The Sarpsborg, Norway native became only the sixth Norwegian-born player to ever appear in an NHL game and just the second with the Avalanche (Anders Myrvold ). Besides Holos and Myrvold, the four other Norweigans to make the show were Espen Knutsen, Bjorn Skaare, Patrick Thoresen and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen. Holos, who has been a staple of Norway s national teams over the past few years, played the previous two seasons with Farjestads BK of the Swedish Elite League before signing an entry-level contract with the Avalanche on May 6.
