2 MANSFIELD (L, 26-6 at Cheyney) Rodney Davis caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Blakeslee with 29 seconds left but it would be much too little, much too late for Mansfi eld as the Mountaineers fell 26-6 at Cheyney in a PSAC East game Saturday afternoon. Mansfi eld struggled offensively in the fi rst half, managing just 55 yards in total offense. Still the Mountaineer trailed by just 6-0 at halftime and were moving the ball after taking the second half kickoff before Cheyney s Demel Chambers intercepted a pass and returned it for a 55-yard touchdown. Cheyney scored two more touchdowns, including a 69-yard touchdown run by Chinoso Okoro with just under three minutes to play. Mansfi eld avoided being shutout by scoring on its last possession for the third straight game. It was the fi rst Cheyney win over Mansfi eld since 1998 and snapped the Wolves 65-game losing streak against PSAC East teams. Tyler Blakeslee completed 18-of-44 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown, while being intercepted twice. Rodney Davis had eight catches for 75 yards, while freshman Tucker Berry ran for 43-yards on nine carries. Andre Turner led the defense with seven tackles with freshman Josh Miller recording six. The Huskies have won eight straight games against the Mountaineers and haven t lost in Mansfi eld since Coach Hale has a perfect 13-0 record against Mansfi eld. COACH HALE SOUNDS OFF: LAST WEEK... Another great TEAM victory. Having two backs rush for 180 yards each usually equates to victory. Our offensive line play was superior and our defense continues to play well. LOOKING AHEAD... This week we face a team that is struggling due to the loss of some key players prior to the season. I feel for Coach Shiffer who is an excellent Coach and person. We will certainly NOT take them lightly. This is a PSAC East game!! 3 HUSKIES IN THE NFL On April 30, 2006 the New Orleans Saints selected former Bloomsburg All-American offensive tackle Jahri Evans in the fourth round (108th overall) in the NFL draft. In just his rookie season, Evans is the starting right guard for the 5-1 team. Before their only loss of the season, Evans had a streak of 15-straight regular season wins dating back to the Huskies 2004 season. Before Evans, the last BU alumni in the NFL was Eric Jonassen who was drafted as lineman for the San Diego Chargers in The most notable former Husky in the NFL was the Giants Bob Tucker who had an 11-year career in which he caught 422 passes for 5,421 yards and scored 27 touchdowns. Tucker still ranks fourth all-time in school history with 131 receptions.

4 NEWS AND NOTES HECK ON ALL-TIME RUSHING LIST After a 180-yard rushing performance against Kutztown, Josh Heck has moved into ninth place on the all-time Bloomsburg career rushing list. Heck passed both Jerry Marks (1,694 yards from ) and Jim Browning (1,607 yards from ). In two and a half seasons, he has 1,711 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. During his career as a Husky, Heck has rushed for 100 or more yards in a game six times. Before last week s 180-yards, his career-high was 153 rushing yards in a game which he accomplished as a freshman in 2003 against Cheyney. 4 ALLEN JOINS A SELECT FEW With four touchdowns in Saturday s game against Kutztown, Christian Allen became just the sixth player under Coach Hale to score at least four in one game. The feat has been accomplished 11 times STAT LEADERS under Hale. Irv Sigler and Jamar Brittingham have the most four or more touchdown games, each contributing three in their careers. Under Coach Hale, only three times has a player scored more than four touchdowns in a game, with the record being fi ve. In 1995 Mike Johnson scored fi ve times against Cheyney, while Irv Sigler did it against East Stroudsburg in 1996 and then against Cheyney in CURRENTLY STREAKING After a victory over Kutztown, the Huskies have now won 17 consecutive regular season games against PSAC teams regardless of division. The streak is the second longest in school history behind a streak of 19-straight under coach Robert Redman from The win over Kutztown was the 14th straight for Bloomsburg against the Golden Bears, the third longest winning streak against an opponent in Bloomsburg History. Of the fi ve highest winning streaks against a single opponent, three of the Huskies streaks are active: Straight Wins Opponent Years 16 Cheyney Mansfi eld Kutztown Mansfi eld Lock Haven SCORING DRIVES The Huskies have put together some long scoring drives this year in terms of the time of the drive, yards and also plays in the drive. On the season, Bloomsburg has had 12 scoring drives with 10 or more plays, eight drives over fi ve minutes and fi ve drives that spanned over 80-yards. KEY TO VICTORY? -- LEAD AT THE HALF In 152 career games at Bloomsburg, Coach Hale s teams have been ahead at halftime in 103 contests and have won 92% of them (95-8). Trailing at the half, the Huskies are under Hale and the team is 3-2 in games tied going into the locker room. AGAINST THE EAST All-time the Huskies are (.570) against the Eastern Division. In the Danny Hale era, Bloomsburg is (.854) against the East. Coach Hale has had six seasons where his teams did not lose a PSAC East game. Under Hale, the Huskies have a winning record against all of the Eastern Division schools and are undefeated against Cheyney, Kutztown and Mansfi eld. Hale s worst record against an Eastern Division school is still pretty good with an (.680) record against Millersville. HUSKIES AMONG PSAC LEADERS Several Huskies are on the conference leaderboard.
