3 EXPANDI OIL BOOM EXPANDI Self Inflatable Oil Boom is the most rapid, compact and easy-tohandle oil boom system available. It is always ready for immediate deployment, in packed condition it requires very little space. With no need for air compressor or other auxiliary equipment this system guarantees reliable performance. This is why EXPANDI is the most popular oil boom system in the world. With any oil spill or pollution problem, the first few minutes following the accident are vital to rapid containment and control. That s why the compact, lightweight EXPANDI Self Inflatable Oil Boom has been proven so effective. Its rapid response means substantial money savings. By keeping spills from hitting the shore it eliminates the excessive cost of inshore cleanup. EXPANDI Self Inflatable has out sold any other single oil boom type world- wide - in total more than meter. The boom is self-inflating and expands itself the moment it is released. The boom has internal bounded pliable frames which are pre-sprung with stainless steel springs. A patch of 2mm thick urethane rubber is placed outside each frame corner for increased durability. The sections are divided into airtight compartment, m long depending on model. Each air compartment has airtight bladders or air-traps for for reserve buoyancy in case of damage. This makes the Expandi boom virtually unsinkable. During tests the boom has been filled up completely with water but still maintained one third of the freeboard and an acceptable performance in operation. The protective foam layer around the frames secures significant, positive buoyancy even with no air in the chambers. As an other unique consequence, a boom roll can be dropped from a crane or helicopter or simply tilted over the side of a boat, and be deployed floating in the water. The

