will Erica be another girl Took for fifty years? I would definelty read this book to find out. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child By, Claire R. On July, , the 8 th Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, came out. But something is different between this new book and the 7 other books that Rowling has published: it s written as a play. The play is being performed in England. Author, J.K Rowling stated that her next story simply could not be a normal book. Different fans said different things about The Cursed Child. A large handful of fans are disappointed that J.K. didn t actually write the book. J.K. Rowling wrote the storyline along with John Tiffany and Jack Thorne. Jack Throne wrote the context and John Tiffany is the director of the play. An interview was conducted with Raina, another newspaper club writer: Claire: What do you like most about The Cursed Child? Raina: I like how there are a lot of unexpected plot twists. It makes the story really gripping. Claire: Do have any complaints? Raina: Well, the only complaint I have is that sometimes it can be a little confusing. Claire: Some people aren t happy that J.K Rowling didn t actually write the book. What s your opinion on this?

2 Raina: I don t have many complaints because J.K. Rowling wrote the storyline so it s still technically her writing. Claire: Do you, personally, refer to this book as the 8 th Harry Potter? Raina: Yes. I consider it an addition to the Harry Potter Series Claire: One last question: what is your opinion on the play format? Raina: Like I said before, it makes it confusing because it goes back and forth with the dialogue all the time. Claire: Would you recommend the book to Harry Potter fans that haven t read it yet? Raina: Yes. So, if you re a Harry Potter fan and haven t read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child yet, many fans would advise you to. Then again, some would advise against it. You make the decision. Golden State Warriors By: Joshua M. The Golden State Warriors are a Pro Basketball team in The National Basketball Association. They are stationed in Oakland, California, and play at Oracle Arena. The colors of The Golden State Warriors are royal blue, golden yellow, slate, and white. Past Championship years have been 1947, 1956, 1975, and Roster The 2016 to 2017 roster includes players Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iquodala, Ian Clark, Cameron Jones, Damian Jones, Shaun Livingston, Kevon Looney, James McAdoo, Patrick McCaw, JaVale McGee, Zaza Pachulia, Phil Pressey, Anderson Varejao, David West, and Elliot Williams. Kevin Durant became a free agent right after the 2015 to 2016 season and was going to leave the his draft team. He wanted to win a championship; something he did not think he could do with Oklahoma and Russell Wrestbrook. He then decided to go to the Golden State Warriors, thinking he could win a championship with them. He felt that they had good players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. It is called the Fantastic-Four era because of these four superstar players. Stephen Curry is a NBA superstar for the Golden State Warriors. He was born on March, 14 th, 1988, in Akron, Ohio. He is also the son of NBA player Dell Curry. Some people call him the greatest NBA shooter ever, which basically is the truth. He can almost always make a 3-Point shot. If he is not being blocked by a player, and he shoots from behind the 3-Point arc, he WILL make it. Steph, (his nickname), plays point-guard and stands 6 foot 3 and 190 lbs., around the average height and weight of a NBA Point Guard. Stephen Curry is probably the best NBA player who has ever played on the Golden State Warriors. Some NBA players like LeBron James and Kyrie Irving have their own shoe or clothing line. Stephen Curry is also one of those players. He is sponsored by Under Armor, a top sports company. Stephen Curry is one of NBA s top players.

3 No Gum in School By Shaela R. and Kaylene C. Jonathan is dumb. He always chews gum. He spits it all over the place. Oh no! It s gum!!! How dumb. Remember NO GUM IN SCHOOL! Reasons why: #1. You can t talk with globs of gum in your mouth. You also might choke. #2. Some people make gum collages underneath desks and tables. Yuck! Please never do that. #3. Some people chew gum as loud as a cow munching grass. It can be very distracting. #4. Sometimes chewing gum makes you more likely to crave junk food. That is not healthy. #5. Chewing gum can cause tooth decay. Gum with sugar coats your teeth in sugar. Sugar-free gum often has acidic flavoring that erode your teeth. #6. Chewing gum can give you a headache because it over-works your jaw muscles. So, if you are a gum chewer at HOME, just make sure you don t have too much of it. BREAKING NEWS! 6 The History of Lacrosse By: Garrett L. A lot of people might not know about the game Lacrosse or the history behind the sport. Lacrosse was invented in the year The game back then would have been played with between 100 to 1,000 men in one game. They would play from sun up to sun down. The goals would sometimes be separated by up to 6 miles. Back then there were not a lot of rules such as out of bounds. The game would begin with the ball being thrown in the air at the center of the field. After it was thrown, the players would all run to the ball and try to get it. When the game started everybody became a mob and swarmed the ball. Now you know a little bit about the history behind lacrosse. Maybe it is a game you would like to learn. Super Hero/The Flash By Israel C. You might be wondering who The Flash is. Some guesses may be a light or a blur of sorts maybe. Well these are all characteristics The Flash has. He moves at the speed of light. In real life this may be impossible but nothing is impossible in the world of comics. The Flash is a trade mark of DC Comics which is an organization that makes popular comics, mostly for teens. DC Comics was created in 1938, long before your parents were born. But let s not get off topic- The Flash got his powers from being struck by lightning. Let s go back in time even more. His parents were killed by someone in a yellow suit, moving at super speed. Now back to the future. Before he was The Flash he worked as a forensic scientist. He was struck by lightning and had chemicals affect him. He was in a coma for multiple months. When he was let out of the hospital, some strange things were happening; things like everyone suddenly freezing. He was let into S.T.A.R. Labs, a fictional research facility. There was a man there named Dr. Wells who told him that he knows things about him that even he didn t know. The Flash was then told he had super speed. Dr. Wells created a super treadmill to use to get The Flash s speed faster so he could find and maybe kill the person that killed his mom. The Flash has many adaptations. He has a 1990 TV show and season 3 of a TV show going on right now. A movie is coming out in March 2018 so be ready to go see it. I know I will!
