16 Deckvest Elements Your Lifejacket Explained Deckvest Inflation Systems UML Inflation System Deckvest Pro Sensor and Deckvest Lite The UML Pro Sensor is activated by contact with water. A compressed paper element dissolves to release a sprung needle which pierces the gas cylinder. Sea, spray or rain water running down through the unit should not cause activation. Only water flowing upwards will activate firing. Advantages Very reliable activation system when immersed Easy to check and re-arm at sea Easy to convert to manual firing only Hammar MA1 Inflation System Deckvest Hammar 170N The Hammar system is activated by water pressure and will not inflate until the cap is approximately 10cm underwater.
