Right there between Mad Money and and American Greed: The Wealth Builder Club. Here's why: With the Bruins hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, and with two other high-profile and more competitive series in action Thursday, Game 4 has been bumped over from NBC Sports Network to another network under the NBC umbrella. For the majority of Comcast subscribers in Boston, the game will be found on channels 38 and 795 (high definition). If you are not a Comcast subscriber or cannot for some reason find the game at those channels, click on this channel-finder link and type in your zip code, cable provider, and CNBC or CNBC HD as the channel you are searching for, and It will tell you where to find it. NBCSN will carry Game 4 of the Western Conference series between the Red Wings and Blackhawks, with host Detroit holding a surprising 2-1 lead. That game begins at 8 p.m. Then at 10:30 p.m., Game 5 of the Sharks-Kings series, knotted a 2-2, will follow. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff May 23, :18 PM Dennis Seidenberg and Wade Redden participated in the Bruins' morning skate. It s unlikely that either defenseman, however, will make his series debut tonight. The other six defensemen took line rushes in their regular spots. Jaromir Jagr was the only player not to participate in the skate. Jagr took the ice for an optional practice Wednesday, so he was likely taking a rest this morning. Carl Soderberg took Jagr s spot on the second line for line rushes. For the Rangers, neither Brad Richards nor Arron Asham is expected to dress. Anton Stralman didn t skate this morning and is likely out. Ex- Canadien Roman Hamrlik could replace Stralman. Tonight s expected Bruins lineup: Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Jaromir Jagr Rich Peverley-Chris Kelly-Tyler Seguin Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton Zdeno Chara-Dougie Hamilton Matt Bartkowski-Johnny Boychuk Torey Krug-Adam McQuaid Tuukka Rask Anton Khudobin Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Game 4 preview: Bruins at Rangers By Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff NEW YORK Good morning from Madison Square Garden, where the Bruins will look to sweep the Rangers tonight. Game 5 is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at TD Garden, but the Bruins have no intentions of making that date. Dennis Seidenberg said after yesterday s practice that he s close to being ready to play. But given the 3-0 series lead and the play of the defense, it s unlikely the Bruins change the lineup tonight. On the other side, Anton Stralman didn t practice yesterday. The secondpairing defenseman might be out tonight. If so, former Boston University captain Matt Gilroy could make his series debut. Storylines: If the Bruins win tonight, they will cede their 2013 first-round pick to Dallas. It was a condition of the Jaromir Jagr trade. The second-round pick becomes a first-rounder if the Bruins qualify for the Eastern Conference Final Sure looks like a Boston-Pittsburgh matchup in the next round. The Penguins lead the Senators in the series, 3-1. Pittsburgh scored a 7-3 win last night. Game 5 is tomorrow in Pittsburgh Johnny Boychuk brings a two-game goal-scoring streak into tonight. Torey Krug had his twogame goal-scoring streak snapped on Tuesday The Rangers haven t scored a power-play goal in the series. They are 2 for 38 in the playoffs Stephen Walkom and Eric Furlatt will be the referees. Brian Murphy and Scott Cherrey will be the linesmen. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Bruins lineup likely to remain same Bruins lost focus and lost the game

By Kevin Paul Dupont Globe Staff May 24, 2013 NEW YORK What we have here is a failure to concentrate. Really, how else to describe it? The Bruins are headed to a Game 5 with the Rangers Saturday at TD Garden after certainly playing well enough much of Thursday night to end their second-round series with a sweep at Madison Square Garden. They just didn t think well enough. And now the price they ll pay is having to work at least a little bit longer if they re going to advance to the Stanley Cup semifinals. S loppy is the word I used, said Boston coach Claude Julien, who watched his club fall into a collective fog, blow leads of 2-0 and 3-2, and wind up 4-3 losers on a night when the Rangers never held a lead until Chris Kreider s winner at 7:03 of overtime. We weren t as crisp as we were in past games. Their undoing was a near-vaudevillian concoction of the comical (Tuukka Rask slipping on an imaginary banana peel), the lackadaisical (Zdeno Chara lazily swinging out with the puck at his own net), and the numerically challenged (a too many men on the ice call that led to the 3-3 goal). To make the night just a teeny bit more bizarre, the too many men call came from an officiating crew that included a linesman named Scott Cherrey. The most infamous too many men call in Boston history came with Don Cherry behind the Bruins bench. But history, immediate or distant, was not in play Thursday night inside the World s Most Famous Arena. Instead, it was the Bruins failure to deal with the present, to say focused, to close the deal. Trailing, 2-0, the Rangers were dead on Broadway in the second until Rask inexplicably, unbelievably slipped and dropped derriere-down just outside his crease midway through the second. Lost my balance, lamented Rask, noting that such things have happened to him before a couple of times, but only in practice. And the rest is history. Until then, the