4 EXPANDI OIL BOOM least accessible, most distant areas can be reached in just a moment with an EXPANDI Helicopter drop. A boom roll can be dropped right into the sea with no need for extra equipment and deployed from a floating position. The sections are quickly and easily connected to make a boom of desired length. The connectors are elastic and have the same shape as the boom itself, which means that the EXPANDI Self Inflatable Boom always work as a whole unit, regardless of how many sections are coupled together. Booms with rigid couplings are working in sections as the boom movement cannot be transferred to one section to the other. The EXPANDI Self Inflatable Boom does not work under pressure which makes it extremely suitable in waves. EXPANDI Self Inflatable Oil Boom is inflated fully automatically which means it is always ready for immediate use. No human interaction apart from pulling the towing rope is required in order to deploy the boom. No motors need to be started! Just pull the rope! It could not be easier! EXPANDI Self Inflatable Oil Boom can be operated with any kind of reel system. However, we strongly recommend the Roto Pac reel system which is especially developed for the EXPANDI Self Inflatable Oil Boom. 5 ROTO PAC Roto Pac boom deployment and retrieval device incorporates flexibility, mobility and minimal manpower. This extremely compact and easy to handle reel can be operated from an offshore platform, the deck of a vessel, a pier, or from the shore. Deployment requires no starting of any machine which means that unskilled personnel with practically no training will manage to operate the reel system if necessary. Deployment time for 200 meters is approximately 2 minutes. EXPANDI Roto Pac allows retrieval of boom segments of 200 meters in 12 minutes and is easily dismantled and moved by 2 men. 7 SUBMERSIBLE BOOM This unique oil boom system is designed for immediate, reliable operation. It is stored permanently in position on the sea bed and is operated in seconds by the push of a button activated by telephone or by remote control. The Submersible Oil Boom is perfect for terminals, refineries, harbors, and other defined problem areas. It is operated by one person only, in complete contrast to traditional oil booms that require more manpower and equipment. The Submersible Oil Boom is automatically raised to its correct operational position by using the process air at the terminal, or by compressor, and using the air to displace the water in the polyethylene pipes in the boom. When there is no further need for the boom it is automatically lowered by switching off the air thus allowing the water to re-flood the pipes. When not in use, the boom is permanently anchored and stored on the seabed, which means low maintenance costs, high durability, low vulnerability and long life. 8 SINGLE POINT INFLATABLE BOOM This is a rapid deployment inflatable oil boom. The boom is robust, with individual floatation chambers and is inflated continuously from the towing equipment connected to the first boom section. Each section comprises four individual air chambers and each chamber is connected to the common rail air filling system through a check valve. Check valves allow air into chambers but not out. Each chamber has in addition a high capacity valve mounted for deflation when recovering the boom. In unlikely event that the single point inflation system fails, this air valve offers a back up inflation solution similar to that of ordinary air-inflated oil booms. The boom is available in sizes from 1 m to 2.2 m in total height for environment ranging from protected waters to open sea. The main features of this boom are: rapid deployment, safe operation, minimum need for personnel, very good wave response, low storage volume, simple maintenance, easy to repair and to clean. 9 INFLATABLE BOOM This is a very robust oil boom. The boom is inflated, section by section, by means of a back carried blower. The products are light weight and deployable without any additional equipment. Delivered in shipping bags, on pallets, in storage frames, in containers or on reels. Available sizes from 0.6 m to 1.4 m. Section length is 25 m and the sections are easily connected with a Norwegian end connector standard, Expandi or ASTM connectors. Each section includes 4 separated, replaceable buoyancy chambers. 10 SHORE SEALING BOOM In inter-tidal areas, or at riverbanks where water levels may be expected to fluctuate, it is necessary to ensure that a seal is maintained at the waterline as the water level rises and falls. Shore sealing booms can be deployed to do just that. Shore sealing booms function through water-filled lower (ballast) and air-filled upper (float) chambers that automatically adjust to changing water levels. Shore sealing booms are most effective when used on mud or sandy areas. Care must be applied before deploying on sites with boulders, sharp protrusions, rip-rap, or other challenges that may puncture the boom. Surfaces that may prevent tight sealing resulting in oil leaking under the boom when the tide changes should also be avoided. 11 FENCE BOOM This is a very robust oil boom with fixed, flat flotation elements. It is ready for use without need for additional equipment. The system requires limited storage space and is reelable. It is delivered on pallets, in containers, on trailer, in storage frames or on reels. This type of oil boom is recommended for shielded waters. The boom is ready for use. Standard section length is 25 m and the sections are easily connected to desired total length. Mounted reflection bands makes the boom visible and easier to operate at night. 12 CYLINDRICAL BOOMS This is a very robust oil boom with fixed, cylindrical flotation elements. It is light weight and ready for use without need for additional equipment. This type of oil boom may be stored on pallets, in containers, in storage frames or in containers for quick deployment. It is recommended for shielded waters and is available in sizes from 0.5 m to 1.1 m. The boom is ready for use. 13 BOOM REELS Hydraulically or electrically driven reels developed for storage and deployment of oil booms. The reel itself and the framework has sea water resistant coating. The equipment is easy to handle and secures a safe and effective deployment of oil booms. The reels may be effectively used with hoses, ropes, fish nets, etc. as well. Drive units (motor, gear and valves) are protected against corrosion by means of high quality, sea water resistant paint according to Norwegian specifications. The boom reel can be delivered with fork lift channels and lifting points for crane operation. The reels are delivered with corner plates for fastening to container or quay. Alternatively, corner plates can be delivered with ISO corners with Twist-Locks. The reels require minimal maintenance. As an option, the reels can be fitted with Free Wheeling system for a controlled deployment of the boom without connecting the reel to a power pack in emergency situations. 14 HYDRAULIC POWER PACKS Hydraulic power packs are equipment designed to run reels, skimmers, transfer pumps, etc. Basically, the system comprises one hydraulic pump (fixed or variable displacement) connected to an engine (petrol or diesel) or electric motor. A distributor valve can be fitted to adjust the output flow. Further output circuits and wireless remote control are available, if required. Frame and tanks can be made of mild or stainless steel. Marine grade painting according to Norwegian standard protects the equipment against corrosion. As an option, silenced versions can be supplied for some models. 15 MULTI SKIMMERS The Multi-Skimmers are equipment with three different cassettes (drum, discs and brush). The cassette can be changed from one type to another in order to be able to recover spills within a wide range of viscosities. Drum and discs are used for spills of light to medium viscous oils and brush for medium to high viscosity. 16 WEIR SKIMMER This is a very robust oil skimmer. The structure is in stainless steel. Generally, this type of skimmer takes more water compared to brush, drum, or disc skimmers. In spite of this, this type of skimmer is the most widely used when operating with high volume spills and thick oil layers. This is due to the simple design and dependability. The smaller models are operated with external pump while the larger skimmers have pumps built in. The amount of oil being guided into the pump is regulated by the positioning of the surface flotation ring. This is automatically adjusted through the speed of the pump. It doesn t have to be more complicated. 17 SELF SUPPORTING TANK The self supporting tanks adjusts its height using the floating top ring. The tank is made in PVC coated polyester resistant to sun light, sea water and hydrocarbons. The self supporting tank is lightweight, foldable and portable. It can be used as temporary storage unit for sewage, oily waters or hydrocarbons prior to the final waste management. 18 FRAME TANK The FTANK series are the best solution for on site temporary storage during spill response or emergency operations. Sewage water, hydrocarbons or materials containing them (rags, sorbents, etc.) can be stored prior their final disposal. These tanks are made of PVC or PVC/PU coated polyester fabric and have a outer supporting stainless steel frame. The fabric equipped with drain and offloading connections. 19 CONTAINER SYSTEM The EXPANDI Container System is designed rapid oil spill response. Containers are available for first intervention, beach cleaning, office modules and rest rooms. The containers are re-built maritime ISO containers and ideal for road and sea transport. Standard equipped containers are available but more often we design the containers in close collaboration with our customer in order to meet their exact requirements.

