GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2017/18 GENERAL TERM: I hope to continue to be involved in and on stragegies to implement the long term sustainability of the club. We need to refine and manage our membership growth There is a need to create and better balance in our membership deliverables between sailing and non-sailing members The long term tenancy of our site is continually under threat and we need to position ourselves as the leading yacht club, and support others also to benefit the sport of yachting in Auckland. The RNZYS need to help facilitate and engage in international events to maintain that leading profile. We need to create a better sustainability ledger that allows more member accessibility. 2

I have also crewed offshore and owned and cruised a number of launches. RELEVANT INCLUDING : After 36 years in the corporate environment including 14 years senior executive experience, I currently serve on the Boards of a number of businesses. Past President of Auckland Rotary, I am a Chartered Member of the NZ Institute of Directors. A member of RNZYS since the age of 10, I have served 4 years on the General Committee, the last two as Chairman of the House. : Sailing, Cruising, Motor Yacht, Youth Training, Kawau, Finance, Major Projects & Assets. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2017/18 GENERAL TERM: Being part of RNZYS General Committee gives me the opportunity to give back to the club/contribute to making RNZYS the best it can be. I would like to see RNZYS provide more for members and the wider boating community increasing both the viability and the vibrancy of the club through - 1. Securing our future at Westhaven 2. Yacht racing, cruising and on the water programmes at a variety of levels 3. Social programme both on & off the water that bring members together 4. Utilisation and development of our Kawau Island facilities to benefit members 5. Youth and new sailor development 6. Ensuring the long-term viability of the club for current & future members 4

Owner/ Director of an engineering consultancy with 25 employees. Motor yacht, Kawau and House GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL I have enjoyed making a positive contribution to the continuing improvements that the Squadron is making. The America s Cup will give us the chance to build on this and continue to grow the health of the Squadron and the benefits that we can offer our Members. Working on the future plans for the Squadron facilities at Kawau has been particularly satisfying, and we are now in the position to take this to the next stage. Getting a positive outcome from all of the planning will be one of my key areas to focus on for the next year. I am on the Committee that is planning the 150th celebrations, and for 2021 we also have lots of ideas and next year we need to start making them happen. The next 5 years will be an exciting time for the Squadron and I look forward to making my contribution. 5

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL Grow youth and adult participation and engagement with the Club via training, social events on and off the water as well as our programme of racing and cruising. Demonstrate and increase the Club s value to Members through communications, events and advocating for 6

Many years of fulltime work specialising in General Practice Nursing, I continue to work part-time and I am a Director of Gulfwind Sailing Academy. Sailing, Cruising, Kawau, House/Membership GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL After years of sailing participation, continue to contribute. Support and promote young people and family participation - they are the future. Facilitate new members to realise the importance of friendships and contacts formed in the club enabling a network of people they otherwise may not have met. While respecting and valuing the rich history, continue to advance the club forward as we enjoy our sport for life. Maximise the opportunities we now have as custodians of the America s Cup along with the sesquicentennial celebrations to promote the RNZYS. 7

Owned a half share in Buccaneer 550 Esprite powerboat from Experienced sales and marketing, and general management professional with broad and diverse background in the retail sector. Skilled in pricing and promo management, negotiation, budgeting, business and market planning. Passionate about the application of technology to improve complex and inefficient processes. Currently Commercial Director and co-founder of Rocket Retail Technologies specialising in price and promotion management software as a service. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL I have been an active member as a customer of the club since 2012 and feel that given the volume, scale and importance of the activities coming up in the next few years, that it is now my turn to put my shoulder to the wheel. The areas where I can contribute the most revolve around my own skills/experiences and observations of club operations. 1. Help to ensure the communication technology and messaging maximises the effectiveness within resource constraints 2. Understand the constraints vs opportunities in the race program to support the race office in delivering to the sailing members 3. Explore and support opportunities to enhance retailing and sponsorship at the club 4. Understand the strategic plan around property help with networking and lobbying external parties to ensure the RNZYS retains and enhances its current site. 5. Help to market and develop youth and adult training to provide income and a growing source of new sailors and members 8