Rangers had only a half-dozen shots on net for more than 28 minutes. Their 2-0 deficit might as well have been But Rask fell, allowing a long backhand something (not really a shot) by Carl Hagelin to bang off Johnny Boychuk s stick and find its way into the Boston goal. The lead was down to 2-1 on a goal on which the stumblefooted Rask was really the best playmaker. Rask again was part of the play when the Rangers knotted it, 2-2, with 1:15 gone in the third. He left a puck behind his net for Chara, and the 6-foot-9- inch captain somewhat nonchalantly attempted to swing out from behind the left post (to Rask s right). The Trencin Tower of Power was unaware that Derek Stepan had closed from behind, allowing the alert centerman to filch the puck from Chara and tuck it by a startled Rask. Tuukka did his job there, said Julien. Z got stripped and the guy scored, that s all. Again, it s a mistake. That s OK. I mean, how many does [Chara] repair for us? That s fair. Even the likes of Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque made big booboos. It s the cost of doing business when you re asked to be the focal point of everything that happens south of your defensive blue line. Chara logged a game-high 31:52 of ice time in a game that last 67:03. He has essentially been assigned every other shift for The Duration. Given that rate, the greater surprise is that Chara doesn t commit more mistakes. The larger truth is, however, he needs running mate Dennis Seidenberg back on his right side to fill out the club s No. 1 shutdown pairing. The Rangers winner, by Boston homeboy Kreider, was a perfect example. Rick Nash slid a pass by Chara from the right wall, and it was a charging Kreider who redirected it by Rask from the slot. Rookie Dougie Hamilton, pressed into duty in Seidenberg s absence, failed to tie up the ex- BC Eagle. Pass, redirect, night over. Far too loose a play by Hamilton in that situation, on a night when the Bruins might have assured themselves upward of seven days off before their next game. Knew exactly what [Kreider] was going to do, said Hamilton. He got his stick in, and I didn t get my stick in there, too. The too many men call was somewhat of a footnote, but a costly one. It looked as if it was the outcome of Shawn Thornton signaling for a line change, then failing to come off the ice in the body swap. Again, poor concentration, attention to detail ignored. The Rangers were awarded the power play at 8:55 of the third, and with a little less than a minute left on the advantage, another Boston homeboy, Brian Boyle, snapped in a 20-footer, setting up the overtime, and eventually a Saturday date on Causeway Street. We were puck-watching on that one, said Julien. That s what allowed Boyle to get his shot away. Dating to the second round of the 2010 playoffs, when they had a 3-0 series lead on the Flyers, the Bruins are now 5-10 in closeout games. They still should win this series. The historic collapse vs. the Flyers was due, in large part, to losing David Krejci to hand surgery. Despite seeing their series lead drop to 3-1 here, they remain in stable health, albeit with the obvious need for Seidenberg to get back and sub in for Hamilton. No panic here, said Julien, noting that he was generally pleased with his team s effort, though not the result. If we had been outworked... but that s not the case. We didn t execute at times, but our work ethic was there. They will be back at it Saturday. Another chance to close out a series. A night when the Bruins should arrive well-schooled in the fact that one way to blow a good lead is to pair it with poor concentration. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Tyler Seguin s presence finally felt By Fluto Shinzawa Globe Staff May 24, 2013 NEW YORK At 8:06 of the third period Thursday night, Tyler Seguin finally scored his first goal of the playoffs. Less than two minutes later, Seguin was in the penalty box when the Rangers scored the tying goal. Peak, meet valley. The goal came two seconds after the Rangers had killed off a goalie interference penalty on Ryan McDonagh. Seguin and Dougie Hamilton played give-and-go. Hamilton sent a cross-crease return pass to Seguin. He does that a lot, Seguin said of Hamilton s clever feed. You look at some of the goals we ve scored over this year, even with [David Krejci] or with other guys, he s good at making that play. You ve just got to be ready. The right wing ripped a shot on goal that Henrik Lundqvist kicked out with his right pad. Seguin found his own rebound and snapped the puck past Lundqvist to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead. Seguin punched the glass behind the net to celebrate his goal. A little of a sigh of relief, Seguin said of scoring. Maybe even a confidence booster. It was nice to finally get one in. In 12:16 of ice time, the third-line right wing landed a team-high six shots on goal. But Seguin was also involved in a game-changing penalty that led to a power-play goal later in the third. The fourth line was on the ice. Seguin and his third-line mates were ready to take the next shift. Daniel Paille and Gregory Campbell went off the ice. Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley hopped over the boards. Shawn Thornton was the last fourth-liner on the ice. When Thornton skated toward the bench, Seguin rolled over the boards in anticipation of the change. But Thornton didn t make it to the bench in time. At 8:55, the Bruins were called for too many men on the ice. Seguin served the penalty.

