3 Upgrade Package 1 for Avance Contains new high performance display, 6.2 software and PCV-VG software Package Includes: M , HPDU, PCV-VG M , Avance overlay screen M , 6.2 software The High Performance Display Unit (HPDU) provides a new platform on which to build the next generation of software features into the Avance providing more speed and processing capability. Provides customers with Pressure Control Volume Guarantee mode ventilation, apnea alarm button, spontaneous breath indicator, timer, PAW gauge, and all the other great features of Avance 5.0 software. Bring advanced ventilation capabilities in the Operating Room (OR) with PCV-VG. Offers our installed base of Avance customers a great deal on an upgrade path to continuing versions of software. Without this upgrade, 3.3 software is as far as customers can go. Upgrade Package 2 for Avance Contains new high performance display, 6.2 software Package Includes: S, HPDU M , Avance overlay screen M , 6.2 software The HPDU provides a new platform on which to build the next generation of software features into the Avance providing more speed and processing capability. Provides customers apnea alarm button, spontaneous breath indicator, timer, PAW gauge, and all the other great features of the newest software. Offers our installed base of Avance customers a great deal on an upgrade path to continuing versions of software. Without this upgrade, 3.3 software is as far as customers can go. 3

All Avance 3.3 software or earlier must be upgraded to 6.2 or greater software. This will require a High Performance Display Unit (HPDU), as well as software.

4 Ventilation modes upgrade VCV cardiac bypass mode in mechanical ventilation A cardiac bypass mode with VCV has been added. Starting with settings of 170 ml, the mechanical ventilation of the lung is continued during bypass to increase the level of moisture in the lung. This may help promote better patient recovery. All Avance 3.3 software or earlier must be upgraded to 6.2 or greater software. This will require a High Performance Display Unit (HPDU), as well as software. Pressure Control Volume guarantee ventilation mode The PCV-VG mode delivers all the benefits of PCV while providing a consistent tidal volume to the patient. PCV can help prevent overpressure of the lungs, while helping to avoid alveoli collapse. Supports the filling of even the stiff alveoli early in the inspiratory cycle, giving the maximum time for gas exchange. This may result in in better oxygenation at lower peak airway pressures. Pressure Support Ventilation with apnea backup With the increase use of Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA), PSV Pro allows patients to breathe spontaneously while reducing the patient s work of breathing by applying an inspiratory pressure to the airway on patient initiated breath. This can help counter the reduction in functional residual capacity as well as the decrease in muscle contraction produced when anesthetics are used. In supporting a patient s spontaneous breathing, PSV Pro provides for sustained or enhanced tidal volumes, and helps maintain normal end-tidal CO 2 concentrations. PSV Pro includes safety features, such as mandatory backup ventilation for apnea episodes. Excess moisture in the absorber and patient circuit is one by-product of low flow anesthesia where there is little patient gas exhausted through the scavenging systems and the exhaled CO 2 goes through the absorber with almost no dilution. EZchange Canister The EZchange Canister is an optional accessory that can be easily installed onto the Anesthesia Breathing System (ABS) absorber in the Avance systems.

This allows the canister to be removed from the breathing circuit without interrupting ventilation, disturbing the gas concentration in the circuit, or allowing circuit gases (agent, N 2 0), to

6 EZchange Canister The EZchange Canister is an optional accessory that can be easily installed onto the Anesthesia Breathing System (ABS) absorber in the Avance systems. Removing the canister activates the EZchange, and when activated, it will divert all of the breathing circuit gases past the multi-absorber. This allows the canister to be removed from the breathing circuit without interrupting ventilation, disturbing the gas concentration in the circuit, or allowing circuit gases (agent, N 2 0), to leak into the OR environment. 11 Folding side shelf (Avance) Increase your work surface area. Cardiopulmonary vaporizer bracket Pole mounted vaporizer manifold for Heart/Lung Bypass machine. Allows delivery of anesthetic agent to the patient via the Heart/Lung machine. The cardiopulmonary anesthesia vaporizer bracket is designed for mounting a Datex-Ohmeda Tec Series (Tec 4 or greater) vaporizer on a stable post when used with cardiopulmonary bypass equipment. The bracket assembly consists of a post mounting bracket and a one-vaporizer manifold. This configuration allows a Datex-Ohmeda Tec Series (Tec 4 or greater) vaporizer to be firmly mounted on the bracket. The manifold is designed and labeled for tubing connections In from the cardiopulmonary system s flow control mixing device, through the vaporizer, and Out to the blood oxygenator for clinical administration of anesthesia to the patient blood supply. To further ensure correct inlet/outlet connection of the manifold, a check valve is incorporated in the outlet port to prevent reverse gas flow. 11