I own the launch Affinity and the yacht Bird on the Wing which I regularly race. I also have an interest in the classic Rawhiti. I have a commercial background of 37 years. I established my company as an importer in the early 80 s and progressed into specialised printing. I am now involved in commercial properties and have consulting roles. Cruising, Motor Yacht, Sailing, 150th Anniversary, House & Membership GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL During my time on the General Committee I have enjoyed making a positive contribution and have developed a far greater appreciation of the Squadron s and members requirements. I am proud of our tradition and the values we hold, as we head towards our 150 year celebrations in In addition, I believe in our growth of new members, especially in getting the next generation involved along with our Learn to Sail. It is an exciting time and I would like to continue encouraging and supporting the activities we have ahead of us. The combination of my time, background in both boating and business, allows me to support the Squadron in order to achieve our goals on and off the water that we are committed to. 9

My first experience was learning to sail an optimist at the age of 9 in Okahu Bay, Orakei. Nowadays I part take in Rum races, over night cruising and the coastal classics. My business experience started off at the young age of 12 selling Christmas trees in Remuera. I have also just recently graduated from the University of Technology with a business degree in Advertising & Maori Development. Cruising, Youth Training, House / Membership, Learn to Sail, Youth Members GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL I have been thoroughly enjoying my time contributing to the House, Membership and Kawau Committee over the last year. I do believe that we have a unique opportunity to capitalise on the ongoing success of Team New Zealand and the emerging interest in the yachting and boating in general. It is my view that a millennial perspective is crucial to not only giving adequate representation of the Youth Membership but ensure it s ongoing success. 10

Forty years experience in the construction industry, with over twenty years as General Manager at Scarbro Construction. Sailing, Youth Training, House/Membership, Finance, Major Projects & Assets GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL To assist the club with the development of it s long term strategies, in particular regarding it s property and other assets. To support the youth development and learn to sail programmes the club offers so we continue to increase participation and opportunity for as many people as possible to enjoy and experience our sport. To assist the club in areas of Governance and Strategic Planning and help with ensuring the club continues to be the success that it is for future generations. To help increase participation opportunities at the club for our increasing and varied range of members. 11

Cruising locally and offshore to Tonga and Fiji. I am a lawyer with 21 years experience. I have worked in large law firms, corporates and as a Legal Adviser in the 2007 America's Cup. I have recently commenced a general practice in Albany under the name Whitlock Williams. I specialise in business and property law. Sailing, Cruising, Youth Training, Kawau, House/Membership, Finance, Major Projects & Assets GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL We have a great yacht club with many opportunities. Fundamentally though, we need to ensure that we retain and enhance our value proposition to members. Key focus points are: Creating great club events that members want to participate in, both on and off the water Welcoming family participation in events Being a responsible environmental citizen in the marine environment that we love Long-term sustainability Collegiality, inclusion and participation 12

Thirty-five years in the international shipping industry with postings in Australia, Japan, Singapore and the U.S.A. For the 2017/18 Volvo Ocean Race I was Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Auckland Stop over, a position I also held for the 2014/15 edition, having also been a member of that Committee for the 2011/12 event. I also served as the interim General Manager for the Squadron on a volunteer basis in In 2017 I was a member of the Steering Committee for the Volunteer initiative. I am a regular participant in Race Management, Custodian of the America's Cup, and a member of the AC sub-committee. Sailing, Race Management, Boat Management, Sponsorship GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL Ensure the high standard of governance is maintained together with improved profitability. Ensure that the reputation as New Zealand's #1 Yacht Club continues through hosting events like the AC and future Volvo Ocean Race Stopovers and other similar events, whilst maintaining focus on the Squadrons current sailing programme. Ensure that the Squadron's fleet of Committee and patrol boats is maintained to a high standard, and is sufficient to cater for future events such as the AC in Ensure that services to members is improved upon. 13

I completed the Fiji Race in 2011 and 2013 on Vision. This was my introduction to racing and I now have fun club racing and cruising whenever I get the chance to crew. General Manager at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise responsible for core operations across 50 offices globally. Extensive general management and international business experience. Sailing, House/Membership, Finance, Major Projects and Assets GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE 2018/19 GENERAL I have learnt a lot about the Club during my first year on the Committee and I am excited about the growing membership and future direction. I believe we can continue to improve the Membership experience by creating a vibrant and welcoming Club that fosters a sense of community and delivers fun experiences on and off the water that people want to be a part of. I am a keen supporter of our Youth Committee and want us to continue to focus on attracting and retaining youth Members. I also want us to keep our eye to the future, so the Club continues to thrive for another 100 years. 14