On the following power play, Brian Boyle tied the game at 3-3. I think it was my fault, Seguin said. I saw Thorty coming. I hopped over, and I think he got hit. I haven t seen the replay. He stayed on for an extra second. I don t know exactly the ruling. Our centerman, whoever was out there, touched the puck, not me. I don t know if that s too many men, or if I touch the puck, it s too many men. Regardless, I think it was a close call. They made me pay for it. Changes possible Dennis Seidenberg and Wade Redden both sat out Game 4 after participating in the morning skate. Neither defensemen has played in the series, though both are inching closer. Of the two, Seidenberg would be the more welcome addition. Torey Krug has displaced Redden alongside Adam McQuaid. At 7:41 of the second period, Krug scored his third goal of the series. The Bruins were on the power play after fourth-line center Kris Newbury was called for goaltender interference after bowling over Tuukka Rask. After taking a pass from Seguin, Krug ripped a shot past Lundqvist to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead. If Seidenberg can play in Game 5, Hamilton could be the odd man out. Hamilton set up Seguin for his third-period goal. But Hamilton was on the ice for two of the Rangers four goals. Hamilton couldn t fend off Chris Kreider on the winning overtime sequence. If Seidenberg is ready, he could be reunited with Zdeno Chara. The other two tandems Matt Bartkowski with Johnny Boychuk, Krug with McQuaid would remain unchanged. One condition Despite the 4-3 overtime loss, the Bruins remain one win away from losing their 2013 first-round pick. The Bruins traded a conditional second-round pick to Dallas along with Lane MacDermid for Jaromir Jagr. The secondround pick would become a first-rounder if the Bruins qualified for the Eastern Conference finals. Itching to fight The Rangers tried to draw the Bruins into several fights. Derek Dorsett appeared to ask McQuaid to fight in the first. After the Bruins grabbed a 2-0 lead, Newbury tried to get Thornton to drop his gloves. In the second, Derick Brassard dropped his gloves and attempted to fight Brad Marchand after the pesky winger had thrown two heavy hits. The Bruins didn t oblige on any of the attempts... Nathan Horton scored a power-play goal at 4:39 of the second. Horton assisted on Krug s power-play goal. But Horton s linemates had a quiet night during five-on-five play. Milan Lucic didn t record a shot. Krejci had just one shot... Early in overtime, Boychuk flattened Dorsett with an open-ice check. It was Boychuk s best imitation of the locomotives that rumble through Penn Station under Madison Square Garden... Andrew Ference did not participate in Thursday s morning skate. Ference went through an off-ice workout while his teammates skated. Ference has yet to skate since suffering his lower-body injury on May Chara led all players with 31:52 of ice time. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins NESN, CSNNE compete for Bruins coverage By Chad Finn Globe Staff May 24, 2013 Ratings for the Bruins-Rangers Eastern Conference semifinal series on NBC Sports Network have been outstanding, with Game 3 drawing million viewers, making it the third-most-watched conference semifinal ever on NBCSN. In Boston, it earned a household rating, the highest ever for a semifinal game on the network in this market. The numbers are great. But entering Thursday night s Game 4, the suspense was lacking, with the Bruins holding a 3-0 lead. That s the main reason the game was bounced to CNBC, sandwiched between Mad Money and American Greed: The Wealth Builder Club, while the more compelling Red Wings-Blackhawks game got the prime spot on NBCSN. But while the Bruins series wasn t particularly competitive through three games, the competition among Boston s regional sports cable networks certainly was as they vied for viewers before and after NBCSN s game broadcasts. NESN, the home of the Bruins during the regular season and the first round of the playoffs, has been aggressive in trying to retain viewers even while burdened with the disadvantage of having its studio programming primarily on NESN Plus. A scroll runs across the screen during NESN s Red Sox telecasts reminding viewers of Bruins coverage on NESN Plus, and personalities such as Tom Caron and Dale Arnold have emphasized the Bruins programming via Twitter. Meanwhile, Comcast SportsNet New England has touted itself as the best Bruins pre- and postgame coverage in town, and studio host Michael Felger was quick to note after Game 3 that the NESN postgame show had signed off a few moments earlier. And CSNNE did own Nielsen bragging rights when it came to ratings after that game, earning a 1.6 in the 10:15-10:45 p.m. window, which more than doubled NESN Plus s 0.7. CSNNE also stayed on the air a half-hour longer, earning a 1.1 from 10:45-11:15. CSNNE also had higher ratings after Game 1, earning a 0.9 to NESN Plus s 0.2. The Games 1 and 3 postgame