During the first four contests, the Preds have gone 3-for-5 on the penalty kill, including killing all six Chicago power-play opportunities in Games Three and Four at the United Center. Nashville is presently 3-for-5 on the power-play ( percent), a mark that puts them in the top half of all playoff teams. Nashville has outhit Chicago in three-of-four contests and both out blocked and outshot the Hawks in all four games, including maintaining the shots advantage in overtimes (Game, 3-5; Game 4, -8). In Game Four alone, the Preds recorded 66 hits to Chicago s 5 (led by nine from Viktor Stalberg and seven from Gabriel Bourque) and blocked 39 shots to the Hawks 9 (led by six each from Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis). BLUE LINE SPECIAL Preds defenseman Roman Josi, who played a franchise-record 45:6 in Tuesday s triple-overtime contest, leads the all postseason skaters in time on ice (34:). With seven shots on goal in Game Four, Josi tied the Preds record for most playoff shots by a blueliner and strengthened his hold on the top spot among all playoff defensemen in the shots category (). Josi also leads defenders in blocked shots () through four games. WILSON HITS POSTSEASON RHYTHM With his goal :38 into Game Four, Colin Wilson has now opened the scoring in three of Nashville s four postseason contests in 5. Wilson has four goals (a-4pts) in four games played to lead the League in the category and tie the franchise record for most goals by a Preds player in a playoff series (last, Joel Ward and David Legwand in Western Conference Semifinal versus Vancouver). His four goals in the 5 postseason come after tallying just one goal in his 3 previous playoff outings. LAST TIME OUT: Western Conference Quarterfinal Game 4 - Nashville, Chicago 3 3OT Brent Seabrook s goal for the Hawks : into the third overtime ended the longest game in Nashville franchise history (:), surpassing the previous record of 94:5 set at Vancouver in. Four Preds players played more than 4 of the minutes: Roman Josi (45:6), Seth Jones (43:4), Mattias Ekholm (43:7) and Ryan Ellis (4:7). Nashville (5) and Chicago (48) combined for shots in the game, setting a franchise record for most shots by both teams in a playoff contest. Kevin Fiala, Nashville s first choice, th overall (first round) in the 4 Entry Draft, saw action in his first career NHL playoff game, and second career NHL game, to become the sixth youngest player in League history to play in a postseason contest. Craig Smith recorded a game-high eight shots on goal, leading a Preds roster that had 5-of-8 skaters record at least one shot on goal. All 8 Preds skaters tallied hits, led by a game-high nine from Viktor Stalberg, to give Nashville a 66-5 advantage in the category. TEAM PLAYOFF QUICK HITS Nashville leads playoff teams with 78 shots in four games played; its 44.5 shots per game is also first in the League. The Preds have five players in the NHL s Top in shots in the 5 playoffs; Craig Smith (st, 4), Roman Josi (T-3rd, ) and James Neal (T-3rd, ) are in the Top Five. Nashville has had eight players make their Stanley Cup Playoff debuts during its current 5 Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Blackhawks: Filip Forsberg, Seth Jones, Mattias Ekholm, Taylor Beck, Calle Jarnkrok, Kevin Fiala, Victor Bartley and Mike Santorelli. The Preds have won their last two Western Conference Quarterfinal appearances ( vs. Anaheim and vs. Detroit). 9 Volchenkov (86), Matt Cullen (7), Mike Ribiero (53), Paul Gaustad (5) and Shea Weber (45). INDIVIDUAL PLAYOFF QUICK HITS Craig Smith (g-3a-5pts) leads Nashville, and is tied for second in the League, in postseason points. Smith is three points shy of tying the Preds record for most points in a single playoff series (Joel Ward, 4g-4a-8pts in Western Conference Semifinal vs. Vancouver). Paul Gaustad leads Nashville and is in the NHL s Top in postseason face-off percentage (57.5). Filip Forsberg, who made his NHL playoff debut in Game One, is the youngest player ( years, 47 days) in Preds history to score a postseason goal (g-a-pts in Game Two).