21 SORBENTS Sorbents is an excellent tool for controlling leaks and spills and contributes to maintain control and safety involving the storage and manipulation of fluids. Our products will also help you meet and maintain an ISO classification of your company. Four families of products: Universal Maintenance: Absorbs everything. All industry environments should be well prepared and organized. Most accidents occur due to lack of such planning. Sorbents help you keep your work environment clean and safe. The sorbents make you able to control all your fluids and spills. Color code: Grey. Universal Chemicals: Absorbs everything: Sorbents based on 100% Polypropylene secure an excellent chemical resistance. The fibres are chemically neutral and do not react to the fluid. They are ideal for the control of hazardous and aggressive fluids. Remember to use proper safety outfits. The sorbents absorb the hazardous fluids but don't neutralize them. Color code: Yellow. Oil-Only Synthetic fibers: Water repelling, oil absorbing products. The ideal solution for outdoor operation and for collection of oil spills on water. If the product will be deployed for an extended period or is likely to be exposed to aggressive fluids, the synthetic version is recommended. Color code: Orange. Oil-Only Natural fibers: Water repelling, oil absorbing products. The ideal solution for outdoor operation and for collection of oil spills on water. In addition to being more cost-effective than the synthetic version, the products are based on biodegradable and naturally renewable fibres. Absorbs as well,

22 SORBENTS if not better, than the synthetic version. As the products are base on biodegradable fibres repeated use is not recommended. They are not suited for deployment for extended periods under humid conditions as the biodegrading process progresses rather rapidly. Color code: Blue. Pads: Ready cut sheets: Ideal for small spills and equipment cleaning. Rolls: Custom cutting: Easy and effective for coverage of larger areas. Pillows: Absorbs more than the mats: Suitable for larger fluid spills and for response to leakages. Socks: Limits the spreading of a spill and helps the clean-up. Long and flexible. Granular: Granular sorbent. Same material as in sorbent pillows and socks. Excellent for protection of fluids during transport. Sweep: Removes effectively thin layers of oil from water. Sections can easily be connected and swept between two vessels. Booms: Stops spreading of oil spills on water and absorbs oil simultaneously. Available with and without boom skirt. Spill Kits: Practical selection of sorbents for deployment in strategic locations. Contents may be altered according to requirements.

23 SORBENT BOOMS This is an excellent solution for smaller spills. The Sorbent Booms contain and absorb the spill. It is available in length of 12.5 m and 25 m. Effective quick couplings allow rapid connection of sections to desired lengths. The booms are delivered in large, durable bags with four lifting points for easy handling. The bags are suitable for temporary disposal of used absorbent booms. The sorbent material is extremely water repelling while it absorbs oil containing fluids effectively. The products are inexpensive and to be considered as disposable. Time consuming, costly and unpleasant cleaning is not necessary. The Sorbent Booms are equipped with reflective strips SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea). The reflectives conform to Marine Equipment Directive 96/98/EC and International Maritime Organization (IMO) Resolution A.658 (16) Annex 2. The reflective strips help enhance visibility of the absorbent booms in nighttime, or low-light conditions when illuminated by a spotlight or other light source. The Skirted Sorbent Booms may be used as conventional oil boom barrier in calm waters by using the plastic fabric side of the boom instead of the sorbent side. The booms with or without skirt are available in 2 different sorbent material: Synthetic: Hydrophobic and oleophilic melt blown polypropylene fibers. Biodegradable: Special treated hydrophobic and oleophilic cotton fibers.

24 DRAIN BLOCKER Drain blockers are devices which can be positioned over or into a storm drain creating a positive seal and preventing any spilled contaminants from entering storm sewers and receiving waters. Drain blockers can be directly applied to most horizontal drains allowing pollutant laden water to be diverted. They may be washed and reused. Drain blockers function through water-filled chamber that automatically adjust to the ground or road surface. Care must be applied before deploying on sites with boulders, sharp protrusions, rip-rap, or other challenges that may puncture the fabric. Drain blockers are made of flexible PVC coated polyester fabric, resistant to UV ray, hydrocarbons and seawater. They are folding in order to reduce the storage needs. 25 BOOM CLEANER The Boom Cleaner is designed to quickly and thoroughly remove oil and pollutants from any kind of oil booms. A minimum of manpower is required, boom damage is effectively eliminated and wear is minimized. The Boom Cleaner is environmentally safe as it traps the removed pollutants inside the system for safe disposal. The Expandi Boom Cleaner works in conjunction with a Roto Pac which pulls the boom through the cleaner. The cleaning process includes a section for chemical/detergent cleaning and a section for water washing. Rotating brushes and sprinklers ensure the boom is properly and effectively cleaned. A control panel allows the operator to control the pumps, drive speed and other aspects of the cleaning system. The system can be operated on hydraulic or air. The Expandi Boom Cleaning system is being produced in marine grade aluminium and is easily moved with a forklift.