shows are the second- and third-highest rated in CSNNE history, after Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final two years ago. But NESN also deserves a significant benefit of the doubt, because when its postgame coverage was on NESN rather than NESN Plus following Game 2, its numbers were outstanding, earning a 3.2 to CSNNE s 0.3 in the 5:45-6:45 p.m. window. Much of the coverage that day was moved to NESN because the Red Sox game was in a rain delay. Some of the audience may have been tuning in to check on the Sox, but it s also apparent that the unfamiliarity of where to locate NESN Plus can be a hindrance. Overall, NESN has outrated CSNNE on average during the postgame programming (0.8 to 0.4). And the Game 2 boost from being in the Red Sox window on NESN helped it to a advantage through three postgames. Honest assessment The personality traits that made NBC Sports Group so eager to lure Michelle Beadle away from ESPN late last year and feature her as a core personality on upstart NBC Sports Network also must make the network honchos cringe from time to time. Four months after the debut of NBCSN s sports and pop culture program The Crossover, hosted by Beadle and former Channel 7 sports reporter Dave Briggs, the show, which has struggled to find an audience in its daily 6 p.m. time slot, has been revamped after a brief hiatus. Briggs, who wasn t a particularly popular figure among colleagues during his time in Boston ( ), is out, though he will remain at NBC. And Beadle, utilizing the snarky wit and matter-of-fact candor that made her such a popular personality in her previous gig co-hosting ESPN s SportsNation, didn t attempt to hide her satisfaction with the change during an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show Tuesday. When Patrick kidded that she kicked her co-host to the curb, she replied, matter-of-factly, Wow. Just wasn t working. When a relationship s not working, you change it. Patrick: So, this was a divorce? Beadle, deadpan: Sure. It was an arranged marriage to begin with. Patrick: Were there fights between you two? Beadle: We re not friends. That s fine. We don t need to be. We re very different human beings, and that was it. It wasn t a good pairing. I ve had good pairings and bad pairings. That Beadle could get along with SportsNation co-host Colin Cowherd, who only sporadically mixes in charm among his relentless trolling, for so many years suggests a high tolerance for imperfect co-hosts. Imaging is everything Some readers have noted that WEEI has recently changed its imaging voice the person whose name is usually unknown but who is responsible for many of the recorded promotions and station identifications and so on.

The new voice is Brian Lee, who may sound familiar he is the voice of NBC s Sunday Night Football. He replaced longtime imaging voice Jim Cutler, who parted ways with the station at the end of April. It should be noted that this isn t to be confused with the work of Pete Gustin, who is the voice of WEEI s creative bits... WEEI recently pursued the NFL Network s Albert Breer and CSNNE s Joe Haggerty, both of whom are frequent contributors to 98.5 The Sports Hub. It s uncertain what their roles would have been at WEEI, but both decided to remain at The Sports Hub... ESPN Boston s Field Yates will be part of a rotating cast of panelists on ESPN s new daily pro football program NFL Insiders. It s further indication that Yates, who also co-hosts ESPN s Fantasy Underground podcast and provides NFL content for ESPN Insider, has his share of supporters among ESPN s talent scouts. The show, which debuts Aug. 5, features Suzy Kolber, Adam Schefter, Bill Polian, and Chris Mortensen, among others. But what may be more notable is what it doesn t feature contributions from former players. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Chris Kreider keeps Rangers hopes alive By Nancy Marrapese-Burrell Globe Staff May 24, 2013 NEW YORK During his three seasons at Boston College, Chris Kreider was counted on to score goals. He was one of the key reasons the Eagles won the NCAA championship in 2010 and When he left after his junior season, he made a big splash with the Rangers, who selected him in the first round (No. 19 overall) in the 2009 draft. He was a standout in last year s postseason for the Blueshirts with five goals and two assists in 18 games, but this year has been more challenging for the Boxford, Mass., native. He spent a good deal of time in the American Hockey League with the Connecticut Whale and dealt with an ankle injury. But once he came back healthy, he kept working diligently and played a variety of roles. On Thursday, coach John Tortorella rewarded him with a promotion to the top line with right wing Rick Nash and center Derick Brassard for the pivotal Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinal. Kreider scored the winning goal at 7:03 of overtime to give the Rangers a 4-3 victory and keeps them alive for Saturday s Game 5. The