However, as a preview I would like to present you the CNB 43, one of the projects which has been very dear to us in terms of the CNB entry into the world of motor-powered superyachts.

1 newsletter 18 Editorial Here at the beginning of January, on behalf of all of us at CNB I would like to send you our most sincere best wishes for Great prosperity to one and all! Although CNB might be among the most fortunate, with a CNB 77 and a 28 metre motor-powered catamaran under construction. The delicate period which we all had just gone through seems to be coming to an end. The upper end of the pleasure boating market appears to be waking up once again and some superb projects are on the horizon. I will most certainly have the pleasure of announcing the details soon. However, as a preview I would like to present you the CNB 43, one of the projects which has been very dear to us in terms of the CNB entry into the world of motor-powered superyachts. A vessel for yachtsmen, designed by German Frers, who is well aware of what makes an efficient hull (also important for energy saving!), with an interior created by the now famous architecture and design studio Wetzel Brown Partners, the very same who won all of the honours last autumn. Talking of prizes(!) I cannot resist from the temptation of reminding you of those won by the CNB 100 Chrisco : ShowBoats International: Newcomer interior design Award to Wetzel Brown Partners. International Superyacht Society: Best sailboat 24m to 40 m Award and Best Interior - Power and Sail Award After Only Now in 2002 and Hamilton II in 2005 we can afford to be really proud of Chrisco following in the wake of its CNB predecessors! But let s stay modest; the most important thing is that Chrisco and its owner travelled from Bordeaux to Porto-Cervo, Saint-Barthelemy, New-York and back, more than 18,000 nautical miles in 15 months. This record has been matched by the CNB 86 Spiip (designed by Philippe Briand, interior design by Jean- Marc Piaton) which we present to you in detail here and has just finished a 20,000 nautical mile voyage in 18 months, from Bordeaux to Scotland, the Red Sea and the Riviera (with a Giraglia!). The vessel is now headed for the Virgin Islands and the St Barths Bucket before arriving in Polynesia as from the month of June; real proof of the design and build quality of our boats. A generous 4,000 m² upwind sail area is the guarantee of performance in light airs. Comfort In the boat centre, the deck saloon is bright and designed to ensure a perfect vision outside. The aft area is for the owner s suite and would not be disappointing in a 30 m boat. Two Guest cabins are on each side of the deck saloon. The crew area is in the fore part with a long galley behind the mast. Thanks to the telescopic keel, the draft can be reduced to 2 metres. Elegance We have made a special point of giving harmony to the imposing proportions of the boat. The freeboard is reasonably high and the sheer line is positioned aft. Last but not least, the coachhouse with its long windows is typical of our most recent designs.

The clearly apparent squirrel mascot originates from this desire to consider that Spiip should be a wonderful sailing machine offering great pleasure. The hull colour of Spiip in itself proceeds from a rather bold choice with its vivid blue we have called Mediterranean blue. The deck and mast were processed in very light grey to avoid being blinded by the superstructures in the sun. The teak deck joints were processed in grey to merge into the wood colour and give its surface a simple, quietening aspect. Inside, the colour of the saloon shows the same sun-yellow as the cockpit to have a unique look between these living spaces; The cabins and the bathrooms as well, were each given a warm specific holiday colour: pink, melon yellow, yellow, fuchsia and turquoise. The bulkheads were treated with the same principle: Out of four panels, one is made of Oakwood, two are white and the inner planking is coloured. On one hand, the sheets, towels, bath robes are the same colours as each cabin. On the other hand, the bath towels that may be taken on the deck are two-coloured: yellow or blue bath towels are white trimmed. These colour groups can also be found in the breakfast crockery: while there are sets of mugs and coffee cups matching the colours of each cabin. The rest of the boat s crockery is bi-coloured: plain yellow and plain pearl grey. The furniture, like the ceiling assembly design, was processed with taut, structured styles lines that can be found all over the boat. Some notable details that are original in their design: The layout of the starboard armchairs that have been fitted in and designed so as to let passengers sit back without having to move at each tacking. A seat, especially designed for the owner s wife who is fond of reading was conceived in the cockpit near the saloon door. The cockpit tables are folding and slightly shallow and can be unfolded at anchor to be turned into smooth natural Oakwood trays Mediterranean, lively personal plan full of colours 1 - The dining room on port side, the lounge with a games table on starboard. 2 - A double cabin. 3 - The master cabin.

Artistry, technology and visual harmony are the key ingredients which define Frers approach to the naval architecture of the CNB 43. A high performance hull with security and comfort in mind - light displacement, long, slender, low drag and low wind resistance wave piercing hull. There is no permanent access from the yacht to the sea - the gangway, swimming platform and side boarding ladder are crew controlled when required. The interior accommodation offers all the options normally found on a three deck vessel. A main deck with a unique interior - exterior spaces through large opening port and starboard terraces to create a lounge, formal dining, bar and sun protected alfresco dining space aft connected to the vibrancy of the swimming platform. Forward, the owner suite connects directly to a private owner s party lounge and dining with retractable awning, accessible to tender bay which can double as a swimming pool. The lower deck has four similar double guest suites. There is direct access on this level through a viewing gallery in the engine room to the gym and swimming platform aft. Flybridge an integrated open space that follows the lines of the yacht and directly connected to the navigation station. A pleasurable environment to enjoy the sun during the day and the stars at night. In the Mediterranean, Corsica and Sardinia, the CNB 77 Swallows & Amazon can be hired out in tandem with its sister ship Amazon Creek (two cabin version launched in 2010) for large families or groups. This gives accommodation for 12 persons in 6 double cabins and the pleasure of challenging each other under sail!
