Carroll actually scored three points, had three blocks, two assists and a steal in the fi nal 7:35 of the MU win vs. Purdue... The Birmingham native also added a careerhigh tying four steals vs. McNeese State and UMKC, showing another way he has impacted a Tiger win. > Carroll was recently named one of Seth Davis (Sports Illustrated) Key Faces in New Places for > ESPN s Andy Katz also said there may not be a harder working interior player -- outside of Tyler Hansbrough -- than DeMarre Carroll. > In case you were wondering, Carroll dominates the classroom too and needs seven hours in the spring semester to fi nish his degree and begin his Masters work in Administration. > Stefhon Hannah will miss the next 3-5 weeks with a fractured jaw that was suffered on Jan Prior to the injury Hannah had reached double figures in 24 of his last 27 games, including a four 20-point efforts this season. > Hannah seemed to step up his game in Big 12 play and has reached double fi gures in 19- of-22 career league games, including a run of 10 consecutive Big 12 contests dating back to last season. > Prior to the injury, Hannah s scoring numbers were up dramatically in Big 12 action and the senior led the team with 16.8 points per outing... When you factor in his 5.3 assists per game this year, the senior guard is actually accounting for 26.9 of Mizzou s 80.8 points per game (including assists on three-point fi eld goals). > Hannah s 5.3 assists are the second most in school history, behind the 5.8 dimes per game dished out by Anthony Peeler ( ). > Hannah also has 105 assists and 38 steals on the year... For his short career, Hannah has had fi ve or more dimes 28 times (including 14-of-20 games this year) and multiple steals 30 times, which is no surprise since the 6-foot-1 senior was named the nation s ninth-best perimeter defender by Fran Fraschilla and ESPN.com. > As you would expect, Hannah is a preseason candidate for the Bob Cousy National Point Guard of the Year Award. > Not to be outdone, Keon Lawrence has reached double figures in 22 of his last 31 games, including a career high 25 points at Kansas on ESPN Big Monday. > Lawrence now has multiple 20-point games this season, both of which came on the road, including a 24-point effort at Texas Tech. > Because of those efforts, it s not surprising that Lawrence is averaging an improved 12.0 points per game on the road this year. > Lawrence has enjoyed some strong play vs. the Big 12 South... In 10 career games vs. The South, Lawrence has reached double fi gures seven times, including 24 points vs. Baylor, 18 points at Oklahoma State and the game-winning jumper vs. Oklahoma last season. > Lawrence also dumped in 18 points in the win over No. 12/13 Texas... At one point, Lawrence scored 10 consecutive points in the fi rst half for the Tigers setting the stage for the upset win. > The dynamic guard is also third on the team with 14 blocks. > As was documented by the Kansas City Star, there are no off days for Lawrence, as he makes 1,000 shots each day the team is given off by head coach Mike Anderson. > Fellow sophomore J.T. Tiller has added a consistent offensive punch over the last four games in addition to being the team s top perimeter defender... Tiller is averaging 13.0 points during the surge. > Tiller scored a career high 20 points vs. No. 22 Kansas State to lead the Tigers to the upset win, following a then-career high 14 points in the initial meeting with Nebraska. > For his efforts, the Marietta, Ga., native was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Feb. 4. > Although scoring production gets more publicity, Tiller is one of the Big 12 s top defenders and leads Mizzou with 87 defl ections. > The Georgia native earned his fi rst career start vs. Coppin State and responded with 10 points, three assists and two steals in 25 minutes. > Tiller also reached double-fi gures vs. Illinois on Dec. 22, scoring 10 points in a career high 28 minutes. > While his scoring totals are up, Tiller played some key defensive minutes late vs. Purdue, helping to hold the Boilermakers to just one fi eld goal in the fi nal 7:47 of the game en route to Mizzou s game-winning 24-4 run. > Forming Mizzou s kamikaze line along with Tiller is senior forward Darryl Butterfield... Butterfield leads the team with 15 charges drawn this year, while adding 16 steals in just 14.6 minutes per game. > The Miami native has drawn multiple charges Mizzou Basketball