Bruins lead, 3-1, as the series shifts back to Boston. It s so surreal, it s not something that can really be explained, said Kreider. It s just something that has to be felt. It was awesome and I was just excited to give these guys an opportunity to play another game. Right now, we re in a nothing-to-lose situation so we just take it one game at a time. The goal was Kreider s first in seven postseason games. Kreider credited Nash with the outstanding play. Nash, along the right boards, floated the puck through Zdeno Chara s legs and right onto the stick of Kreider, who was charging the net. Kreider directed it in past goaltender Tuukka Rask and the Madison Square Garden crowd erupted. It was an unbelievable pass, said Kreider. But that s what Rick does. I just try to get him the puck like I was trying to do most of the night and go to the net because chances are he s going to find you and put it there. He just laid it on my tape. I probably could ve closed my eyes and he probably would ve found my tape and somehow would ve managed to put it in the back of the net. It was just a great play by Rick. Brassard started by winning a faceoff in his own zone. Defenseman Ryan McDonagh moved it up to Kreider, who dished it to Nash and then charged up the left side of the ice. Nash gave it back to him and the celebrating began. Everyone wants to give the team an opportunity to play another game, said Kreider. I don t think that s different in the room at all. Everyone wants to contribute as much as they can. Everything about that play kind of sums up what we ve been talking about, worrying about the details, the little things of the game. That s been pivotal in every single game of this series. Derick wins a big draw and we were able to come out clean. McDonagh moved the puck to me and I was able to get it over to Nash. It was a complete team effort on that goal and obviously a huge effort by Rick. Kreider said there were times during the night when the Rangers felt as if Game 4 was theirs. Other times, the Bruins battled back. I think each team had their surges, said Kreider. I think it was a pretty even battle. Obviously, we re happy with the outcome. No one has seen the tape yet, so we ll have to go back and look at what we can improve on going into the next game. Until they turn their attention that way, though, Kreider said he would take a little time to enjoy the outcome. It was unbelievable, just pure jubilation, said Kreider. I m just happy we have the opportunity to play another game. It s one game at a time. I think we ve approached every single game the same way. We obviously just had different execution. It s all about preparing for the next game. Kreider said he doesn t ever question what line he is on. He just does the job the coaching staff asks of him. Coaches do stuff for a lot of different reasons, he said. I ve seen guys move down even though they re playing well. It s not something you worry about. You worry about your next shift and let them do their job. They re the best in the business at what they do. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Return of power play helps save Rangers By Nancy Marrapese-Burrell Globe Staff May 24, 2013 NEW YORK The Rangers went into Thursday s Game 4 with a couple of monkeys on their backs. No. 1, they were down, 3-0, in the Eastern Conference semifinals to the Bruins and they faced elimination. No. 2, the power play was abysmal, producing just two goals in 38 opportunities in their first 10 postseason contests. But Thursday brought relief on both fronts the Rangers won in overtime, 4-3, at Madison Square Garden, which forces a Game 5 on Saturday in Boston, and they scored a power-play goal that tied the game at 3-3 at the 10-minute mark of the third period. Rangers center Brian Boyle, a former Boston College standout, potted the man-advantage goal on a shot from the slot that beat Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask. It tied the game and that was good, said Boyle. It was a good pass by Derek [Stepan]. We can make plays, we ve got to have the confidence. I thought their unit did a really good job moving the puck around and getting some opportunities. Derek just makes a great feed, so it s there, I think, we just have to execute. We want to score on every power play. It s frustrating when you don t. You can t accept the fact that it s not working and say, OK, it s all right, we missed another opportunity. We need to be determined enough to go out and try to make a difference. Tonight, especially with Derek s unit, they did a great job. We need to do it. The games we lost, if we get a power-play goal, it s a different game obviously. Boyle was excited to see another former Eagle, Chris Kreider, get the overtime winner. He s been playing well and he s playing better and better, said Boyle. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to do well. He wants to be a big part of this team. That s a huge, huge goal. Decisions, decisions

