This work is being undertaken in support of the development of The Crown Estate Round 3 Zone 1 offshore wind licensing on the outer Moray Firth off the East coast of Scotland. The Works Phase 1 of the installation of instrumentation is now complete. Phase 2 of the installation works and any additional restoration work is currently being evaluated and notice of works will be given in due course. 4 Area 3 Seabed Activity First Published: 18 June 2015 Latest Update: 18 June 2015 Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm Installation of rock filter layers As a part of the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm Project, rock placement works will be undertaken to protect the monopile foundations from scour. The first Stage of the works which will take place in summer 2015 will consist of the placement of a rock filter layer at all (67) wind turbine locations, prior to installation of monopiles in The works are scheduled to take place from 1st July 2015 to 30th September The rock placement vessel will loadout the rocks from the Stavanger Area in Norway and the vessel will make this transit frequently to reload rocks. GeoSea will be carrying out the Turbine installation, commencing from about the 15th June 2015 and is estimated will continue until the end of August, weather permitting. Bohlen-doyen have commenced the inter-array and export cable laying works and it is estimated to continue until the end of June, weather permitting. The Vessels The array cable laying works is by the barge Nostag 10 supported by the tugs Torsten and Barney. The export cable and mattress laying is by the barge BoDo Installer supported by the tug Bommel. The crew boats servicing the Kentish Flats Extension project are the Vulcan, Valkyrie, Valhalla and the MPI Rucio. 5 Area 3 Seabed Activity First Published: 11 September 2014 Latest Update: 16 June 2015 London Array Wind Farm Cable Crossings. Three special marks and a South Cardinal Mark have been installed to mark the four rock berms on the crossing of the Kentish Flats and London Array Export cable. At these crossings the typical sea bed level was -4m LAT. Due to the newly installed rock beam the depth in some areas is now -1.0m LAT. Kentish Flats/London array cable crossings have marker buoys at the following locations: N E (KFSM1) N E (KFSM3) N E (KFSM2) N E (KFSM4) Rock Berm BritNed cable crossing ( N, E) the seabed level varies from -6.5m LAT to -9m LAT. 7 Area 3 Seabed Activity First Published: 21 May 2015 Latest Update: 21 May 2015 Skinningrove Coastal Protection Works The first anticipated load has now been confirmed as on or around the 15th May There will be two deliveries made by the vessels Fluvius Taw and Visnes with the Charlie Rock barge undertaking the unloading. Both vessels will anchor within the transhipment box for unloading. It is anticipated that works will be continuous from this date for approximately 3 weeks duration. It is the intention of Stema Shipping to mark the transit corridor with yellow buoys for the purpose of local fishing vessels. The Works Rock armouring will be transhipped from an offshore vessel/barge (Fluvius Taw/ Visnes or similar) which will be anchored within the area defined by the following coordinates. Approx Position: N W The vessel will predominantly be connected to a 6 leg anchor pattern and all vessels are asked to give a wide berth of a recommended 1000m to avoid any clash with anchor patterns and surface buoys. This programme is expected to last until late July and WIELINGEN will be based in Barrow for re-fuelling and loading. All mariners, and especially fishermen, are requested to give a wide berth to WIELINGEN whenever this vessel is in transit and a 500 meter safety exclusion zone will be in force around each Turbine where WIELINGEN is working. Deployment DONG energy intend to deploy a FLiDAR Buoy within the proposed Walney Extension Wind Farm Site shortly after the Easter period. The FLiDAR Buoy will be deployed in position: N W (Depth 23.9m (LAT)). The Buoy will remain at this location for approx. 50 days before being re-sited to a position at the NW corner of the West of Duddon Sands Wind Farm close by the Met Mast, when a new notice will be issued, in position: N W. 10 Area 5 Seabed Activity First Published: 19 November 2013 Latest Update: 20 April 2015 Robin Rigg Offshore Wind Farm The High Voltage Outage at the ROBIN RIGG WIND FARM has been corrected but the Navigation Lights on three Turbines situated at the Western Section of the Wind Farm are not working. The Navigation lights affected are on Turbines RR-K01 : RR-G01 and RR-J06 Replacement Navigations Lights have been sourced and the intention is to have them fitted by the end of the month, weather and conditions permitting. All mariners are requested and advised to exercise caution when navigating in the vicinity of ROBIN RIGG, additional updates will be issued as soon as further information is available.