The 6- foot-7 guard hit 6-of-11 treys and tied a season high with six rebounds. > Over his last 19 games, Lawrence has hit multiple treys in 13 of those contests. > A vocal leader for the Tigers, Lawrence tied up Kansas State s Bill Walker under the Wildcat basket in the fi nal seconds to help lift Mizzou to the win, a Walker put-back would have put K- State in front with just seconds remaining. > In fact, the St. Louis native has been at his best on the road throughout his career and his shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc (48-of-114) from three-point range away from Mizzou Arena. > Leo Lyons has played much-improved basketball this season and has reached doublefi gures in 13 of his last 16 contests. > Lyons has already reached double fi gures 15 times this season, surpassing the nine double fi gure games he enjoyed his first-two seasons combined. > Lyons led Mizzou to its win at Colorado on Jan. 26, scoring 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting... TUBBY SMITH Head Coach, University of Minnesota Mike Anderson is a shining star. He is the total package. A man of high integrity, class, confi dence -- a winner! I have battled Mike Anderson teams over the years and I can tell you that his style of play will make the Big 12 coaches feel uneasy. I have so much respect for him and when the team, the University and the fans meet him - they will too. Congratulations to Missouri on a blockbuster hire! NOLAN RICHARDSON Former Head Coach, University of Arkansas Mike Anderson has been with me over 22 years as a player, assistant coach, and assistant head coach, and there s no question that he was a delight all the time, for all of the years we were together. I always knew that he would have the right opportunity to build a program at a place like Missouri, and that he would be a plus for any program. In my estimation he is truly one of the fi nest young basketball coaches around at this point in time. Secondly, I would like to congratulate Missouri for giving him this opportunity, and I have no doubt in my mind he will be very successful. My heart feels very proud to know that a young man under my tutelage for so many years has this wonderful opportunity. CHARLES BARKLEY, NBA Hall of Famer, NBA on TNT Analyst Missouri is very lucky and fortunate to have a coach of (Mike Anderson s) talent and charisma. I want to congratulate Missouri for picking a fi ne coach and I wish them the best of luck. DICK VITALE ESPN College Basketball Analyst Mike Anderson will bring an up-tempo, fast-paced style that will be exciting for Missouri fans. He was a protégé of Nolan Richardson and his run-press style and had Arkansas fans in Hog Heaven when they won the national title in Anderson did a great job at UAB and he will bring run-press-shoot excitement to the Columbia campus! FRAN FRASCHILLA ESPN Broadcast Analyst Mike Anderson is a proven winner and he will win at Missouri with players who will buy into his never say die style of play. He got out lot out of his fi rst Missouri team and made each individual player better. It s safe to say that, in a program that has had such great tradition of success, the pride in Tiger basketball is returning under his leadership. Come See The Show Anderson s message to the Mizzou Nation and its followers has been: This is your program. Looking to fi nd Anderson s passion outside of Mizzou Arena?... it s his family. Introduced to the Mizzou Nation along with his wife Marcheita, Anderson is the father of four children, Darcheita, Michael Jr., Yvonne and Suney. His eldest son, Michael, is a junior on this season s squad, while his nephew, former Arkansas standout, T.J. Cleveland, is an assistant coach. Another nephew, DeMarre Carroll, is now eligible to compete for Mizzou this season after transferring from Vanderbilt. Carroll was named the Big 12 s Preseason Newcomer of the Year. Anderson s family extends beyond his program as well. On Thanksgiving Day, the Anderson s will host the entire team for dinner, but will fi rst extend their arms to the Columbia Community, serving Thanksgiving Dinner to a number of local residents. The team also raised better than 700 pounds of food before Mizzou Madness this season, which in turn was enough food to provide more than 550 meals to Columbia residents for the holidays.