Coach John Tortorella had a bee under his bonnet when it came to his decision to sit center Brad Richards. Richards, who has struggled, was a healthy scratch because Tortorella said he felt it wasn t fair to put him on the fourth line because his skills are wasted there, and others are playing better on the scoring lines, so he wasn t going to replace anybody there. But he stressed he isn t punishing Richards, and if anyone believes differently, they are flat-out wrong. By no means is this a situation where I take him out that I m blaming him, said Tortorella, who recorded his 19th postseason victory, passing Colin Campbell for third on the Rangers all-time coaching list. I m playing Brad on the fourth line, he s playing 7 or 8 minutes, it s not good for him. It doesn t work playing Brad Richards that way. But I also feel some other guys have played better, so that s where he is right now in our lineup. I can t put him in a situation otherwise because I think the other lines have stepped up. So he used a different fourth-line combination in Game 4 Micheal Haley, Kris Newbury and Derek Dorsett. Brad Richards is a hell of a hockey player, said Tortorella. He has had struggles here. It continues. Me putting him in that role doesn t help him. It s not blaming Brad Richards. He s a hell of a hockey player that s having a hell of a [tough] time. This is a Conn Smythe winner, this is a guy I ve grown up with [in Tampa Bay], a guy that I love as a person and a player, but I have to make that decision regarding this. Saving grace Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 37 saves to post his 30th career victory. He improved to 5-0 with an 0.98 against average, a.966 save percentage, and two shutouts in the last five playoff games at MSG in which the Rangers faced elimination. [The Bruins are] good but I am really happy with the way we responded the second half of this game, said Lundqvist. I told the guys before the game that there was no way we were losing this game, we want to keep playing. We owe it to ourselves, our fans. All our focus today was just on this game. It s going to be a challenge [in Game 5], no question, but I am really happy we got this one. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Rangers beat Bruins, 4-3, in OT, extend series By Fluto Shinzawa Globe Staff / May 23, 2013 NEW YORK At 7:03 of overtime Thursday night, former Boston College star Chris Kreider extended the Rangers season. After the Rangers won a defensive-zone faceoff, they raced away on the attack. Rick Nash fed Kreider going to the net. The Boxford, Mass., native tipped the puck past Tuukka Rask to give the Rangers a 4-3 win. Game 5 is Saturday at TD Garden. The Bruins had a pair of one-goal leads in the third period of Game 4. But the Rangers fought back both times to send the game into overtime tied at 3-3. The Bruins, up 2-1 in the third, saw their lead vanish after a weak play by Zdeno Chara. The captain went behind the net for a puck that Rask had settled. As Chara tried to start the breakout, Derek Stepan stripped him of the puck and jammed it into the net at 1:15. The Bruins pulled back ahead when Tyler Seguin scored a power-play goal at 8:06. But after the Bruins were nabbed for too many men, the Rangers punched back with a power-play goal. Brian Boyle snapped a shot from the slot past Rask at 10:00 to make it 3-3. After two periods, the Bruins led, 2-1. They scored two straight goals in the second period for a 2-0 lead, but a rare Rask flub led to New York s first goal. The Rangers scored after Derick Brassard chipped a puck ahead to Carl Hagelin. Johnny Boychuk was positioned between Hagelin and the goal. Hagelin flipped a backhander that deflected off Boychuk. As Rask tried to reposition himself to play the deflection, the goalie tumbled to the ice. Before Rask could put his paddle down on the ice to stop the puck, Hagelin s shot rolled over the line at 8:39. The goal gave the Rangers life to close out the second. They poured on the pressure, but Rask kept his net clear of any more offending pucks. Hagelin s fortunate goal took place less than a minute after the Bruins had doubled their lead with their second power-play strike of the night. At 6:04, Michael Del Zotto was sent off for interference. On the power play, Dougie Hamilton tried to hit Nathan Horton in front for a redirect past Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. The two didn t connect, but the Bruins gained control of the puck. Seguin picked the puck off the left wall and fed Torey Krug at the point. Before the Rangers could close down the shooting lane, Krug blasted the puck past Lundqvist at 7:41 to make it 2-0. It was Krug s third goal in four playoff games. The Bruins scored earlier in the second after an ill-advised penalty by Kris Newbury. The fourth-liner barreled over Rask and was called for goaltender interference at 3:09. On the power play, the No. 2 unit gained the zone. Horton tried to hit David Krejci in front. Del Zotto busted up