Concordia won it s last road game, a triumph at Minot State. The Peacocks are coming off a pair of losses to nationallyranked opponents, falling at #25 Minnesota Duluth two weeks ago before a home loss to #1 Minnesota State last week. ESPN COLLEGE GAMEDAY TO FEATURE HANK GOFF A project that has been in the works since August, an ESPN producer has confirmed that a College GameDay camera and audio crew will be at the October 17 game against #1 Minnesota State at Sea Foam Stadium. College GameDay will run a Veteran s Day feature segment on Saturday, November 7, the same day Concordia will honor Hank Goff and the senior class for Senior Day against Southwest Minnesota State with a noon kickoff at Sea Foam Stadium. ESPN has gravitated towards Goff s background as a top prep state champion recruit who started his career at FCS South Dakota State where he led the Jackrabbits in tackles for loss as a true freshman before leaving the program due to academic issues. Goff then enlisted in the Marines and was deployed to Afghanistan as a machine gunner. His story came full circle when adapting to his post-military life when he returned to college football with Concordia. Goff is a returning All-NSIC South Division honorable mention performer and was tabbed by USA College Football as a Preseason All-America Second Team selection. His story was first published by his uncle, Austin Murphy in Sports Illustrated with other media outlets including Fox Sports 1 and now ESPN College GameDay publicizing Goff s background which is punctuated by his military service and redemption on the college gridiron. NOTES ON THE 2015 HOME SCHEDULE The Golden Bears look to play a six game home schedule for the first time since the 2010 Mineral Water Bowl season and just the second time since Sea Foam Stadium opened in The team will welcome a pair of opponents who have never played at Sea Foam Stadium, MSU Moorhead in week two and Southwest Minnesota State in week 10. LAST WEEK: WINONA STATE 51, CONCORDIA 7 The Golden Bears started with the ball and had a productive, plotting drive going against the Warriors, marching 55 yards on 11 plays spanning nearly six minutes before a fumble on 1st and 10 at the WSU 25 yard line turned the ball over. Concordia s defense would stop the Warriors with a 3-and-out, but Concordia would be sacked twice on its second drive. Winona State took advantage, punching in a touchdown on an 11-play, 65-yard drive to take the first lead 7-0 with 2:26 to play in the first quarter. On Concordia s next drive, Ben Schramski s deflected pass hit an official over the middle of the field, slowly falling to the ground with a WSU defender intercepting the ball just before it hit the ground. The stroke of bad luck resulted in a touchdown two plays later for the Warriors and a 14-0 lead at the quarter break. From there, it was all Winona State as the Warriors mounted a 24-point second quarter for a 38-0 halftime lead. Concordia compiled 17 first downs compared to WSU s 22, but the Warriors had 532 yards of offense to CSP s 255 and forced five Concordia turnovers while playing turnover-free. Further, WSU was on third down to Concordia 5-11, and 8-9 in the red zone to Concordia s 1-2. Schramski passed for 191 yards, completing with eight passes going to Alquawn Vickers (87 yards) and eight going to Jason Oney (59 yards). Sophomore Ben Schramski has assumed the starting nod for the Golden Bears. In 2014 as a redshirt freshman, Schramski started the final five games and sent the team into the offseason with a four game winning streak under center. In 2015, Schramski has completed 51.4 percent of his passes (55-107) for 684 yards and four touchdowns while adding another touchdown on the ground. With nine career starts, Schramski has 1478 passing yards and eight touchdowns with 266 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
