2 DENMARK S VERY FIRST UNDER-WATER-PATH Can you actually walk under water? Yes - you can at Camp Hverringe. On our fascinating nature path the trail is marked out, and everyone can join in. It is fun and educational, and completely without danger. ONCE UPON A TIME... FOUR YEARS AGO Four years ago we opened Denmark s very first path under the water at Camp Hverringe - here everyone can have fun and educational experiences under the water - either by a guided tour or on their own within a large marked area. It became a great success with children and adults, who would like to go on adventures with diver s mask and snorkel. (Upon request we have everything in diver s gear). What is an under-water-path? The path will lead you on to a floor of sand, a field of eel-grass, mussel banks and through woods of sea-weed. Signs will encourage people to look for certain details such as tips on how to locate a well camouflaged flat-fish hiding under the surface of the sand, or a pipefish standing vertical in the water, imitating eel-grass. The shorthorn-sculpin, which is lying completely still, looking like a rock, is almost impossible to find. We are visitors in the fishes world and are fascinated by their way to move and ability to camouflage themselves... Suddenly you see a sunken ship - often a huge crab hides underneath the anchor. The path ends by the giant seal stone and you just might see the castle of the King of the Seas..? Posts and items to touch On your way you will see different posts with things you will be able to touch, such as a whale scull, which you can pick up from the sea floor and examine... under the water using your diver s goggles. As you might have figured, the path is currently lacking benches and tables. Those, however, we do have on land. After the trip on the under-waterpath has finished, you are all welcome to jump back into the water and examine everything beyond the path. However, do remember always to dive with someone else and never alone! The path under the water is a sure hit for a fun and different way to spend the day with the family. 3 EXPERIENCES YOU WILL NEVER FORGET A TRIP UNDER THE WATER - PARTICULARLY FOR BEGINNERS Perhaps you and your family feel like giving diving a try or maybe snorkeling; then we have plenty of time and some great offers: Fishing and fun at the beach - we will be taking a swim. A trial dive - on shallow water with an instructor. Snorkeling for everyone. Diver s course - become a certified PADI-diver. Workshop - two days with activites by the ocean. DESCRIPTIONS OF THE LOCALITIES At Diver s Resort Camp Hverringe we have developed descriptions of the localities stating difficulty level, which provides opportunities for great and exciting adventures for both beginners and more practiced divers. The descriptions include recommendations of exciting reefs and conditions of sea floors as well as information on what you can expect to see on your way. 4 AMONG MERMAIDS - FOR BEGINNERS Since the beginning of time sailors have told tales of the supernatural beings of the ocean, beautiful mermaids and creepy sea snakes. Marine biologist and nature guide, Soeren Larsen, takes us to the ocean surrounding Romsoe, dives, takes animals up into the boat and tells us about the varied life under the surface. Also about the sea snakes! WRECKS AND HUNTING UNDER WATER - FOR THE PRACTICED DIVERS Feel like a nature experience out of the ordinary? Then come on a professionel diver s guide tour and enjoy the wildlife in Storebaelt or some of the many ship wrecks. Feel like shooting fish with a harpoon? Then come on a trip along the coast of Fyns Hoved and look forward to flounders, grey mullets and other delicious species. If you do not have your own fishing equipment, you may lease it from us. 5 Welcome TO A HOLIDAY UNDERNEATH THE SURFACE For some the ocean is a concealed world, but for divers it is a place with plenty of experiences to offer. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver then look forward to Camp Hverringe s Diver s Resort, where everyone can experience life under the surface, even if you wish to enjoy life with your diver friends or would like to learn to dive or snorkel for the first time. Here is something for both children and adults... The Camp Hverringe Diver s Resort is a perfect opportunity for everyone who enjoys diving and experience great things under the water - for beginners as well as experienced divers. The resort is located at the grounds of Camp Hverringe at Hindsholm. An area with beautiful varied and unique nature. There are plenty of opportunities to go touring just outside your cabin, tent or caravan - along the eastern coast in the northern part of Storebaelt all the way up to Romsoe. Five star camping by the ocean Camp Hverringe is one of the few five star camping sites in Denmark with deluxe amenities for both children and adults. We call it camp life the five star way with beach and woods combined with unique opportunities for diving in some of the most unaffected under-water-nature in Denmark, which makes the area perfect for family trips, group trips etc. Learning the fun way If you wish to go home with something, then the first under-water-path in Denmark could be an introduction to the world below the water surface, the area itself and an ideal family activity. Some of the most qualified marine experts in Denmark are affiliated to the resort and have developed descriptions of the localities, unique video recordings of life under the surface which should help ensure that your needs are being met. In collaboration with Fyns Dykkercenter (Diver s Center of Fynen) we offer everything from diver s courses to exciting guided tours, diving by ship wrecks and under-water-hunting. Along the coast and by Romsoe there are several unique snorkel localities such as reefs and woods of sea-weed. The area is very varied. The more experienced divers will be able to dive even deeper, see ship wrecks and dive at night. There are activities such as guided tours in groups, courses and workshops. The resort has boat ramps for private boats, and we also rent out boats. With marine biologist, Søren Larsen, and diving instructor Morten Morsø from Fyns Dykkercenter, as course managers, you will be in great company and be sure to get plenty of experiences home with you.

This is the time where we open the under-water-path and we will be there to help you with descriptions of the localities. Summer holiday In the school holiday, when the family is on vacation, our focus is on creating some exciting activities for the entire family. There is something for everyone: Fishing and fun on the beach, snorkeling for everyone, diver s courses and guided diving tours. Late summer In August we have some exciting activites for both beginners and experienced divers.