the play, but the puck landed back on Horton s blade. Before Lundqvist could recover, Horton slipped a sharpangle shot between the goalie s pads at 4:39. On the following faceoff, Newbury tried to draw Shawn Thornton into a fight, but Thornton kept his gloves on. Later in the second, Brassard shed his mitts to get a piece of Brad Marchand. Marchand didn t oblige and play continued. As Brassard picked up his gloves and stick, Marchand curled into the slot for a scoring chance. Neither team scored in the first period. The Bruins held a 12-4 shot advantage after 20 minutes. The No. 2 line of Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and Jaromir Jagr had some good scoring chances in front of the net. On one sequence, Jagr carried the puck into the offensive zone and fed Marchand in front. Marchand had an open net, but he couldn t settle Jagr s dish. Both teams had power plays in the first. Rangers defenseman Roman Hamrlik, making his series debut, sent the puck into the stands at 1:43. The Bruins put four power-play pucks on Lundqvist. The Bruins didn t have a single power play in Game 3. The Bruins went on the penalty kill at 12:42 when Matt Bartkowski was caught for slashing Ryan Callahan. The New York captain appeared to throw a punch at Bartkowski s head before the slash. The Rangers, scoreless on the power play through the first three games, didn t get any good looks on Rask. The Rangers overhauled their lineup for Game 4. Hamrlik replaced defenseman Anton Stralman, who suffered an undisclosed injury in Game 3, and was with Steve Eminger on the No. 3 pairing. Up front, fourth-liners Brad Richards and Arron Asham were healthy scratches. Newbury and Micheal Haley, who had not dressed for the first three games, replaced Richards and Asham. Derek Dorsett, a third-line right wing for the first three games, was moved to the fourth line. Kreider moved up to the first line to play alongside Brassard and Nash. The only line that remained intact was the Rangers second unit of Callahan, Hagelin, and Derek Stepan. Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Tonight's Bruins lineup By Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff Based on pregame warmups:

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Jaromir Jagr Rich Peverley-Chris Kelly-Tyler Seguin Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton Zdeno Chara-Dougie Hamilton Matt Bartkowski-Johnny Boychuk Torey Krug-Adam McQuaid Tuukka Rask Anton Khudobin Boston Globe LOADED: Boston Bruins Game 4, final: Rangers 4, Bruins 3 (ot) Thursday, May 23, Mark R Murphy OVERTIME The Rangers aren't dead yet. The Bruins certainly had New York on the ropes, but the series will return to Boston after the Rangers pulled out a 4-3 overtime win in tonight's Game 4. Game 5 is Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Garden. The game-winner was scored by Boxford native Chris Kreider on a pass from Rick Nash. The Rangers won a faceoff in their own zone and quickly broke out, with Rick Nash skating down the right side. He found a cutting Kreider with a perfect pass a stride ahead of Dougie Hamilton. Kreider lifted the puck over Tuukka Rask inside the left post. THIRD PERIOD The Bruins and Rangers are headed to overtime with the score tied at 3. There's plenty on the line, as a Bruins goal will send them to the Eastern Conference finals, while a Rangers goal will send the series back to Boston for Game 5 on Saturday. The B's certainly could use a few minutes to regroup after twice squandering 1-goal leads in the third period. At the end of the third, it seemed like the Bruins were simply trying to survive and reach overtime. Now that they've done so, we'll see if they come out more aggressive in overtime. Momentum has been fickle in this game. Everything appeared to be going New York's way until Ryan McDonagh was called for goalie interference with 13:56 remaining. As the ensuing power play expired, Tyler Seguin banged in his own rebound to give the B's a 3-2 lead with 11:54 left. Seguin and Dougie Hamilton worked a pretty give-and-go to set up Seguin's first shot, but Henrik Lundqvist made a pad save. The puck went right to Seguin skating in on the left side and he found the back of the net, punctuating the goal by slamming the glass behind the net. The Rangers wasted little time scoring the equalizer. After the B's were penalized for having too many men on the ice, the Rangers power play finally converted. Derek Stepan made a nice pass to Brian Boyle, who was cutting down the middle wide open. Boyle flipped a wrist shot past Tuukka Rask's blocker to tie it at 3 with 10 minutes remaining. The Rangers tied the game at 2 in a most unexpected manner, as Zdeno Chara was guilty of being careless. Tuukka Rask came out of the net to play a puck behind the net, but gave way for Chara. The B's defense skated around the left post with little urgency, and New York's Derek Stepan stripped the puck and converted a wraparound before Rask had slid back into position. It's 2-2 with 18:45 remaining, and the level of intensity is picking up on both ends. SECOND PERIOD After a relatively uneventful first period, things picked up in a wild second. The Bruins scored a pair of goals against Henrik Lundqvist, and both came on fairly straightforward shots. Nathan Horton scored the B's first goal from the left circle on a shot that squeezed through Lundqvist's five-hole. The Bruins went ahead 2-0 when Torey Krug scored his third goal of the playoffs on a slap shot from the blue line that Lundqvist seemed to misjudge or lose in a screen by his own player. The Rangers were basically on life support, but got revived on an incredibly fluky goal by Carl Hagelin. Tuukka Rask lost his balance and wound up on his backside as Hagelin's seemingly harmless flip tricked toward the net. Rask missed when he swiped his stick at the puck and it trickled across the goal line. That got the crowd back into the game and Lundqvist fired fans up more with a great save on a blast from Brad Marchand. Fittingly, the Rangers lost their momentum after Jaromir Jagr was sent to the penalty box for holding with 6:32 remaining in the period. New York's struggles continued with a man-advantage -- they're 2-for-40 in the playoffs. There was one last head-scratching moment late in the period when Derick Brassard dropped the gloves in response to a hit by Marchand. It was a questionable decision considering the puck was in New York's zone and Brassard isn't much of a fighter. Marchand ignored Brassard and skated to the middle where he was able to get open, but couldn't convert. Brassard quickly put his gloves back on and picked up his stick, lucky not to have cost his team dearly. The Bruins appeared to take control when Torey Krug gave them a 2-0 lead with a blistering slap shot from the point with 12:19 remaining in the second period. Krug took a pass from Tyler Seguin and let it rip from the blue line, and Henrik Lundqvist was unable to make the glove save. Just as the air had been let out of the building, the Rangers got life on one of the lucky bounces they've been waiting for all series. Carl Hagelin was skating into the B's zone and flipped an innocent backhander toward the goal that deflected off of Johnny Boychuk's stick. Tuukka Rask simply lost his balance and flailed helplessly with his stick as the puck trickled into the net to cut the B's lead to 2-1 with 11:21 left in the second period. After controlling the action, the Bruins broke through with the game's first goal with 15:21 remaining in the second period. The Bruins were on the power play thanks to a foolish penalty by Kris Newbury, who crashed into Tuukka Rask while crashing the net. He earned a two-minute penalty for goalie interference and the B's capitalized. Nathan Horton scored his fifth goal of the playoffs by shooting the puck through Henrik Lundqvist's fivehole. Horton had tried to find David Krejci in front, but the pass was deflected back to him in the left circle and he ripped the shot. FIRST PERIOD The Bruins and Rangers just finished 20 minutes of scoreless hockey. For all of the Rangers talk of desperation, they didn't produce a particularly spirited effort in the first period. The Madison Square Garden is full of angst, with feelings seemingly mixed between cheering on the home team and waiting to boo them when things go wrong. The Bruins controlled the action and held a 12-4 advantage in shots, but neither side generated serious scoring threats. It didn't take long for the Bruins to get their first power play chance, as New York's Roman Hamrlik received a delay of game penalty for sending the puck into the crowd 1:43 into the game. The Bruins power-play wasn't crisp and the Rangers were able to keep them off the board. The Rangers got their lone man-advantage with 7:18 remaining in the period when Matt Bartkowski was whistled for slashing Ryan Callahan. The Rangers power play continues to struggle, and now has just two goals on 39 opportunities this postseason. Johnny Boychuk blocked a blast to squelch New York's best chance during the power play. PREGAME Faced with a 3-0 deficit, Rangers coach John Tortorella changed his lineup for tonight's Game 4 in hopes of finding a combination that can deliver a victory. The biggest move was scratching alternate captain Brad Richards, who was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy after leading Tortorella's Tampa Bay Lightning to the 2004 Stanley Cup. Richards signed a nine-year, $60 million contract with the Rangers before last season but has failed to deliver in the playoffs. Richards had just one goal and zero assists in 10 games this posteason, and had been demoted to the fourth line recently. Additionally, right winger Arron Asham was a healthy scratch and top-four defenseman Anton Stralman is out with an injury suffered in Game 3. Tortorella turned to forwards Kris Newbury and Michael Haley to take the place of Richards and Asham. Roman Hamrlik gets the nod in place of Stralman.
